Could one of our characters somehow end up being the space jockey?

MemberOvomorphMar-08-2017 4:30 PMBefore seeing Prometheus in the cinema, I wondered whether Shaw might end up being in the space jockey suit or otherwise fused into the chair in Alien and whether that would be the climactic reveal at the end of the film. That was when I thought Prometheus would link straight into Alien however.
I have read theory posts from other members to do with Shaw becoming something else in AC or being used to produce offspring for experimental purposes. It has re-triggered my thinking about the jockey.
There are obvious timeline issues that interfere with the prospect of one of the Prometheus or AC crew ultimately being the jockey one way or another and I accept that. I just can't stop thinking about how in Alien RS zooms closely towards the jockey's head and eye and freezes for a moment before the scene moves on towards Kane's appointment down below. Probably done for effect but I can't help wonder if that is now more relevant in view of the suit aspect of the seat and whether the eventual connecting dots from the new films to Alien might reveal something here. We know that RS wants to explore who the jockey is and how it got there and so I expect that it will not just be a random engineer or "God" but that there will eventually be some kind of thought provoking story behind who this specific space jockey is.

MemberFacehuggerMar-08-2017 7:08 PMBack in 1979, no one knew that the SJ was humanlike we all believed it to be the skeleton of some alien species, which kept it more mysterious and eerie. I liked the buildup of creepy tension with lamberts ''Dallas lets get the hell out of here".
Not only that the mouth is open and what looks like top and bottom teeth could be engineer or human, whoever the poor bugger was (engineer or human) who was in the suit, their death spasms would have been the same as kanes in the burster scene.
