MemberChestbursterMarch 23, 2017WOW! At the new poster image on twitter.com/alienanthology
No problem. It is quite a beautiful poster with chaos and beauty. My favorite poster so far.
Hi I'm new made an account because this is blowing my mind
What is the structure/face in the background?? Am I the only one seeing it?
Top centre, and what looks like a right eye, next to the centre xenomorph.
IF you look center top. It is very close to that of the Alien Queen's head. So, can there be a queen and if a queen, is Shaw or has Shaw been mutated into the queen by the hands of David.
It has "the depths of Hades..." feel plastered all over it.
Lessee...Which do you prefer? Milton's "Paradise Lost", Dante's "Inferno", Virgils's "Aeneid", or the Biblical "Hell..."
Needless to say, we ain't in Kansas anymore...
Beautiful, looks like a very old painting that tells a horrifying story of when the unstoppable monsters (xeno, proto?) emerged from the darkness and the engineers were more or less brought to extinction.
There's just SO many of the heads (plus the obvious huge backdrop) that look like an alien queen. I hope this is just a nod to the fans, and that Ridley hasn't actually gone for including the queen in this movie!
I mean, I don't dislike the queen and everything "Aliens", but it's got some major differences to how I see Ridley's creatures and their species.
@ David007
While it does resemble the Queen's crest a queen will not be in Ridley Scott's Alien movies, it is Csmerons creation not his and i feel he prefers to keep with the mutation and cosmic horror vibe rather than use the queen which automatically turns the xenomorph species into a bunch of dangerous insects and cannon fodder. I liked the Queen in Aliens but i prefer something a little deeper than that in this film universe....give me ancient horror with mutations and unspeakable macabre things we have yet to discover....that being said i think the crest resembkles the top of the mural from Prometheus
I'm not kidding.....if you zoom in....real tight in the upper right/left bottom center....is that....
While it does resemble a queen it's more likely to be Shaw, however it really doesn't resemble her at all unlike Gigers art.
This poster is amazing props to whoever created it!
What if Scott creates his version of the egg layer...Shaw who has been engineered, made perfect by David? Rather than use Cameron's creation, Scott goes into his own direction with a Giger like queen...a mother.
Aside from the idea of a mother. It would appear the Xeno takes out the engineers...inflicted by David? Or by their own hand?
@Xeno I agree with you. Just looking to try and find out the artist's name. It'd be cool to know. Very "Giger" esque and Giger worthy!
I'm wondering what all the biomech tentacles are. If they're just an artistic thing showing that the xeno species strangle and eradicate the engineer (or native human) race, or if it's from a creature we'll actually get to see.
Considering how many strange variations of the xeno we're seeing, I'm guessing it's just artistic. Love the stone sculpture features of it. Monolithic.
Uppermost/central part does indeed look very similar to the Alien Queen's crown-like head, and if you follow the centreline further down while trying to exclude all the xenos, facehuggers and engineers (please get out of the way we're trying to analyze something here ok), notice the symmetrical yet partly concealed pattern covering most of the upper part of the picture.
It does look like a giant head, whether it's an actual creature, mural or statue. (Tyrannoxenos Rexmorphus. Gigantus Indeedus.)
Could it perhaps be a design variation of the creature on the cover below?
