ok, so when the first footage of the Xenomorph was presented at the end of the second trailer i nearly exploded. Im not usually impressed with cgi and actually most of the time poor or excessive cgi is a deal breaker for me. i gotta say though that this is the best ive ever seen as far as creature effects are concerned, just my opinion. I must have watched those last two scenes of the alien at least 50 times in a row on multiple occasions. So when i finally saw the 'Take Me Home' TV spot i immediately registered a difference in the alien between the two previews. Lighting, skin texture, muscle definition, even the background and the ship have been tweaked but most noticeable was the aliens teeth and mouth. The trailer version has more human like blunt teeth while the tv spot has sharper teeth and a mouth more standard of the franchise. Just about any monster in any movie has a sharp vicious looking grill. Rarely, if ever, have i seen a goon with a more human like countenance which is what originally caught my attention in the trailer. Is it just me or is that alot creepier than the typical alien chompers? I really hope that the tv spot was utilizing older material and the theatrical version is as seen in the trailer. Open both videos in different tabs and you can pause them to the exact same frame, toggle between the two and you can clearly see many changes. Which version do you all Prefer?

To me it's always been the 'Human' looking teeth that was always so Creepy and Different...seeing 'Human' teeth in something so absolutely NON-Human, yeah, always loved that detail about it.
I thought the 'improvements' in the trailers were just me, glad to know I was wrong. I thought it was because I watched it originally when really tired, but am impressed with the CGI work!

IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING

Totally agree with you. I noticed that very quickly. The very first time the xeno appeared didn't look "real"...the latest ones, however...it looks VERY realistic. VERY. I'm usually pretty tough on CGI, but as long as it isn't Alien 3 bad, I can sometimes look over it. In A:C, I expect it will be some of the best we've ever seen.

ok cool good to know its not just me haha. Definitely have high hopes for the overall presentation of the xenomorph. Just another thing that i noticed, especially in the clip where the alien is smashing the window with its head, there is almost a stop-motion quality to it. I cant quite put my finger on what it is but that shot def stands out to me. I felt the same way about the adult trilobite from prometheus which was also in my opinion very nicely done. Maybe its the result of a new method or approach to cgi, either way im super flippin excited!

@starlogger: yeah i have a feeling we are going to see some awesome cgi that will set a new standard of excellence. Maybe there aren't any new techniques used, i think it might have more to do with how passionate and excited the artists are to be creating the first xenomorph in a ridley movie since, well, alien

@Blackwinter-witch: I wonder if the xeno we see on the poster is the same as what is in the trailer. the poster version has some really funky uneven teeth while the trailer version seems to have had braces... either way i agree i prefer the more human like teeth to fangs
