MemberOvomorphMay-02-2017 10:30 AMThanks in advance to anyone kind enough to provide answers!
I picked up a copy of the Aliens Original Comic Book Series 30th Anniversary Edition, mainly because I've always been interested in seeing or reading a story in which the alien homeworld is explored. I'm not very far in so perhaps this is premature, but so far my journey into the noncanonical world has been frustrating, and I'd like to proceed without being quite so irked!
In The Theory of Alien Propagation story, Xenomorphs appear to be flying about all over the place - on a *different* Engineer derelict (and shortly after this there's seemingly an Queen inexplicably aboard a human ship -- but it might just be confusingly drawn), as well as some involvement with these (rather naff, in my opinion) lizard aliens. (Why confuse the whole thing by adding lizard aliens into the mix?)
Part of what made the Xenomoroph so terrifying is no one (extending to in-universe characters) had ever seen anything like that before - and Ripley's entire existence became about eradicating the threat. If it's the case that the Xenomorphs are just kind of everywhere, all that is rendered somewhat redundant. Now, clearly W-Y were aware of their existence, but I'm hoping that Covenant and subsequent films will provide an answer to that that will make sense in a canonical context.
Obviously this weird cult featured in Outbreak is aware of the aliens, and even appear to have acquired one? Is that right? Again, it may be confusingly drawn. But with all these Xenomorophs floating around, why is Hicks being sent to the alien homeworld to collect specimens? Surely there's no point?
As I said, I've only really just begun reading and perhaps I'm being impatient! I just want to be sure I'm not getting this all wrong before I proceed. Obviously less spoilery answers would be appreciated! And if all these questions are going to be resolved within the story, then please let me know too!!
Thanks!

MemberDeaconMay-02-2017 3:32 PMThere have been many different books and comics that touch upon different things, i have not read the one you are referring to and so i cant really help... but i am sure others can.
I think eventually and ultimately they will only use whats shown in the Movies as Canon.
So depending on where they go with the Xenomorph Origins, i.e does David Create or Re-create it... then this would help to answer if Xenomorphs or similar are wide spread.
Things to remember are.
*Engineers and Hierarchy are Ancient, they are spread across not only the Galaxy but beyond.
*They have this Black Goo that is either derived from Xeno DNA, or something else that then leads to the Xenomorph.
so there is potential that Black Goo/Xeno related Organisms could exist all across the Galaxy and Beyond, and as far as the Alien Universe Mankind has only covered a Small % of our Galaxy never mind beyond our Galaxy.
So yes its possible for the Xenomorph to be widespread, just not as far as close contact to Mankind

MemberOvomorphJun-02-2017 2:43 AMI searched for the Aliens Original Comic Book Series 30th Anniversary Edition on Amazon and the price increased, as I can see. Reading the reviews now, but most of them say it's only for an alien fanatic or a comic geek. Would it be ok as a present for a college student (just couldn't decide which of the books for college freshmen to choose)? Jeremy's obsessed with comics.
