Notice the lightning above the ship.

That habitat, environment is extremely dangerous and infectious...surely it lands just to pick up the survivors..the landing craft exploded, only thing left is the actual ship and the platform tech ship Tennesse rides.

The landing engines are very similar (much larger) the engines above.

Roger55, yes. I believe the Covenant ship goes down to the surface and not to the benefit of the colonists.

I know Blackwinter-witch, once you get out into the country and away from town you never know what will end up on your windshield.
