Alien- I never figured out what this was

Emergency helmets....Ridley thought it was cool with the readout reflected in them the way he cut it, it looks as if the two helmets are having a conversation.

@Lone once again, of course, totally right on! 

I LOVE that intro sequence, before anyone awakens. Then the "message" jolts everyone into life. Just an amazingly sequenced piece of film.

Hmm...They did look cool with the reflections but I never saw that really did anything else. Thanks Lone.

@dk it's the SOUNDS during that sequence that are so important when combined with the reflections and lighting...

Starlogger I agree the scene was great and I think they were seen again when the crew was searching for Jonesy. I just thought they were communicating somehow as Lone stated but nothing else happened. I didn't realize they were just emergency helmets looking pretty while reflecting the monitors. Good trivia to know.

I love how the scene ends abruptly with what sounds like a raspberry blow! ;)

dk that's just one of the many things I love about A L I E N, there are still nice little details to be discovered.

Now, every time I watch it, I look at a different part of the background and I usually never fail to spot something I missed the hundreds of times I've watched it before!
