Hi guys! I had an AWESOME Alien themed birthday! My husband and I filled our apartment with green and black balloons which looked like Xenomorph eggs and we put up a bunch of green and black streamers. My husband, sister, friends and I all wore "Covenant" T-shirts, went to a space ship themed escape room, then came home and watched Alien and Aliens!
I got "The Art and Making of Alien Covenant" book, the Dr. Shaw with David's severed head action figure and the David 8 Neca action figure (which hasn't arrived yet, and my friend says it's still on it's way from Russia).
The whole day was filled with Alien themed witticisms, quotes, fan-theories and discussions and it concluded with my friends and I formulating a plan for an Alien universe RPG game which they want me to DM! :D
Best. Birthday. Ever.

Yay! Happy belated Birthday!!! Looks like super good times. The whole family getting into the Alien groove - epic!

That's gruesome! haha Fattest chestburster I've ever seen. I would christened it the "Pitbull Chestburster"

VIVISECTEDENGINEER - How very incredible! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Thank you so much for being so kind as to share this wonderful treat with us! :)

I am confused as to why a chest burster is coming out of a cake? It must be a living cake like Alice in the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers video for Don't Come Around Here No More.

Thanks! Yes, I am lucky to have such a cool family. The whole evening there was a running joke that my sister's computer scientist fiance was the synthetic of our crew.
At one point we started theorizing "It seems like all Androids admire the xenomorph. [Sister's fiance], how do you feel about it?" and he deadpanned "Well, since I've heard Androids are being decapitated around here, I'll keep my opinions on the xenomorph to myself." haha!

Lol, I suppose it is! That makes it all the more scary, no? Do you think a Pitbull xeno would be scarier than the Rottweiler xeno in Alien 3?

Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! I'm really really glad you guys enjoy it! I was so excited when I saw it, I was literally jumping up and down in the bakery when I went to pick it up.

I'm not familiar with "Alice in the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers video for Don't Come Around Here No More."
I wanted to have the cake shaped like a T-shirt, so it would be more like it was coming out of someone's chest, but the baker said the cake would have to be bigger, and therefore more expensive... :-/
So, we just have to use our imaginations and pretend that it's coming out of a chest.

VIVISECTEDENGINEER - Hahaha! That is alright! I was bouncing on my feet when I first saw the images you presented! It is a wonderful cake! Thank you once again for sharing this with us! :)

Cool, I was just making a joke, watch that video it's pretty creepy. Happy belated birthday!

Thanks for the birthday well-wishes and for telling me about the video!
I just watched it! Very surreal! The Mad-Hatter character kind of reminded me of Willy Wonka on the new Charlie and the Chocolate factory!

Actually, I am not sure what the red stuff was, I commissioned the cake from a bakery. I think it was red food coloring. Maybe red food coloring with corn syrup? It was very messy and actually very blood-like. After snapping a few pictures of the cake, I yanked the baby xeno up out of it by hand and when I looked down at my bloody looking hands I felt like Patrick Bateman or something.
But one thing I do know is the entire cake was 100% vegan! Despite all appearances, it's a very non-violent cake!

Beautiful cake! Happy late Birthday. I wonder if the maker is a fan- looks like he/she has made something like that a time or two.

@dk
Thanks! He didn't give any indication of it, but I do sort of hope the baker is a fan...otherwise I may have coerced an imaginative artist who's accustomed to sculpting flower bouquets and peaceful sleeping fawns into studying and recreating something just a tinsy bit disturbing.
He didn't have any like material on his website, but I chose him because he had a lot of really realistic looking sculpture cakes. Maybe my request inspired him to watch the movie and he became a fan?? I can dream, right?
Thanks!! (I didn't make the cake though, I just commissioned it from a local bakery. So, good job to the baker! :) Actually, when my husband and I went to the bakery to pick it up, I started jumping up and down and shouted "Oh my God! It looks just like the PERFECT ORGANISM!")
Yes! Inside the cake was chocolate, and had several layers with white vegan "butter-cream" icing in between them.
The cake itself tasted good, and the icing inside the cake tasted very good. However, the layer of fondant around the outside of the cake and the xeno itself tasted a little bland.
I cut off a few slices of the xeno's head saying "I'm going to eat him and gain his strength!" But when I ate them, they were not very sweet and were a little tough. So, I left the rest of the mutilated xeno on a plate in the fridge, to startle people every time the fridge door was opened, until I threw it out :)

wow the cake is a stone groove smash hit wonder
Happy for you VivisectedEngineer. Your family and friends are awesome.

VIVISECTEDENGINEER - Excellent! Thank you ever so much for taking the time to indulge my curiosity! Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

Thanks!!!
You're welcome! As a curious person myself, I'm happy to indulge! :D And THANK YOU!!!

Happy Birthday!
That cake is Amazing! Not sure if I should be hungry or not! lol!

Pure artistry right there! A lone xeno somewhere out there in the galaxy who has always wanted to be a cake topper is beaming with joy right now!
What's the story, MUTHUR?

Thank you!!! Lol, I guess it is both enticing and disgusting at the same time.
Thank you! ^_^ The baker did an amazing job! Sadly, he didn't post a picture of this particular artistic accomplishment on his site with the rest. I guess he didn't want to scare away potential clients, lol.
ViviEn - Such a beautiful and shocking tart! It looks like an albino critter! :) While visiting the fridge, don't forget that you can own the movie on Digital HD from August / on Blu-ray and DVD from August 15.
Enjoy the tart, enjoy the Covenant! :)

Happy birthday VivisectedEngineer! Glad you had a wonderful birthday and that birthday cake is to die for! I'm practically arching my back in agony!
Btw, how'd you enjoy the Art and Making of Covenant? Did you see Bishop and Brett ;) There's a lot of interesting tid bits you can't find elsewhere.
"The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts."

@Ati
"It looks like an albino critter!"
Aww, don't make him feel self conscious! He's the perfect organism! Lol.
Haha, trust me, Ati, there is no way I'm going to forget that date. I have that day off work, as it's my most important religious holiday.
I feel like I should probably take that as some sort red-flag, but this fandom just keeps me marching towards distraction and temptation like an unwary crew towards a deceptively Earth-like planet.
If I fall to temptation and God asks me why I spent the day at home watching Covenant rather than at the temple praying, I'm going to blame you, Ati :P

Thanks! Omg, I know! I literally told the baker "I love it so much I'm gonna die." lol.
I am really enjoying the Art and Making book! It's interesting to read each of the actors' perspectives on their characters, and to see the CGI concepts of the scenes before they were shot. (Also, I knew Fassbender had used Spock as a reference for Walter. There were times I was thinking he sounded just like Spock, down to his accent).
I didn't see the bit about Bishop and Brett! What page?? I'm a big fan of Bishop.

Truly Awesome ;)
Glad you had a Fantastic Birthday...
Happy Belated Birthday ;)

That looks awesome and Happy Birthday VE, it also reminds me of the polymorph in Red Dwarf, i have been watching the series recently, i still get a laugh from it! lol!

@VivisectedEngineer, sci-fi comedy made by the BBC thats still going, stars Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John Jules, Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Hayridge.

@dk
Lol, unfortunately no, I wish I'd taken some, though. I did slice a couple of pieces off the back of the Xeno's head and eat them.
Actually, it didn't look as satisfying as you might hope because inside the Xeno was just solid white. I mean...I don't know what I expected...brains?...Acid blood?
But, it definitely looked best/most realistic/most gory before being sliced.
