David 8's Lab Tools and Experiments (enhanced)

Interesting thread. I also want to know more about David's process and Advent is so fulfilling.

Thank you Lawrence of Arabia. I agree and hope the trickle of new content continues. I would most likely pass out if something came out with David 8 working on an Engineer.

We also see David removing them from inside a neomorph hand, which has several of them inside, so I'm not sure those were meant to be "eggs".

I assumed these were tumerous growths, but tumors with some interesting cells inside that worked for David's purposes.

Ingeniero nice work! damn that image of the mutation at the back of Shaw's head is creepy. Almost looks like xeno/hugger digits.

Yes, I'm reluctant to nail them down as eggs because of where David 8 was harvesting them from. I also agree that David 8 could be very resourceful in using these black goo-based tissue in his works. 

He also seemed to be harvesting other tissue as well.

The back of Dr. Shaw's head looks like a cobra fan. It appears that David 8 is pulling the sloughing skin off the large area of mutation in Advent.

If I know correctly, the last picture (appearing in the movie in the scene where Daniels finds David's drawings) shows a big flower.

As for the small somethings, they can be glands as well...

If I read well David's lines on the drawing:

I believe someone spotted that very image in the behind the scenes segment that showed Dr. Shaw's mutation.

After the word host (n) the word plant is not a verb, but a noun meaning the flower...?? That's why I wrote about the flower... I don't know, it's possible that I'm wrong.

When the deacon busted the engineer cavity these cool blue beads came spraying out. Looked cool and so do his experiments. How the goo reanimates dead tissue is kind of a stretch.

Thank you Capt Torgo, now I have another reason to rewatch Prometheus.

I know, a lot of it is a stretch but we muddy that by overwhelming ourselves with images and theories related to the more clear details in the story.

We also have this piece of art. Seems they had several of the designers take a turn designing Shaw. I don't remember if it was Matt Hatton or Dane Hallett that did this one.

Are these possibly the same parasitic worm version of the pathogen we saw pop out of Holloway's eye in Prometheus?

Are those white growths he's removing the result of the Mote infections? Like, if these are left to grow they eventually turn into a Back- or Mouthburster and grow up to be a Neomorph?

David used (in Advent) a word fauna, flower or something and I thought that included something meaningful?

Ingeniero - Some amazing snaps. Really good work. I have been trying to search through Advent for further clues, there seems to be so much in it. it was how i envisioned we would break A:C down but this is our olive branch from Fox and i am very accepting of it

The structure around Shaw's head reminds me of the Alien Queen. Perhaps David experimenting to make his queen?

I have to lean toward your theory JPL.

In the past I projected that we didn't need a queen with the black goo technology but with the latest release of Advent...yes, it looks like we have a queen on the way via David 8's addition to the Covenant freezer and voicing his intentions.

Another good catch with the parasitic worm Kethol.

I accept the olive branch too sherris. I'm going to take another pass at Advent...I noticed something else that may tie into Prometheus.

David is drawing an individual mote breaking from the swarm and implanting a parasite or parasite eggs in the Advent video. This confirms that the motes are the tiny flying insects we see Oram looking at through the magnifier in David's lab. David calls them the 'shock troops of the genetic assault'.

They are basically flying delivery mechanisms for the parasite, similar to what a facehugger does.

I wish we could see all the hand written text in the video. I can make out "breaks from the swarm" at the top and "implanting" to the right of the insect drawn depositing the eggs. Not sure if that is a spore egg to the left, or what the mote implanting.

I guess these are a version of what John Spaith's talked about in the Prometheus commentary when we see the little dots swarming away from the Engineers body as he disintegrates - "The black material that consumed him transmuted into little scarab-like gnats that flew away across the earth…".
