David knows passcodes..?

Hello fans,

I'm wondering about something in the ending of Alien Covenant, hope someone can unriddle this thought. What a great series this is becoming, I'm hypnotized by Prometheus and Covenant!

In the last scene David "tucks in" Daniels for the next jump and doesn't recognise the cottage of wich she speaks. In this great plot twist of an ending when Daniels realises that this is David and then goes to sleep David accesses the lab with embryos and colonistst.

He accesses the entry door and embryo-drawer both with codes of wich he must have copied of of Walter...but if he somehow could have 'read' the codes then why would he not have registered the "cottage at the lake"?

I do not hope that this is a Cinema Sin but a nice easter egg for the next film.

Maybe someone can answer this or think about it out loud...
