MemberFacehuggerAug-18-2017 9:18 AMI'm surprised after watching Advent, which is basically what David sent back to Weyland-Yutani, that the company is after the xenomorph more than the Pathogen
Ingeniero
MemberPraetorianAug-18-2017 9:36 AMI agree with the point you make on priority A L I E N 4 2 6. I can only assume that the company would some how synthesize the pathogen from the xenomorph but why not put priority on capturing the black goo unused.
This Prometheus mission order may help explain a little (see below).
Thank you both A L I E N 4 2 6 and ali81 for your responses.
To answer what you suggested to:
"What is more rare than capturing a xenomorph in the Alien universe?"
It is not the black goo pathogen nor a common agreement between forum members regards an Alien concept.

MemberPraetorianAug-18-2017 9:47 AMOne last hint...the answer is not finding an Engineer alive.
Thank you for your attention in an attempt to solve this vital mystery.

MemberPraetorianAug-18-2017 7:37 PMThat is a great answer Timmy the ultramorph.
No, the answer is not the lack of ethics and empathy at Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
"What is more rare than capturing a xenomorph in the Alien universe?"
There are 2 clues in the topic opener and comments.
Thank you for trying though...you could easily argue that is the right answer because greed is healthy at the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

MemberPraetorianAug-18-2017 9:31 PMA synthetic that doesn't have a rebellious streak. Even Bishop went rogue with his knife party trick lol
Ash tried to choke Ripley to death with a magazine - you rebel
Call deliberately spilt the moonshine - Rebel
David - Genocidal maniac with daddy issues. Currently trying to kill humanity
Walter - one time at band camp..... he indulged in a little unauthorised fluting

MemberPraetorianAug-19-2017 6:55 AMThank you so much IRaptus.
This is also a great answer...a synthetic loyal to humans consistently....a very rare thing but not the answer. Walter at band camp is very funny.
This is also another answer that can arguably be the correct answer because of the facts.
OK, one last, last hint. And thank you again for playing along.
The answer to "What is more rare than capturing a xenomorph in the Alien universe?" has to do with an occupant of the Prometheus, Nostromo, or Sulaco ships.
The topic opening picture does show the answer.

MemberPraetorianAug-19-2017 7:18 AMI really appreciate the time Im Durp. That also could be the correct answer based on the facts.
It has been about 24 hours since I began this query and I'm not too shocked at the really good answers I received back.
The answer to "What is more rare than capturing a xenomorph in the Alien universe?" is related to a member of the Prometheus crew.
Answer below:
Answer: Capturing an image of Sean Fifield smiling is very rare.
Thank you for your time everyone.

MemberTrilobiteAug-19-2017 10:00 PMI give up. UNCLE! I think we need Ati to unravel that deliberately blurry pic!
Ingeniero
MemberPraetorianAug-20-2017 6:07 AMThe answer is capturing Sean Fifield's smile dk. I figured each of us were familiar with the character and his abrasive disposition.
I'll have to go back and look I Moon Girl. I believe he was smirking when burning in his helmet and later after the black goo treatment his lips were melted off and that gave the appearance of a smile.
Thank you both again for your analysis/time.

MemberPraetorianAug-20-2017 6:10 AMVivisectedEngineer, that is another good answer (see correct answer above). It is tough out there for the synthetic.
VivisectedEngineer
MemberChestbursterAug-20-2017 9:00 AMNoooo! :,-( Of all the dismembered synthetics pics you could have chosen, you had to go with mortally-wounded-Bishop. -_- My one weakness. *Cries*

MemberPraetorianAug-20-2017 11:05 AMVivisectedEngineer, I'm a Michael Bishop fan too. We only got to see one of his creations in the later line of androids. I'm sorry I had to go there to make my point. I admit I should have been more sensitive.

MemberChestbursterAug-20-2017 12:05 PM*Tosses tissue in trash and ceases undignified blubbering*
Lol, no worries Ingeniero. We're Sci-Fi horror fans, sensitivity shouldn't really be part of the territory. Nevertheless, I recently found a super old story on FanFiction.net, where the events of Alien 3 and Resurrection were just a dream and Bishop, Newt, Ripley and Hicks got a happy ending.
Of course, retconning is considered blasphemous here, but that story is what I choose to believe!
I was glad to have found it too, because up until then, I was working on my own fan fiction wherein Bishop gets repaired and reactivated but it didn't retcon anything and it was going to be a depressing story.
Anyhow, Ingeniero, who is your most beloved character in the series? I will find a picture of them for your enjoyment. :)
Ingeniero
MemberPraetorianAug-20-2017 2:02 PMThank you so much for that VivisectedEngineer. Yes, many wish for that happy ending for Newt and the gang but in the Alien universe you can't get to upset about a character dying off because they usually kill most everyone. And shred the androids to varying degree.
David 8. My most beloved character is David 8.
When he dumbed down his drawing ability (see above) to act like he was growing a crush on Dr. Shaw, that was great. David 8 had the ability to draw the below drawing when he was "born". David 8 did not have to learn how to play the piano so why would he have to learn to draw?
I just love him because he is so devious. We have such great potential with that synthetic.
VivisectedEngineer
MemberChestbursterAug-20-2017 3:56 PMYes, that was pretty cunning of David to downplay his drawing skills for Shaw!
Ok, I found a couple of pictures of David8 for you!
Here's one where he's feeling quite hopeful about his new found friendship with his Engineer pal!
Here's one where he fears Shaw is dead so he contemplates the very real possibility that he will therefore have to spend the remainder of his existence as a severed head in a dreary cave, and will never ever get to watch Lawrence of Arabia nor read Ozymandias again.
:)

MemberPraetorianAug-20-2017 7:03 PMThank you so much VivisectedEngineer!
I love them both but the gif on the bottom is priceless. He became a humble robot and asked for help from Dr. Shaw.

MemberChestbursterAug-20-2017 8:18 PM>He became a humble robot and asked for help from Dr. Shaw.
Too bad his humility didn't last, lol!
But, then again, he never did get to indulge in any of his hobbies again because he had to chauffeur Dr. Shaw on her fanatical wild-goose chase, so maybe that ticked him off a bit.
