I think the route they may have gone prior to AC would have fitted the David vs Goliath Arc and indeed we could see Davids Bombardment in AC of the Engineers as this.... in a sequel we know that RS wishes to introduce the Engineers and so maybe we could see a David vs Goliath encounter.

I think loosely we could follow Davids Arc as King David in the next movie, wishing to establish his own Kingdom.
