AVPR pros and cons

I've tried to like AVPR, hoped it might have been a grower, but there is just nothing likeable about the film. But I'll try 

Pro:

Wolf! Total badass Pred.

I sure as hell wasn't looking at the clock....but that scene where she got pwned by the Pred Shuriken was brutal!

It had Sam Merlott from True Blood in it....briefly

Cons:

Xeno design was terrible and stupid looking

Totally indifferent characters...every single one of them. Couldn't care less what happened to them.

Wolf and Predalien battle finale was lame

The whole fucking movie is a mess, it should be a prime example of how it should not be done.

I totally agree, when you have a movie without any interesting character you know that you have a complete turd. At least AC had Oram, Walter, and David was err… OK even though he was an android but most of the human characters were blank slates. Since I gave it a try I can honestly say that I watched it and it is now totally legitimate of me to call it what it is, a complete piece of crap. They should really never have created that movie (AVPR).

However, your assessment is valid imo.

she was pretty hot. I do agree the predator looked good tho, the one negative for me on wolf was the proportions. now I get the predator who does clean up duty such as this isn't ur normal hunter. hes gotta be an older seasoned bad ass whos probably don't clean up several times. I just thought the design was a touch off. when u see him close up hes a bad looking dude but when the camera is farther away u see a huge head and tiny waist which for me, just didn't look as good as it could have. it looked too much like a baseball on a cocktail stick for me and out of proportion. his equipment and the rest of his design was spot on for me but id have preferred him to have been stockier but im just nit picking.

This is a tough one....

Pros.....  Not Many Really...  The Predators looked Decent but this is something that is not very hard to do as its not much of a Man in a suit but more a Man in a Mask, so the LV-223 Engineers in Prometheus were harder to make.   This however is a benefit to the Predators as when Masked its hard to mess these guys up.

The Pred-Alien was interesting and also a good concept.

The Xenomorphs in some shots they did the job fine... you could tell the Quality was not as good as AVP and other Alien Franchise though... but in some shots they had the lower budget man in a suit look to them where they did come across a bit more of a Pumpkin Head with a Xenomorph Head look to them.  This was only as far as the Men-In-Suits Action scenes.

Action Scenes were ok for a Basic Popcorn Action.

Special Effects were ok but not up to the Standard at times you would expect from a Franchise that encompasses TWO iconic Franchises.

The CONS.... Basically Everything else.

The Plot was not so good... but this was also a sequel to the Flawed First Movie Plot.. (being set in the 21st Century)

The Execution was rather poor with sub standard Acting and Writing... This movie LOOKED and was Written/Acted like a Lowe Budget Straight to Cable Flick....   the Sharknados,  Alien Hunter and the like... so those made by SyFy Network HERE

In fact a number of them were Better...  so AVPR looked like a SyFy Network attempt at a AVP... where Budget for Effects was increased but sadly the Acting/Plot and Writing was at Sharknado levels lol

AVPR for me was a 3.5/10 Movie.  (Disappointing)

It gets better than a 3 from me just only because it does have a few redeemable Qualities and ideas.  I do think maybe 3.5/10 is also at times a bit generous.

AVP  in comparison gets a 5/10 (Average)
