Weyland-Yutani employs Cybrogs? Since when. Should have kept their tech exclusively Synthetics

In Alien: Earth, major corporations are fighting for the top spot technologically speaking, but I was under the impression Weyland-Yutani favored Android Synthetics while OTHER corporations were experimenting with Cyborgs and now Prodigy with the Hybrids... It would have made more sense and been more exciting to see Weyland-Yutani's Synths pit against another corporation's Cyborgs and then the Hybrids from Prodigy being thrown into the mix – exploiting pros and cons of each technology with respect to their mission objectives. But Morrow is a Cyborg working for Weyland-Yutani... This throws things off. Further to add, Prodigy has an Android Synthetic (Kirsh) working for them?! They should have swapped the roles, keep Synths exclusive Weyland-Yutani tech and the Cyborg / Hybrid being exclusive Prodigy tech. Would have made for some fun Terminator-style match-ups when the two corporations go head to head. I think it would've played out better.

It's probably just the old tech they used before switching to Androids, the Maginot was sent away 65 year ago. Obviously, at the end of the series, they're just going to say Weyland-Yutani won the corporate war and these other companies got bought out or dissolved, failed, whatever.

Potentially old tech arguments, but the Cyborg seems quite advanced compared to the David 8 model developed 35 years AFTER the Maginot left Earth. You would think David would have been an advanced Cyborg as well if it was the “tech of the day”. This is why continuity matters and why I’m sad continuity doesn’t seem to matter for this series. 😔

Well, no Morrow is not more advanced than David. Morrow is just a human with some tech implants/upgrades and a cybernetic limb, David is a full on android and is completely artificial in construct.

There have been some cyborgs in the comics i'm pretty sure, though the comics are not considered canon.
