What's not shown in the trailers
Goddamn Tropics in here
MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 7:06 AMIn my opinion Fox showed us too much in the Prometheus trailers as good as they were
Davids decapitated head, Prometheus crashing into the Juggernaut, a Live Engineer etc
Surely Riddles will not make the same mistake and show us almost everything?
I think the Proto and Neo have been shown in their full glory already as there is something better to come?
Some of what we have been shown shown still remains very ambiguous
Egg Creation
True Extent of Davids work and ambitions
Shaws Fate - Monster, Butchered, Dead, Back Story, Alive somewhere
The Planets inhabitants and their back story / Death
David and Walters confrontation as this will no doubt be epic
Walters true colours
The company's knowledge and Intentions
What do you think is still to come and how do you think it will pan out?

MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 7:19 AMWell, I think fox has done a fantastic job with the lead in so far. We still know virtually NOTHING about the real story line and NOTHING about the answers to overlying questions. The trailers gave us a peek at the atmosphere and the creatures, but the story is what is yet to be revealed, and it looks to be a doozy!

MemberOvomorphMar-03-2017 7:26 AM- Cliffhanger ending, could be in the bigger ship that is still in orbit. 2000 colonists on board and perhaps a sleeping James Franco awaits Walter and Daniels but gets David instead :-)
- Davids path to become a creator himself (Prometheus Myth) and take over what his ancestors started.
- Brief moments with the engineers and what happened to them.
- Shaws present status, dead or alive.
- Further evolution of the black goo to the alien species, which affects the environment infected by it.
- Perhaps the Deacon and it´s purpose.
- The creators of the engineers and our purpose as human beings.
- Covenant deal between two individuals, who make a contract that cannot be broken or havoc will befall you. (Noahs Arc)
- Another version of Covenant, the arc from Indiana Jones, where its a weapon of great power and destruction. Could explain how so many Engineers / Humans die in the 2nd trailer.
- Hopefully a fully suprising moment like in Alien 1979 the jockey in the chair and in Prometheus the ampule room and little hints.
Most of what we have seen is the movie, with little key moments and a cliffhanger.

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 7:28 AMI totally agree that Ridley will not make the mistake of showing us too much. I think there is a very slim chance that someone has brought a cat along.

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 7:31 AMTrue That.. I basically have no clue whats going on in this movie. I think they have shown a couple scenes with creatures just to show that this will be a bloody movie with aliens in it, but I think there will be a lot more going on. I hope the movie is almost 3 hours long. Im pretty sure they will keep us hanging at the end of the movie to set up the next movie. Im ok with that too.

MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 7:34 AM@Ryan_C I agree, the longer the movie the better. It's gotta be at least 2 and a half hours right?
Starlogger
MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 7:37 AM@Dr. Curt It'd better be 2.5 hrs plus! Total epic mode!

MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 7:45 AM@Starlogger Yeah for real, I hope longer too! 2 and a half hours should be at the very least the shortest runtime. Let's hope for a Kingdom of Heaven director's cut style!

"Longer equals better..." Sometimes.
If this movie transforms into "Legends of the Fall" or "Titanic" I'm going to be pissed...

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 7:49 AMGood work Starlogger, I was wondering what the running time would work out as, as the movie does appear to cover a lot of ground what what we can anticipate. Just a bit of a sidenote, on the tchnical specs movie was shot in aspect ratio : 1.90:1 (70mm IMAX 3D version). This looks like it will be an epic movie, and I really want to see it on an epic screen.

MemberOvomorphMar-03-2017 7:56 AMthe length 2 hours max similar to Prometheus with a few extended scenes on blu ray and small teaser after the credits run out in cinema
Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 7:59 AM@suwhited No think The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Kingdom of Heaven(director's cut), Watchmen(director's cut)! All movies over 2 and a half hours and all on my favorites list! The Dark Knight Trilogy are my favorite movies of all time! Hope those are good examples for you?

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 8:18 AMOne thing for sure Riddles loves his malfunctioning Syntetics
Blade Runner, Alien, Prometheus
I think he's going to knock it out of the ball park with the depth of Davids work, or I hope he will
I think Davids end game will be what's on board the Covenant
Run time, I just hope the pace of the film is spot on, 2.5 hours would be very nice

MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 8:36 AMI also think the Prometheus trailers revealed too much but they didn't ruin a film that turned out to be very underwhelming anyway imo.
As for Alien Covenant, I still feel like there's a lot of things yet to be revealed without being hinted at from clips from the trailers.
Like Tropics mentioned already; Shaw's fate, the eggs (that either acts like symbolism in the film or just for marketing purposes considering how often we've seen it in pictures and the trailers, David's agenda and the "creation" aspect, and where/if W-Y fits into it all (which I suspect)

Watchmen was a great movie for me, Kingdom of heaven was okay...I know a lot of people liked Dark Knight rises but am not a big fan of it...
Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King are some of my favorites
Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 8:53 AM@suwhited Cool. Did you like Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings?

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 8:59 AM@Dr. Connors
Actually haven't watched it yet...heard it was really good..As soon as I get a chance, I'll watch it.

MemberChestbursterMar-03-2017 9:01 AM@suwhited Yeah I enjoyed it! Christian Bale is my favorite actor so I watch everything he is in and also own a ton of movies he is in! Yeah it's a good flick!

MemberFacehuggerMar-03-2017 10:02 AMBit of piste, but runtime and pace are very important
Some of the best Sci-fi flicks ever made are as follows
Blade Runner 1.57
Alien 1.57
Matrix 2.5 hours
Terminator 2 2.34
Empire Strikes back 2.07
Aliens 2.34
2001 2.41
I would take a well paced 2.35, but nothing over 2.5 hours?
