Is this a hammerpede shown in the Alien: Covenant movie poster?

MemberPraetorianMar-27-2017 5:10 AMGavin Singleton, BigDave, and Ati have all been better than myself at the analysis of this image.
Can any of you confirm the potential hammerpede shaded below?

MemberDeaconMar-27-2017 5:38 AMHard to make out but there are TWO parts of the image that could be taken as Hammerpede or similar
Its one of those Images that is so ambiguous that its hard to tell
I was always under the impression that the Hammerpedes could have been a potential starting point to the Xenomorph well at least those Chest Busted Cryo-sleep Engineers.
Because Hammerpedes had came from those Worms which.
*Where on LV-223 before the Prometheus Arrived and so potentially also their at the time of the Outbreak 2000 years ago.
*If they are like most Worms then they would be Egg Layers.
Part of the attempted Re-work of Lindeloffs draft i was working with TWO different ways to highlight the Hammerpedes having Eggs, and small very Xeno looking Eggs but only small in size

MemberPraetorianMar-27-2017 12:21 PMI posted on Gavin's thread that this looked kinda like a hammerpede with folded ears, or it could just be an arm!

MemberDeaconMar-28-2017 2:00 AMIt could be either... thats why its a very ambigious peice of Work.
But indeed Lone, thats what i also saw as i Highlighted with the A in the image i posted, and also the other one which looks like some kind of Manta-ray could also be a Hammerpede type Organism or then something else.

MemberPraetorianMar-28-2017 3:56 AMIndeed Dave, I posted about the manta-ray type creature too.
It remains to be seen whether they are purely decorative, or perhaps the result of the dead beings experiments with species once indigenous to their planet, or even other worlds.
I can't wait to find out exactly what happened on that planet!

MemberDeaconMar-28-2017 5:24 AMI am not sure what we will see, a lot depends if this Poster is in the movie as some kind of Mural.
Otherwise all it is showing us is indeed the various potential creations that are a result of the Black Goo Bio-Weapon or what ever Organic Life it was created from.
Giger Designed 3 kinds of Face Hugger, Prometheus concept had various designs for Hammerpedes and Trilobite and Spaights draft had 8 versions of the Organism
So as this Poster shows us TWO kinds of Face Hugger and we see in Davids Workshop at least THREE kinds (one as a drawing) never mind other Organisms that are related maybe to the Face Huggers.
Indeed who can tell how many different kinds of Hammerpede could be created too.

MemberPraetorianMar-28-2017 1:18 PMGreat segregation distortion and shading Batchpool.
That doesn't look like a Trilobite tentacle (shaded) wrapped around the Engineer head..so something we haven't see before. Really great job on distortion.
I'm glad they released the image in high definition but had it been distorted in the way you did it, I would have been just fine with that too.

MemberFacehuggerMar-28-2017 2:41 PM@ Ingeniero Cheers, glad you like, much appreciated.
The tentacle wrapped around the Engineers reminded me of a tail design I had seen for the Hammerpede. I think you could be right that it is something we have not seen yet. :)

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2017 11:06 AMIf you remember the 'armour' the Engineers wear, it appears as if one of the Xeno's has an Engineer's arm wrapped around it's throat. It's obviously a forearm, elbow and shoulder. They're definitely not winning though. There's a lot of 'fill' where parts obviously don't belong to anything. A beautiful poster though, I really like it.

MemberPraetorianMar-29-2017 1:34 PMFirebrand, yes I really like the poster too and agree regarding the Engineers in your statement below.
"They're definitely not winning though."
Your statement above is the only confirmation of what is on the movie poster discussed. And you didn't need graphics to prove your point. The Engineers have real challenges ahead if this isn't a dream sequence shown in the movie poster.

MemberPraetorianMar-29-2017 1:48 PMI broke the movie poster down into 3 vertical strips and enhanced the images. I also zoomed in and overexposed a couple of areas, also included below.
