If they were from Shaw how did david get sperm to impregnate her?

I think David would first learn better the properties and possible usage of the black goo before experimenting with Shaw, that is when these humanoid skulls could be of use. Where do they come from, or from who, I think would remain a mistery untill the movie comes out.

I think this Topic is one many are overlooking as these Skulls have to be either a oversight we wont never know about and are not expected to see.

I thought they was used along with the Turkey/Chicken Skeletons as to help the Creature Designers take some Anatomical Inspirations from in Design, but these all do appear in the Actual Movie...

Its a case of will they have any explanation?

The purpose of this Topic is to discuss if they do play a role, as this would certainly explain how David can Experiment with the Black Goo. 

We see David has been working on the Study of Engineers Anatomy,  we see he has been experimenting with variations of Experiments from the Black Goo, and studied and maybe created various Face Hugger related Organisms and God knows what else.

For him to meet the Ends of his Agenda.. we can surely assume he wants to create a Organism that infects Humanoids, then he would surely need Humanoids to Perfect such a Creation.

so here are some possible explanations.

1) If these beings on Paradise had upset their Hierarchy and was punished and had all Females taken away, so they had no means to Procreate, they would have to find other means to do this... Which is something confirmed by Spaights and Lindeloffs as far as our Engineers.

So we have to wonder if the Disaster Event was thousands of years ago, and killed off all the Females, then WOULD these beings or Engineers had found another means to Procreate. Maybe CLONING?

2) Did a Few Engineers/these beings on Paradise survive and if there are Males and Females or just Females, i am sure this means David could experiment.

But in order to Create Babies, again we have to wonder do the Engineers have ways to Clone instead?  Or can David find some way to allow for Procreation without the Need for Sperm?  Or indeed does he acquire Sperm from Male Engineers

3) As above but are these Survivors on the Juggernaught in Cryo-sleep and even if there is only Male Engineers on the Ship i am sure maybe David could use them to Impregnate Shaw?

4) Does David meet some of these beings that survived and he made a Covenant with them that would allow them to experiment with Shaw so that she is Granted the Gift of Child Birth.

I am trying to think of what a Horrific Fate could await Shaw... i am sure how shocking it would be if David or Engineers could manage to Fix her Infertility and so she could now Bare Children...  

Only for these to be used as merely Test Subjects

So indeed its a interesting Question to look at, because indeed those are Humanoid Skulls, and its interesting to ask Where did they come from.. and if they belong to Shaw well that could be a Horrific Event.

I'm hoping the catastrophic event happened ages ago and links into LV-223 and the derelict on LV-426. I really don't want David to be the cause of it all.

I think David inherited that Specimen Lab, and has been carrying on with his own version of their experiments. He may have had cells, blood, DNA, cloned material, or who knows what else to utilise. As you suggest, he would then have a means to create life using Shaw as the progenitor. 

There may even have been one, or a few beings still alive when he arrived there with Shaw. These beings may have been experimenting with ways to procreate, using other species initially. The humanoid babies may have been the final aim, perhaps that enraged the creator hierarchy and that was what ultimately led to their downfall, or their sub-creations- the proto-morb/alien lifecycle, led to their deaths, or a combination of both?

Indeed its a interesting debate..

Because Spaights and Lindeloff did say the Engineers could at one time Procreate, but they lost that ability and had to result to other means of Procreation.

If these beings on Paradise are the Forerunners to the Engineers or even a Creation by them, we can maybe see this as being their attempt to create a being to Procreate from which they had Lost... or indeed if they are Engineers then maybe this is where they lost Females, and then had to resort to other Methods.

It leads a interesting idea as far as to why was Mankind created and we saw the Engineer did seem pretty interested in Shaw, which i made a thread last year about Females being the Reason for the Fall..  Because in many Cultures and Mythos, Man and the Gods had a Lust for 3 Things..  Power, Gold and Females  and we even see his explored in the Bible when some of the Angels (Sons of God) lusted for Female Humans (Daughters of Man)

IF..... indeed these beings had become a threat to their creators and having the ability to Procreate for a creation that does not do as intended and is Rebellious is a serous Problem (just as in hindsight if the Xeno Queen is a intended part of the Bio-Weapon what a error that could had proved).

Then if these beings had all but been killed off, Females and All as those Disaster Scenes show... and a few Male Survivors where kept as they looked at alternate ways to Procreate them where they have more control... so like Cloning.

If there are a Few Left on Paradise or Indeed on that Juggernaught, and the Loss of Females being taken from them is what happened... you can only Wander how interested they would be to find Shaw.

when the Source i had was talking about Prometheus 2 in the loose and vague way they was.... they did hint at, and even mentioned seeing Concept work of what they described as Stasis like Pods, much like those in the Matrix that was growing Humanoid Babies.   They even said that David has more in Common with those LV-223 Engineers than we do.

Now thats a odd statement because David is Synthetic, the Engineers are Organic.... so they could mean as far as the Engineers being Created for a Specific Purpose they Rebelled against like we have seen with David... or maybe they are created by other means and not like how we are created (Procreate with Sex)

Then indeed the potential for them being Grown like say how the Clones are in the Movie The 6th Day could be a explanation for our LV-223 Engineers?

We do have to ask if the Disaster on Paradise took out there Females and so they could not Procreate this way, then surely Cloning would be the way to go, rather than the Long Drawn out Process the Sacrificial Scene showed.

So indeed we see the LV-223 Engineers are Technologically more Advanced than those on Paradise, if these are the same beings of was the same, then maybe a Section of these could have OBTAINED Technology that led to the LV-223 Engineers, and such a Advanced Race/Technology would Cloning not be something they surely could do?

Ridley Scott did say the Sacrificial Scene is not the only way they can Procreate, its just they way they choose to do it.

If its not the Engineers but those above them, who are the ones who are creating the Engineers via other means after Destroying a Previous Generation and taking away the possibility to Procreate with Females that would also potentially mean that we cant rule out CLONED Engineers.

Maybe the scene the source described could thus hold some Merit? They appear to have been correct with a number of things that have come to light...

If this indeed is also Correct, i guess this is where those Baby Skulls could come from?

Yes the LV-223 Engineers always struck me as being clones, and the cryo Engineer appeared to view Shaw with some interest, almost recognition. I know it was only for a split second before everything kicked off, but it was as if he was surprised by her presence, as if she reminded him of something he once knew, a female species, long extinct?

Strange how Ford seemed to hold no interest for him, unless as I always suspected, she was nothing more than a medi-bot! 

Wow, you guys are onto something with the woman thing. Could it be that the goo itself is the Prometheus fire? Maybe even the "good" engineers stole the goo? Maybe without women they could not make new life, so they stole a way to do it.

Is "life" the fire of the Prometheus story? Is "life" (not fire) what the engineers were not supposed to give us? Life is - after all - like a fire.

I think now the movie is out, we indeed see many Questions that we can debate regarding how David managed to have all those Experiments that at least 8-10 would have need a Humanoid Host for..

So Logically where did David obtain these..... did he help Shaw to give birth to Children.. for David to Experiment on?
