Will the Covenant Land on the Planet

No, but I think that one part will be detached and landed in a rescue attempt, and that is what we see in the end of one of the trailers, when the Protomorph ist trying headbutt its way in through the windshield.

PP, yes maybe the lander piloted by Tennessee will detach, but the Covenant has to be at a lower level for this to happen?

Or Tennessee fails with the lander and the last resort is the Covenant, maybe piloted by Franco if the leaked script is false about him?

It is a one way trip so I don't see why they would leave any part of it in orbit. There may be a smaller shuttle type ship too?

Still nothing with Shaw in these clips...I am dying to know what her deal is in this film, if anything-

DK - As the Planet is not their original destination, perhaps the crew vote for leaving the Covenant (and its very important cargo) in orbit and send down a lander

The initial lander that blows up comes from above.

One would assume Tennessee's flat lander is the rescue mission from the Covenant, again from above?

Does this flat lander achieve its mission or does it get headbutted into submission!?

One last chance, send down the main ship to get them and sod what it's carrying!?

Tenesse and Daniels are suited up for space, which looks like the end of the film, so Covenant back in orbit for the scrap for survival and the Juicy cargo

@Dave81 - With the mystery levels surround Shaw, it better be something good!

However with the announcement of Awakening, will we just see Shaw flashbacks and breadcrumbs?

I am not familiar with the leaked script! And I am not sure I want to know... (smile) The last resort thing is a good point though. Or could it be that the flatlander makes it back to orbit and the Covenant, and due to the damage to the flatlander they have to suit up to get to the Covenant?

Right. It may have taken a different path but wasn't intended to return to Earth or where they left from. At the final destination I would think they would take everything as not to waste any materials. Someone suggested in a different thread that the ship may be modular and could seperate landing that way.

PP - To be fair, as far as head buts go, you could be on to something!

DK - I think you could be right and the Covenant will have a few more surprises up its sleeves, it could end up being a new haunted house in space...

PP - The last week or so has pushed my expectation levels to 8/10, really hoping for a 9

I really hope he pulls it off and creates a modern classic....

I'm guessing Covenant has to come in and land, for assorted reasons, but won't be taking off again. As for Shaw, i'm really trying not to speculate on her fate/involvement in the story. I AM curious, but don't wanna drive myself crazy.

I think Shaw Slaps David with a "Red" Hugger for being a prick after he turns her into a Queen......J/K

I've just got a feeling that Shaw ends up as one of his earlier failed experiments.
