How does Shaw play into this?

 That green globe, is it a planet, or an image of the black goo virus? Perhaps she's the one who coordinates the bombing and not David after all.

if set reports are true, shaw has been holding up in some engineer style cabin with a few spacesuits.

now if shaw and david dropped the payload, then they somehow crashed on the planet.  

shaw would need to hide as the place was infested with alien and mountains of the goo.

after a period of time she could of:

been killed by an alien going outside (doubt it boring)

escaped with or without davids help

been tricked by david ends up "queen theory" or an experiment

those are the main options i think.  perhaps the hologram of shaw is from flying the jugganaut with / without david

I think she is piloting the ship to get out of Paradise....and she got shot down...

I hope that we see more of Noomi than just the hologram.  I think Ridley should have stuck with her for all the next movies, she could have been the new Ripley...

I think if she only filmed for the hologram, she wouldn't have had to go down under, but I think she did travel to Oz for some filming?  Anyone know if that's true?

@Qubism, agree.  She is a feminine woman but has a tough streak in her.  Of course the film isn't doing Waterston any favors in presentation.  She is a knockout.

@Qubism, i did read on this site that she did come down to sydney later on for filming of her scenes, but you never know she could have been down here all along? not long now till we find out.

Shaw will appear in the movie ;)  More than Hollogram too.

This Footage, who knows she is in the control chair and i think the Audio could be a misdirection and is not from this shot.

It appears Shaw is a bit rushed and panicking in this shot, and her eye line is drawn to the Pilot Chair at the point where the Telescopic Device ends, just about Space Jockey Pilot Head Height.

We can only assume David had told her he is required in one piece to control the ship.  So there is the Question where does she learn to Fly it?

Or is she just randomly trying to mess with the controls to prevent David or Aid him in doing something?

We will find out soon enough.

I'm guessing we might only get a taste of Shaw's fate in the movie. Here's why.

Based off Logan's comments in that interview,"what happened to Shaw?" is one of the questions he wanted to answer in Alien Covenant. This first led me to believe that we will be getting full disclosure. Then I started thinking about the premise of Alien Awakening.

If we got the entire story of what happens in Covenant, how will it be of much interest to see an entire film (Awakening) dedicated to a backstory we already saw in Covenant.

Then I began thinking about the title "Awakening" and it's significance. If that movie is meant to tell the story of David and Shaw between Prometheus and AC, then I am guessing Awakening is a reference to David transcending his programming. This may be based on the concept from the prototype script for Prometheus where David transcends binary and achieves trinary.

In considering all this, my guess is in Covenant we will learn that David went "trinary" and somehow did away with Shaw (either via experiments or direct murder.)

This will set up a stronger desire to watch it all unfold in Awakening.

QueenElizabethShaw I agree with your line of thinking. I am thinking AC will be an over all dark movie with a bad ending (still a great movie) somewhat how Empire Strikes Back was pretty dark with a bad ending in its day. Sorry if that comparison makes little sense.

That part I'm fairly certain of. What follows is me letting my imagination run wild on that theory:

It's even possible we'll see a modified version of the scene from the "ALIEN: Engineers" script where David forces the facehugger on Shaw. Except instead of a facehugger, perhaps it will be a black goo, insect DNA, android DNA cocktail.

OR, maybe he turned on Shaw, bombed the sub-engineers while Shaw was in hiding, Shaw emerges from hiding to try to stop him but crashes the ship and is paralyzed, then David begins abducting male black goo victims from paradise, has an infected sub-engineer rape her, she produces a new trilobite (and dies during it's birth), then David sets that loose on a remaining sub-engineer, a deacon/queen is born, makes some eggs and dies (short lifespan). Then David realizes he has no humanoids left to set the egg on so he waits, dreaming of what's inside his eggs, keeping himself busy drawing sketches.

Awakening holds many possibilities. I'm hoping they will be even more horrifying than my nonsensical speculations
