Ridley Scott reveals future of Alien Franchise

I cant seem to get it to play, i will have to wait for a alternative source as my security settings wont allow it and seems a lot of back ground stuff is going on so i dont disable my security lol

I have read the extract though...

So Ridley Scott is implying that the Next movie we will get a clear idea who the Space Jockey is, and seems to confirm its a Space Suit.

This means all those hopping it was a different Race or indeed a Skeleton will be disappointed.

But it leaves the identity at the moment as open, so it could be a Engineer, Elder, Human, Android* or another Humanoid.

*Doubtful, unless somehow a Android is evolved or is a Synthetic Construct ;)

But we know from his previous comments that Alien Awakening as he let slip is set between Prometheus year 2094 and Alien Covenant year 2104

If this is correct, it could hint at a prior event to Alien Covenant, i thought it would be left open by the next prequel to Alien Covenant movie, and a 3RD Movie would finally show us.

But it seems by the end of Alien Awakening we will either directly know or have enough clues to actually know who the Space Jockey was.

This means there is hope that as Ridley had said all along prior to AC that the Space Jockey was a Engineer.

I wonder if it shows us that David pays a visit to LV-426 once Shaw is in Cryo-sleep?

In the actual video just after the excerpt, Scott confirms it is indeed an engineer. Also in not being able to see the video, you aren't missing much. There isn't a lot more to be gleaned from the video after that moment.

I think that video may have been misleadingly edited. Ridley has already confirmed recently several times that the next film will be a prequel to Covenant which will seem to largely focus on David and Shaw between the events of Prometheus and Covenant.

When he said Covenant will be a sequel to the prequel (Prometheus) it looks/sounds like they edited out a segment right after he says "and then" and smoothly jumped to him saying "after that if we haven't run out of steam we'll then come back in, back to the rear end of Alien 1".

There actually seemed to be a lot of moments of this video that were edited out. (probably for time and clarity)

It was not confirmed that Awakening is a movie. He mentioned the title and everybody shit their pants thinking it was a movie, in fact, it could just be the book that has been talked about. So no, it is not confirmed.

The space jockey could be just a really big engineer then, or a hybrid engineer/android, as the engineers dont seem to have developed that technology. Either way, what the jockey is doing, why they are doing it and who shoots them down is intriguing.

To be honest I'm surprised there isn't more spotlight on the world premiere today on this website. As for like media coverage. So far nothing really..

@BigDave I honestly like a third movie finally revealing information about the Space Jockey and LV-426..I can't wait for a third prequel film if that's the case..Here's hoping AC will get great reviews and be a box office hit so we'll get more Alien films in the future.
