Lack of Promotion for ALIEN: COVENANT North of The Border!

MemberPraetorianMay-06-2017 1:13 AMThe impression I have is that there has been a surprising lack of promotion and advertising for ALIEN: COVENANT in Northern Scotland.
I did spot a bus (with the correct advertising on it's side) a couple of days ago.
With the exception of one trailer on FOX, I have not seen a single televised trailer or TV spot. However, I do work at night so that could offer some explanation for this!
Considering that the film is being released next week in the UK, I was expecting much more in the way of promotion.
Michael Fassbender appeared on last nights Graham Norton Show, but not until towards the end of the show and there was a short scene shown, with not much time spent on discussing the film.
Apparently Michael Fassbender had come straight from the London World Premier (before the film was actually shown), to be on the show. So that would explain his late arrival and short lived appearance.
When I attended the A L I E N Day showing of Prometheus and Alien DC there were no special collectors giveaways, no collectible ticket, as promised with the purchase of the Alien Superticket and no posters handed out.
I'm hoping there will be at least a poster giveaway when I see the early release showing of the film on 11th May!
Have any other UK members had this experience?

MemberFacehuggerMay-06-2017 5:35 AMIt is the same in the North West. There is a distinct lack of advertising. I put it down to the constant barrage of election debates that have swamped local media. That said, there is no excuse for some decent poster advertising. Most people I know tend to get their info from the internet these days and word of mouth. I would expect that there should be greater coverage from tabloids in this Sunday’s press.

MemberFacehuggerMay-06-2017 5:50 AMI'm SW England and only saw my first billboard advert this week. Maybe one on a bus as well iirc.
I have to admit a tiny bit of wee came out . . . ;)

As far as Advertising a few Buses have the Poster since about end of March Early April so about 5-6 weeks and a few Advertising Boards have the Poster Pasted on them.
London has had more things covered to Promote the movie though :(
I think its a disservice to Alien Day Ticket Holders up North who dont get the same give aways as others.. thats not fair at all.
But then London does take Priority and maybe they never produced enough Goodies to go around, which is a shame.

MemberPraetorianMay-06-2017 8:48 AMHAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG DAVE!! Cheers, Oh Great One! X
It's always been the same regarding give aways for films up here. Back in October 2004 when the A L I E N Directors Cut was released in UK cinemas we got nothing.
People in London etc got lots of free giveaways, there was a DVD, dog tags, posters and other goodies. I managed to buy a copy of the DVD and a set of the dog tags online later, but it's hardly fair!
Still, when it comes to my favourite film, need outweighs cost! ;)

In my case it was surprise at finally seeing some advertising. I was thinking *about bloody time!* :)
