I would still love to hear Ridley Scott filmed more of what is described in the Alien: Covenant Origins prequel novel when the actors were together in November 2016.

The reshoots were in a Warner Bros. Studios (Alien: Covenant is a 20th Century Fox property) and a great portion of the prequel novel just happens to be set in the same geographic area as the studio (London). Blade Runner is a Warner Bros. property.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a surprise Alien announcement at the Blade Runner 2049 premiere?
It is a long shot but the surprise itself would excellent marketing for an Alien: Covenant prequel.

Right now the evidence is very small but we can dream that it will become a very big thing.
I'm still holding on to the Ridley Scott "14 months" quote (above).
14 months is approximately the time from the end of filming Alien: Covenant to December of this year (the original opening date for Alien: Covenant).

Yes, it would! :D
I'm sure there will be an announcement about the AU at the end of October.

MemberDeaconSep-29-2017 2:53 PMFingers crossed... i think a lot depend on the aftermath/fall out of AC and if FOX reconsider changes.... this would no doubt delay the process.
I think they should stick to their guns with the plans they had before the reception of AC got, we already saw FOX/RS bow out and give in to what it thought Fans wanted XENOMORPHS...
I just hope they dont see the Engineers and David as being less important than the Xenomorphs and making a connection to Ripley.

We are on the same page BigDave. I do believe Ridley Scott is developing concepts for the long game and we can be thankful that he said the words "Engineers will be in the next film" or something close to that.
I certainly would trade a mystery revelation related to Ripley for an update on the Engineers, David 8, and Dr. Shaw saying "no, not happening" to David 8 in regards to his plans for her internal organs.
That had to be a spat for the ages.

MemberTrilobiteOct-01-2017 1:19 PMBigDave It is tough to think of anything much worse than referencing Ripley- then it would start getting into fate/predestination territory.

MemberNeomorphOct-22-2017 7:37 AMI wouldn't mind if they tone down the AI part but I don't want a connection to Ripley. Hopefully they will get the Engineer part right. No more Ripley, thanks (she is done). Also if they do some re-shoots I hope that they add parts that make the characters more interesting.

MemberPraetorianOct-22-2017 6:39 PMWe are certainly on the same page Thoughts_Dreams regarding the Engineers and no Ripley amazing tie-in (lame). The Engineers are what I most look forward to (hopefully) in the next film.

MemberNeomorphOct-25-2017 8:05 AMIngeniero: Yeah the Engineers could be interesting but I mostly hope that we will get better human characters and that they will have the story centered around the humans. They got to have something so it won't totally be the David show because that would suck. Since the Engineers got bombed out in Covenant I hope that they will be featured in a way because they seem more interesting now looking back at the David movie.
