ALIEN: Manticore Now Available!!
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianOct-06-2017 12:57 PMAfter a long stretch, and considerable patience on the part of everyone here, ALIEN: Manticore is now finished and available on Scribd!
LINK: ALIEN: Manticore
As it is fan-fiction, it is--of course--available without charge.
Please take a moment to read the Dedication, as it is Dedicated to all of you here as well as those who built this beloved franchise. :)
Okay, here's the link to the story on Issuu...however I have to become a Premium publisher to be allowed to select the 'download' function for the audience.
HOWever...I have a work-around...though the formatting issue from converting from RTF to PDF are GLARING and bother me greatly, the story is still the same.
The following links SHOULD allow downloads if Scribd gives you grief.
I don't think you need to sign up for the trial on Scribd though, I think you can close that window/pop-up with the 'x' in the upper right corner and then use the 'download' function...but if not, there's the links below. :)

MemberPraetorianOct-06-2017 2:51 PMThank you!
I'll need some extra days containing 48 hours each, but that's OK, I'll jump into it. :)

MemberPraetorianOct-06-2017 3:16 PMThanks for saying guys!! :D
Yeah, it's a long book, and at one point I almost decided to make it a two-section piece with ALIEN: Manticore as well as ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise' included. :D
However, that would have really delayed things, and could have caused other problems for readers, so I went back to the plan of releasing each as it's own work.
ALIEN: MANTICORE 'Paradise' is on my worktable, as is a short story I've had hanging around for a while which explores what I think is a satisfyingly different historical connection between The Alien and the Engineers...and can easily tie into the present-canon of David having been playing with trying to recreate certain past discoveries of the Engineers whilst still preserving The Alien as the magnificent nightmare it is. ;)

MemberOvomorphOct-12-2017 3:53 AMI needed something to read while on holiday, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on Dan Brown’s latest.

MemberPraetorianOct-12-2017 4:40 PMThank-you for saying!! :)
Glad you consider it a 'holiday book', people can be very picky about such, so that classification means a lot to me!
As does you're mentioning that I beat out an established and quite well-known novelist in your choice of selection!!!
You can imagine what that means to me in hearing that!!
Also, of course, I'm very glad you're enjoying it!! Thank-you again for taking the time to let me know! :D

MemberPraetorianJul-31-2018 12:12 AMOH...damn. I have to re-do some links.
TOTALLY slipped my mind, and I apologize guys. I'll be getting on with that immediately after I post this.
First as Links here in the replies, then I'll re-do the others.
Again, sorry guys, entirely my goof-up.
Senientdark, TY for asking for the link, as I appreciate you wanting to read it and you also reminded of a LONG overdue thing I will now correct. :)

MemberPraetorianJul-31-2018 12:27 AMHere we go...
I moved things over to my 'Pen Name' account to simplify things...and forgot some crucial steps...again, I am sorry.
The links are set to open in a new window, just fyi, as I thought such makes it easier for people.
ALIEN: The Lander is a short stroy that directly ties-in to ALIEN: Manticore, just to say.
Doesn't matter what order you read them in as they are happening at the same time. :)

TY!!
Nice to be back! I'll be around here more now as things are getting settled. Life has it's myriad demands and distractions as we all know :)
I might wander off now and then, but the ALIENverse is Home. :)
Be it ever so dark-scary and slobbery...there's no place like home. :D

Home is where the hugs are... :D
That said, and I loved the Wizard of Oz reference BTW. :) ...
I AM working on the follow-up to ALIEN: Manticore. However such is suspended until summer's done with, as when it gets too warm, I cannot think. Tried working through it, and the results of that experiment proved that yeah, I should just wait for Fall to continue with it.
I also working on some ideas for other tales set in the ALIENverse, different people and places, but a better look into what lay behind that simple/complex word that names our fave franchise. ;)
It's a BIG galaxy out there...and the word-concept 'ALIEN' covers a LOT of ground.

Has Manticore been picked up by FOX/Titan Books/Dark Horse yet and about to be turned into a blockbuster #1 seller!
XD

AdminEngineerAug-01-2018 6:43 AMVery well done! Thanks for sharing this with us :)
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianAug-01-2018 10:55 PMNo, not so far. But who knows what tomorrow's gonna bring especially with the the way the acquisition deal is stirring things up? :)
In the end, while such would be a real achievement, I wrote those stories for the Fanbase of ALIEN. You, dk, Chris and everyone else here that loves this franchise.
That was my primary motivation: To give you all a good ALIENverse story, and it continues to be my primary motivation as I work on ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise'. :)

MemberXenomorphAug-02-2018 5:39 AMExcellent book!
My only problem is that it's too logical and well written, not used to such high standard in the Alien verse! :-)

well written . . .easy to get lost in the story and fast and choc full of action . . . .ill soon start on manticore . . .cannot wait (rubbing hands together in anticipation). . .oh and THANK YOU :)

MemberPraetorianAug-03-2018 11:29 PMYou're very welcome and Thank-you very much for posting and letting myself and others know what you thought of it!! I really appreciate that a lot!!
As for 'MOOOORE', heh, well, it's no secret that The Lander ties in Directly to ALIEN: Manticore so that should, I hope, quell your cravings. :D
I'm not done with Manticore and it's crew of merry mayhem-wreakers, as I have a follow-up novel/book in the works: ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise' and one to follow up on that one. The third is as-yet untitled, but I have scratched down some development ideas for it.
Some 'teasers' regarding ALIEN: Manticore 'Paradise'....
I will be ensuring that the story 'The Resolution of Walter' does tie-in properly.
There wil be some ship-vs-ship combat.
The 'legacy' of David's pathogen-bombing will be addressed.
I am very much looking fwd to getting back to it this Fall when it cools off enough for me to write, in the meantime I'm getting all the development and refinement work done.
That all said, once again; THANK-YOU to all of you who read and enjoy my literary efforts!!

MemberChestbursterAug-04-2018 5:09 AMIs the only way to download your writings through a 30-day free trial?
I'm surprised if it is.
There is one website that comes to mind that I think would do better. That is Issuu. I've loaded and searched for things on their numerous times. It's great! People can read things in a magazine format and can download things for free. It's a fun website.
I really don't want to start a 30-day free trial with Scribd, but that's just me.
Blackwinter-witch
MemberPraetorianAug-04-2018 9:15 PM30 day trial??
That's new...and Unwelcome, as I am NOT charging anything for MY stories and if they think they're gonna make coin off me for free, they are gravely mistaken.
Okay, I'll be looking into that and also looking for an alternate means of making my stories available to people WITHOUT such issues.
Issuu?
Sounds worth a look-see, Thank-You for mentioning it!!

MemberTrilobiteAug-04-2018 11:48 PMBlackwinter-witch Know what I would pay for? An audio version. I get what you are saying and appreciate your work.
For the amount of work you have put into this, I hope you are shopping it somehow because it deserves way more attention than a fan fiction labor of love. You deserve more compensation than accolades.
