Miss You Guys (2.0)

MemberChestbursterJun-20-2018 2:13 PMAlright guys! So, I tried this yesterday and posted in the wrong place due to sleep deprivation!
(After all, my present mission is- Priority one: insure safety and comfort of new (perfect) organism. All other considerations secondary. Sleep expendable. ;-)
I haven't posted in a long time and in fact, had lost my password (Svanya was super helpful at getting me logged back in! THANK YOU!!! :D )
Every once in a while I still get updates in my email from people commenting on my fan fics or my cake! I really appreciate the kind words.
Maybe it's sort of vain of me to think anyone might be wondering about me, but I know I'm the sort of worry wart who would wonder and assume the worst.
So, just wanted to let you all know that I haven't died of rabies or anything like that and things turned out well for me! I've got a beautiful baby boy (he's teething right now, but otherwise in good spirits).
My friend offered to throw me an Alien themed baby shower but I declined.
I do hope to introduce the kiddo to Alien around 10 or 11 years from now, based on everyone's responses to the thread about when you first encountered Alien.
Seems like sort of a rite of passage but my husband thinks that's too early. I guess these are the sorts of important parenting decisions we'll have to hammer out along the way. ;-)

MemberChestbursterJun-20-2018 8:07 PMYea, I was wondering what happened to ya! I'm glad to see ya here again.
Also, I just hope the kid remembers his first viewing. That's something to consider.
I saw A L I EN at a very young age and I can remember pieces of it, which I cherish. Still, I wish I could remember watching the whole thing for the first time like it was yesterday. I mean, once you know, you know... so... take that in to consideration too. Just a thought!

MemberPraetorianJun-20-2018 11:04 PMHey there VivisectedEngineer. Glad to you hear you are well and have a happy healthy boy!
Alien, Predator or Terminator - the unholy trifecta and rite of passage for any young fella XD

MemberTrilobiteJun-20-2018 11:16 PMVivisectedEngineer You have to keep that Newt level of parental control though- "They only come out at night- mostly."

:D Thanks! The place looks great!
Glad to be back! (And this time, with a Mini-Me! :D )
Oh no, you DID wonder about me?? And I recall YOU I actually told about my unfortunate encounter with the bat, so you would have had just cause to think I'd died of rabies, lol. But fortunately, the vaccine worked and neither the baby nor I was any worse for ware!
Good points about making sure he's old enough to remember his first ALIEN viewing! The timing must be considered carefully...
He's going to be the most popular sleep over host at his school with these movie options!
@dk
LOL, well, for right NOW the little cutie mostly keeps me up all night...mostly. :P

MemberTrilobiteJun-21-2018 3:19 PMVivisectedEngineer Actually this might be the perfect time to introduce the youngin' to Alien. Tonight! He will likely sleep through most of it and doesn't (probably) understand those concepts yet. Take a pic with him and the screen showing Alien. For the future, think of the bragging rights he could have. "I saw Alien when I was TEN.................months old and I have proof!"

MemberXenomorphJun-23-2018 2:14 AMWell, well... I knew you'd be back.
I'm glad you did it.
Now it is time for me to go back into cryosleep.
Do tuck in the children.

Lol, well when I first brought him home from the hospital, I actually tried having Prometheus on in the background while I was feeding him, but I guess the movie sounds pretty ominous instinctively because he stopped eating and his face looked like this: O_O; and then I felt sort of bad :-/
Thanks! :)
@Lone
Thanks! :)
Lol, the little guy is all tucked in for a nap, else I wouldn't have this spare moment at the computer, lol! I should probably try to catch some cryosleep myself!

MemberPraetorianJun-29-2018 8:40 AMWow. Congratulations VivisectedEngineer. How blessed you are.
Teething...that is when you are so amazed at what you're able to do without any sleep!
May you have the most restful 45 seconds of slumber tonight before your duties tomorrow. Thank you for posting.

MemberChestbursterJul-05-2018 1:03 PMLol! Wow, that really hits so close to home, seriously! I had him checked by an urgent care just yesterday because I thought maybe he had a serious ear infection. Nope, just in a lot of pain from teething.
The poor dear, I keep imagining that teething must hurt like being in labor based on the little guy's screams. ...I guess having anything erupt from one's body, be it teeth, babies or xenomorphs, is generally a pretty intense experience. (Though I suppose neither an epidural nor infant Tylenol would have been much help in Kane or Oram's situations)
Thank you!!! :)
