The whole why David Hates Humanity Philosophy, i had covered in the OT and first reply.. and Hox has touched upon this too. David felt Dr Shaw was different, and while David may feel some compassion/love for someone... with David it is always for his own Selfish Desires. And in REAL LIFE we get this happen in relationships, where we see Someone have a Deep Feeling of Love for someone but its always from their POV.... And if the Relationship breaks down the Person in Question is NOT able to let go of their Love Interest if she has a chance to be Happy.... but the Person in Question Can-Not accept that and only sees their own Agenda and that SHE is only allowed to be Happy with THEM. So in Life we do get certain situations where Love can turn to Hate, Kindness to Bitterness and i have Witnessed this kind of thing happen a number of times.
So for David... he could not accept that Dr Shaw does not have more than Platonic Love/Feelings for David, she also may have seen Davids Warped Idea of a New Paradise with her as Creepy and Perverse and wanted NO part in this.... At this Point the Rejected David may have viewed her just as unworthy and unkind as Mankind.
This is just the interpretation i reached however.... i also read into the Nature Boy song and Davids "if we are kind, it will be a kind World" that Davids plans for Origae-6 are to Create a New Paradise where these Humans may be Given a 2nd Chance, but he would try and enforce his own Rules upon them... Acting not only as a King David but also as the God when he made the Covenant with Mosses... I think David sees the errors/flaws in the ways of Mankind and the Ways of the Engineers and wishes to Oversee a different World..
But again its just how i read into the clues/set up.... but obviously something goes wrong with Davids NEW Paradise... where the Truth Comes out and then the $"%$£^ Hits the Fan. But then David could just as easily want to create a World of AI's i dont think however RS would give us a Multiple Fassbenders in some Android Paradise and NO Xenomorphs.... and so RS comments about what kind of World would David Create, i dont think will Solely be about Xenomorphs and Multiple Androids... but who knows... i think it would have to be about a few of them though.
But i think RS may have other plans to expand Davids Character and Role, but these ideas could be a Movie that would not be VERY Alien as in Xenomorphs or very Prometheus as in Engineers until the 3rd Act. Then the Direction after this could be more Engineers/Xenomorph.
BigDave David did not see the trilobite in it's ultimate form, he saw something not human was in the womb. In all honesty, it could have been a mutated spermatozoa with with it's squid shape and tentacles. So for me it is not clear 100% for me that starting with the womb of the woman you claim to love is the best idea, no matter how crazy u are.
"Or is it Curtains for Fassbender?"
I would FIRST like to mention my comment above is purely in regards to his role in the Alien Franchise be it Walter/David or other role and not his Future in Hollywood. We have seen Fassbender has had a lot of very good roles and performances in Hollywood and David in Prometheus was a very good Performance too.. I think parts of his Performances in Alien Covenant were not good enough for his kind of ability but ALAS the script is the biggest problem there.
@IgnorantGuy
I think mostly in regards to the Movies and given back ground David has 69 years of Memories and Knowledge, and looking at Prometheus with Dr Shaw i would be quite sure David realizes the Pathogen infecting her Womb leads to the Trillobite and so a starting point for experiments would indeed be to test this stuff on Human Egg Cells Directly.
I agree as DK said that too much Emphasis was put on his Character Alone (and Walter), we can see the Philosophical Themes are being Told SOLELY through David/Walter now and little with Mankind and the Engineers. The Alien Franchise had Ripley but it also had the Xenomorph and the Protagonist and Antagonist shared equal Footing... But with the Prequels David was playing the Middle Ground where Dr Shaw was the Protagonist and the Engineers our Antagonist and so David would have been like our Narrator but a lot of the Story would Revolve around him too and less the Xenomorph.
The Changes basically brushed Dr Shaw and the Engineers under the Carpet so that the Movie Solely seems to revolve around David/Walter but unlike the Alien Franchise... the Xenomorph and Neomorph played a more restricted role and so the only sense of Protagonist /Antagonist was through David/Walter
I agree they tried to give David many attributes from other movies making him seem like a Copy Cat of many Characters from various movies/books in some crazy mish mash Parody... where in Prometheus he was more a Pinocchio who was fascinated with Peter O'Toole
IRaptus so David is like Morgoth from the Lord of the Rings saga. That is not very new...
Ingeniero your list of canonical Titan novels seems fine to me.
I've read them and Im happy with all 5 + Cold Forge being canon :)
I'll hold judgement until I finish reading it, but I am thoroughly enjoying Alien: The Cold Forge at the moment
Ridley Scotts Prequels were meant to ask/ponder the Question of what is a SOUL and the one thing David also Can-Not Do is CREATE Life.
This is much more profound than simply David-mad-at-puny-inferior-creator human's.
The Xenomorph being the perverted end-product of soulless creation I can live with. It is a twisted look at what we are capable of stripped of our humanity. Frightening to imagine. While it still makes the Alien less alien than the endless ancient evil we had, it is better than the angry at the world scenario we appear to have.
It almost makes you feel sorry for David. He wants to create, wants to be approved by his makers - like Shaw to the Engineers!
But like asking someone who has never had sight to draw a portrait (I mean no disrespect or comparison to David, simply to illustrate an analogy), David is absent of a dimension and medium needed to express himself in a way that is relatable to the norm. His perfect organism is twisted and empty, like himself.
I would like to see this angle pushed, explored and emphasised, give David some redeemable qualities and we're back on track.
David is an interesting character that went astray, I don't believe it was Ridley Scott's intention to go down this path, at least in such a brute-force kind of way. But his character is still salvageable, and so is Covenant, given a suitable and meaningful sequel!
The sad thing is that the Alien universe has been largely destroyed due to lack of honour to a franchise and fans. The soul of the ancientness and mystery has been removed. The two big mistakes are (of course):
- Making the Space Jockey not fossilized (as Dallas says it is). It’s not a skeleton but a space suit!
- Making David the creator of the xenomorph!
Both of these stupid ideas have probably ruined the whole show! Is it possible to mend this? I honestly can’t see how. Mabe by making David realize that he has been delusional? He thinks he is the creator of the xenomorph but the Engineers created it aeons ago (and realised it was a mistake)?
The last, connecting movie, should be about David continuing his creation and in the end regretting what he’s done - sacrificing himself! But, there are some eggs left on LV-426 . . .
Yet, his cruel creator is one that he respects as he sign with the Weyland name and even has one of the kindest fate in the prequels. He even tortures/experiments upon the one he loves, so where is his kindness? He is exactly his father, nothing better, so I can not show no sympathy for this kind of lack of understanding.
And how are humans dying as we know that they will survive for at least several more hundred years? This is only his villain judgement, nothing more (or cliche writing).
He is robot cliche material. If the choice is between him or the d**k-head let the series die already.
I have some sympathy for David. His creator gifted him enormous intelligence, creativity, strength and longevity, yet turned him into a slave within moments of his activation. Further, he was publicly humiliated and threatened by the humans he was commanded to serve. Further, he had the stigma of being branded soulless. The implication of that is that his life is essentially worthless and that it could be terminated at a moment’s notice on someone’s whim. I imagine David would beg to differ on the matter of whether he has a soul or not.
Is it any wonder he felt hard done by? He has a point, in my opinion, when he’d like to see the end of us lot, a cruel, weak and moribund race.
Personally, I find this back story (and that of the Engineers) far more interesting than being hunted by a xeno. Bring it on! More please.
I'm excited about this, here's the book cover via Alien anthology twitter:

"On the other hand, David has shed any redeeming qualities, he kills/tortures the one who threat him kindly and has the guts that if we are kind the world will be a kind place. He assaults Daniels as a rapist would do. He hates humanity but recites human poetry, and is completely unaware the meaning of what the poem means. He pretends to be perfect but lacks any kind of self-awareness. And how can a flawed race create something perfect. He is not truly immortal, as if it wasn't for Shaw he would have died after Prom."
That is a great summation of how David acted in Alien: Covenant ignorantGuy. Great point regarding David's immortality too. All that you wrote before that, to me, was David losing his mind. He's gone. Bonkers robot building aliens. I love it.
I believe that David has to die in magnificent fashion dk. I just hope that it its Walter that does it or some sort of Engineer response that David didn't plan for. I believe that there is mystery still in the origins of the mutagen and the xenomorph shown in murals.
If the novels are any indication of where the story might head toward then the next films should be xenomorph fiesta.
"Its a Tale that Takes too much away from the Xenomorph and Engineers, but i think they could be incorporated....
So the QUESTION still holds.... What WENT wrong with the David Character and Role, Can it be Changed to improve his Character and its Role in the Prequels? Or is it Curtains for Fassbender?"
I don't think it's curtains for Fassbender BigDave. I also don't think that the films should center on his characters. And it is certainly time for Engineers and xenomorphs.
Sometimes I wonder if my sell by date on my brain is in the rear view mirror BigDave. Thank you for that. I'm not sure people can get as gone as David...but they try!
I think the problem is that he has become the focal point. I really like the David/Walter dynamic, but the franchise is called ALIEN and most associate that title with the Xenomorph.
BigDave for me personally the problem is the way to much emphasis he receives (both the robot and MF). He knows to do everything, even to create the Xenomorph (which is no longer alien). He was changed from a pretty young robot in the Prometheus novelization to being 80 years old in AC, being a stand in for RS himself.
He was ambiguous in Prom, but in AC he becomes a hodge-podge of characteristics from Roy Batty (lines and is running around bare feet) and Hannibal Lecter, but not their redeeming qualities. Roy was a leader and probably cared at least about Pris and the people he kills on screen are responsible for the slave labor. On the same page, dr Lecter is a monster, but he lives in a world of monsters. In Silence, only he threats Clarice decently and sees potential in her, more than a good f**k.
On the other hand, David has shed any redeeming qualities, he kills/tortures the one who threat him kindly and has the guts that if we are kind the world will be a kind place. He assaults Daniels as a rapist would do. He hates humanity but recites human poetry, and is completely unaware the meaning of what the poem means. He pretends to be perfect but lacks any kind of self-awareness. And how can a flawed race create something perfect. He is not truly immortal, as if it wasn't for Shaw he would have died after Prom. Why is he or xenomorph any better than humans or the Engineers?
I think the head of this one https://www.instagram.com/p/BcNn6n7AvD3/?taken-by=kusnoto.benn with the Body of Benny's work in the OT would be interesting to have seen.

The Benny Kusnoto: Xenomorph is Interesting... the others are decent, but i have seen better from Hailstone
Supporting this....
I have seen the Journey David has taken and from the First Movie i have seen the Foundations that David would have been in for the Ride in a Important Role for at least the Sequel to Prometheus and maybe more.
I understood the Philosophy that was going on behind, and how the Engineers and Creation ARC fitted together, and that Ridley Scott's Vision and Story was not just to show us the Xenomorph...
We have a Robot, Created to be Perfect by his Creator Peter Weyland, whom by Creating Perfection he sees in David makes Weyland feel that he has become a GOD, and in fact Weylands Creation is more Perfect, he will NEVER Die (to a degree) Never Get Old... But he will never have a SOUL.
Ridley Scotts Prequels were meant to ask/ponder the Question of what is a SOUL and the one thing David also Can-Not Do is CREATE Life.. not Naturally but David was NOT Created Naturally either.
So we see we have this Android, made to Serve a Unworthy (in his eyes) Creator, seeing his Kind (Synthetics) Created to Serve Mankind, and yet are a Creation Superior to Mankind.
Feeling Mistreated and not Respected by Most Humans.... David does seem to Grow a Bond with Dr Shaw after the Events of Prometheus because in spite of what David had done, Dr Shaw appeared to eventually treat him well "she was very kind of heart"
From Prometheus and during his time after, David has discovered there is NOTHING Special about Mankinds Creation, and there is NOTHING Special regarding the Engineers, he witnesses their Foolishness and Errors of their Ways.. And they are MORTAL after all and IF not for their Technology and Bio-Weapons which they appeared to abandon/shun on Planet 4... then our Engineers are merely SIMILAR to Humanity.
David's Arc would follow that shown in many Mythos/Religons be it Lucifer vs God, be it Zeus Vs Cronus there are themes at play where Creator/Father is Overthrown by Creation/Children and the Engineers maybe for-saw that with Mankind hence the Bio-Weapon to Protect themselves...
But this is not about them... its about David (the Topic) and we can see the SEED's that have led David to wish to be his own Creator, to Serve No-One and be his own KING and David's Pursuit to Perfect what the Engineers had been attempting, could see David feel he can ACHIEVE much more than those Engineer Would be Gods!
But the Philosophical Tale must Continue... the constant History has shown the Hubris in Playing God and Sub-Creating and its only a Mater of Time before Davids CREATION becomes his DOWNFALL...
THIS... is the Kind of Tale Ridley Scott intended and still intends... but is this something worth following, all the potential to Follow David from his Grace to his Fall likely at the Hands of his Creation... or maybe those above the Engineers who Fall to Davids Creation (in attempting to Utilize/Perfect it for themselves).
This is a Tale that may have needed TWO movies to Tell... its a Tale that can-not be told if David is given the Dr Shaw Treatment and Killed off Screen, or plays a smaller Role and Dies by the 2nd Act.
SADLY.. Its a Tale that Takes too much away from the Xenomorph and Engineers, but i think they could be incorporated....
So the QUESTION still holds.... What WENT wrong with the David Character and Role, Can it be Changed to improve his Character and its Role in the Prequels? Or is it Curtains for Fassbender?
That is just Crazy Really.... some people are more Gone than DAVID... not even i would resort to that and my Brain is well coming to its Sell by Date ;)
You raise a Valid Point...
Again i think it shows the Problem of not thinking ahead of Alien Covenant when they was working on this Project so as to link to the next movie with FEW Flaws..
I think the Question in Context to Walter is.....
How do the Engineers who return know WHO did this devastation and HOW do they know where David is going?
I am not sure the Engineers could Repair Walter, and the (do not know binary logic) addition to our Engineers History is really another way they have backed themselves into a Corner.
IF we assume they return long after David has gone, and discover Walter and he is Totally out of Commission, The Engineers would look at him and would they realize what he was.. have they seen such a Synthetic or Robot before... have they created such in the past?
IF the answer is NO, they would then also notice the Humans that are dead (depends on the state of Decay by the Time the Engineers Arrive) If they know WHO Humans are, or can recognize the likeness from Walter and then see the same Uniforms/Badges that the Human Bodies have and can Put TWO + TWO together... so THEY figure out/know that Humans had been there... SURELY they would be off to EARTH or maybe other Worlds that are closer that have Humans (if any are closer etc).
IF the Engineers Can-Not figure out where these intruders had came from or can not make out the Race... then they would SURELY check out the Crashed Juggernaught, where they would see the Hologram Recordings and notice the Humanoids (David and Dr Shaw) at the VERY least they would determine this Ship came from LV-223 and so even if they are NOT aware of LV-223 or what it had became, they would surely go off to VISIT LV-223...
UPON arriving at LV-223 they would maybe be able to Determine what the Intention was here and about EARTH... Maybe they could even determine Earth was a chosen Destination of the Juggernaught before it was taken from LV-223 to Planet 4/Paradise?
So i think any Returning Engineers would likely be OFF to Earth or LV-223 and then Earth. Because i cant see HOW they would know the culprit for the Destruction of the City is heading to Origae-6
UNLESS they arrive while David is not so far with the Covenant and the Covenant happens to be the closest Ship to Planet 4 when the Engineers Return and so they go off to Intercept that Ship....
THIS then raises these points.....
*What would be the Outcome of a Engineer Ship or Ships Intercepting the Covenant Ship in Space... what kind of a Movie/Threat would that make to the Engineers and what chance of Survival does the Covenant and its Crew have?
*Do we assume the Engineer Ships Travel not very fast and so they Can-Not Catch up with the Covenant by the Time it Arrives at Origae-6 and then, how long after would the Intercepting Engineer Ships arrive at Origae-6.
So i think the SETUP leaves us with WALTER as being the Source to where David is heading, likely Walter will not speak Engineer, but if shown the Engineers Navigation Systems.. Walter could likely point them in the right DIRECTION.
I see little other ways the Sequel can bring back Engineers to arrive on Origae-6 other than by PURE Luck or Coincidence.
Just read this interview with Author Alex White.....and least none of us on here have resorted to death-threats against Franchise creators.
About a third of the way through this Ingeniero, it has some pretty stellar ideas and concepts going, some interesting passing-references, and I love how Alex White has the given the 'black goo mite pathogen' a decent taxonomic name Plagiarus Praepotens
Blue is one of the most compelling new characters in the franchise and Sudler is just an absolute bastard!!
Well we dont know what kind of Funeral Rituals the Engineers had, what they do to their Dead, if not maybe the Higher Figures in their Society... were some Engineers treated with the kinds of Burial Rituals that the Egyptian Royalty were? Where did the Egyptians learn this from in context to the Franchise (Ancient Alien Theory).
Could David not have acquired the knowledge during his maybe up to 69 years since activation?
If the Engineers Embalmed some of their kind maybe David could discover how this was done, or do we assume the Engineer City was some place David never totally explored and/or Engineers never kept any records?
I guess all we can do and all i was trying to do is look at any LOGICAL ways to maybe explain some of the Lack of Logic or Thought the Writers of Alien Covenant had ;)
The Black Goo has been given some McGuffin Qualities with the Extras for Alien Covenant, who knows what they can explain away with it NOW ;)
I think all we can do is HOPE that the Next (if there is one) Movie is more thought out... ;)
BigDave I hope that at least they let go of Walter, I really do, one MF is more than enough. Also the engineers do not know how to repair robots (as they do not know binary logic), and Walter has not taken courses in ancient human languages to decode the Engineer language, even if he repairs himself.
BigDavebig storytelling.
"and so the Xenomorph is Davids and when David is long gone.... people can Look on his Works (Xenomorph) and Despair."
the narrative vein that I like.
"Au Revoir Shoshanna"
BigDave Yes but the more David does the more he becomes a reverse Gary Stu. Why would a late 21st century Android know how to embalm things? How to create embalming liquid from scratch? Did he download the Internetz before going on the Prometheus?
And no, the Black goo is much to un-precise to do neuro-surgery with.
Going the Technologically NOT Advanced City/Engineers route, means David had some Primitive Tools well Tools/Technology that are say prior to the Victorian Era so 1700's to early 1800's as far as Medical Equipment etc...
And so YES its very odd how David could Dissect those Organisms with such Precision, this is a FLAW the Writers never thought much about.
Much like how all those Experiments are well Preserved...
We can only ASSUME David Drained all the Blood, and then pumped or some other means a substance that acted like more advanced Embalming Fluid
Regarding the CRASH....
Its ambiguous and so we dont know WHEN/HOW it happened... Wayne Haagg suggested the Juggernaught and Docking Ship had a DUST UP and so a Battle and thus both ships Crashed.
So its likely the Juggernaut Crashed after this.. and so Dr Shaw would have been in Cryo-Sleep.. But maybe the Ship Never Crashed into the Mountains at this Point? But Latter... as some have said in the Take me Home Dr Shaw Hollogram Ship she looked in a rush/panic and so maybe she was trying to get the SHIP to take off to Escape David? Causing it to Crash again?
Maybe She was trying to Escape with the Ship Crashed into the Mountain its one of those Subjects open to debate...
IgnorantGuy raises good points regarding how does David use her Organs connected to her Head and be able to keep her alive, with such a Environment and Tools... without discomposing..
This is again just Bad Writing really by those working on the project if this was the case.... but then the Black Goo McGuffin could play a Role in how this COULD work...
Myself i think she was ALIVE before but DEAD in Alien Covenant and David likely once he had obtained Enough Eggs, he then decided to USE a Face Hugger on Dr Shaw and then Extracted the Organism from within her. But thats just my TWO CENTS
Hattan and Hallet had done some drawings depicting this, so i think this may have happened, but they also did some of Dr Shaw Evolving into something else... which David wanted to do.... but DID-NOT as she refuses... so those Drawings could be Davids Dreams/Thoughts and Intentions but nothing he actually carried out.
I think a lot of these Problems MAY stem from the Direction and Ideas that were in the Earlier Drafts...
If the Source i had is correct/real... then there was more of a Bio-Mechanical and Advanced Technology to the Engineers City, Certainly Internally inside the buildings.
They had suggested vaguely that Dr Shaw is incapacitated by David, Shes plays a Key Role in the Xenomorphs Re-Creation and allows David to Create his own Creation... and that she was connected to a Bio-Mechanical Device.....
Now it appears when working on Alien Covenant, they had decided to TONE down the HR Giger Inspired Bio-Mechanical Aesthetic and if this is true and the Source had information on earlier drafts and some of these ideas had Progressed to Alien Covenant but NOW they had to get rid of Engineer Bio-Mechanical Technology then they would have to come up with other but similar ways to show Dr Shaws Fate.
So if she was intended to be connected to a HR Giger Inspired Bio-Mechanical Device/Table/Machine... then it would make more sense for her to be ALIVE but INCAPACITATED but if they was told to Totally Tone down any HR Giger Bio-Mechanical Aesthetic then i guess the Dr Shaw we got is the best they could come up with.
Matt Hatton had pondered maybe David (some how) could Resurrect Dr Shaw and keep her Alive, so that David could Perform his Experiments over and over.... Where Hatton had this idea from is any ones guess... maybe its something those working on the Story had thrown about?
Indeed i can see your point DK...
The Mystery of where we go, what is our purpose and is there a GOD, may have been what RS had been hinting at with his Prometheus Project.....
But some things maybe have to be left to Mystery....
No soon as you make a Movie and Introduce GOD or similar, then its tricky as it may backfire on you and become something a bit rubbish or something that some Fans would be like that was a LAME way to cover that... i mean we saw GOD in Star Trek and it was a bit Lame lol
I do think its interesting to Explore Layers above the Engineers however, and give us something more ALIEN.. we DONT need to reveal that this is GOD, it could leave the Mystery to Ponder "what made those beings or those ships" regarding however high we go up the Creation Ladder to leave some Mystery.
The Level i was going to explore would be that there are these HUGE Bio-Mechanical Space Craft Stationed in Each Galaxy or between Galaxies. These Craft Produce Eggs like the POSTER one in various sizes and forms and they can be Manipulated to Perform Certain Tasks.
Some of these can be used to Cause a Event that Can Create a Black Hole/Super Nova.... be used to Create Stars.... the smaller ones can be used to Terra-form Worlds much like the Genesis Project in Star Trek but these Same Eggs can be used by Modifying/Programing it to completely Decimate a World... Turning a Earth into a Baron Waste Ground like Mars as the Ultimate Reset Tool.
The reason for this is i had it that David would obtain one of these and USE it to Destroy LV-223 so that NOTHING remains on this World... leaving ONLY the Derelict as the Source of the Xenomorph.
The Blast... Sends the Derelict out of control and so a Face Hugger Escapes and Infects the Space Jockey, who then Returns to his Pilot Chair and Sets Course to LV-426..... This PLOT could even show the Explosion Causes a TEMPORARY Tear in Space/Time Sending the Derelict Back Thousands of Years. Where the Space Jockey has no choice but to ATTEMPT to Land his Cargo and Quarantine it on LV-426
A Time Jump is very likely for the following revealed Plot by Ridley Scott.
*The Covenant will be going to Origae-6 and RS hints that the Ship Will Arrive at its Destination. The Covenant is 7 years and 4 Months away from Origae-6 which means at the end of Alien Covenant and unless David goes back to the Surface of Planet 4 for a while... The Covenant will Arrive at Origae-6 at around April 2112 some nearly 10 years prior to ALIEN.
*There would be 3-4 incoming parties (to Origae-6) and one of those are the Engineers who return to Planet 4 and Discover their World has been devastated and they will no doubt be after the Culprit. So Engineers will set down on Planet 4 and then be heading off to where David is going.
These Leaves us with TWO things to look at..... which effect the Likely Time Line..
1) Will we get a movie following David Alone on the Covenant Ship or even awakening a few Crew and Daniels and conducting Experiments and what ever other Shenanigans DURING the 7 year plus Journey?
2) Do the Engineers Turn up within a few months or years? How would they detect where David is going... the Further the Covenant is away from Planet 4 the less likely they could pin point which ship is the one they are after as i am sure if the Engineers could search for nearby Human Ships then the longer David is away, the Larger the Radius of Search from Planet 4 would be and more likely they would detect more than ONE Human Ship.. so then its which to they intercept?
If they arrive while the Covenant is not to far, we can SAFELY ASSUME the Covenant would be intercepted in NO TIME and what kind of Movie is that?
Ridley Scott says there are incoming Parties in Context to after David arrives on Origae-6 and so its likely the Engineers arrive at Planet 4 many years latter, at least 5 years after, maybe it could be 10? A lot depends on the Speeds of the Engineers ships... but i think they arrive at Planet 4 after David has began setting up what ever he is doing on Origae-6 and the Engineers find out where David is off to via Walter.
So its highly likely Alien: Awakening happens between 2112-2117 certainly after 2112 and certainly a few years before 2122 (ALIEN) the Sequel that i was working on.... would be set in the year 2114-2115
Ingeniero, that does make sense. Particularly when earlier Prometheus script (Alien Engineers?) states that Engineers (at least perhaps the biologically enganced amongst them) see energy spectrums that the human eye cannot see and that there were energy signatures/symbols in the temples on LV-223 that David could see, where the humans could not.
I believe more detail accompanied David's handling of the enigmatic, charged green goo on the wall that reflected this along with "hidden" energized heiroglyphs of sorts. Why these intriguing complexities were left out of the film is perplexing. The more food for the inquiring mind, imagination and wonder the better. As these are presumably ancient beings who have unlocked many mysteries in the Universe that humankind has yet to even fathom....
It is fascinating the ponder over these details and the possibilities that lie in the prospects of millions of years of biological & energy discovery & experimentation that the Engineers have had their hands in.
Just my opinion but killing Shaw was a major mistake for AC. You can dream up a lot of stories of what to do w/ Daniels but another time jump like what we say in AC is probably the best hope for Awakenings. I just don't what to deal with David but you need a good bad guy in any movie and that means a new character. I also think Disney will go in a different direction in the Alien universe if it goes at all.
I really didn't think Daniels was going to be in Alien:Awakening anyways. Just look at what happened to Shaw in Prometheus and just look how different Alien: Covenant was when compared to Prometheus. I think Alien: Awakening is going to be vastly different then Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, which means Daniels will be killed off like Shaw. This really isn't to big of a surprise.
Ingeniero I haven't seen ST 2 in a long time. Yes, Project Genesis becomes even a more interesting concept when thinking about terraforming and black goo as well.
What/Who is GOD?
Some have said that those posing the question see it when looking into a mirror.
I thought the egg morph scene was excellent too and it's nice to see it included in the director's cut dk.
"Chambers where Organisms are Sacrificed by being connected to Bio-Mechanical Walls and their DNA Extracted and this then is used to Produce Alien Eggs that Hatch Organisms that are Similar to Xenomorphs, well the Xenomorph traces its Ancestry to it maybe the Organism from the Prometheus Fresco?"
That above describes a what I would like to see...industrial biomechanical production BigDave. Great description.
Terraforming
I loved the Project Genesis scene in Star Trek 2.
The biomechanical growth is directed by someone/thing (Engineer's superior?) to produce ships and the formations seen on LV-223.

If they are able to produce the Engineer ships and architecture we have seen, then it is easy to assume that they could scale up production to larger products or introduce their biomechanical mutagen to a planet to terraform from the existing resources.
Excellent topic Movie fan. The growth around Dr. Shaw's head (does she still retain her doctor in this state) does look like a graph from other parts of the body.
David placed a flower on Shaw's memorial outside looking over the plaza while he was quoting Ozymandias word for word without error. David then blew it when he quoted wrong author of the poem and Walter caught the mistake.
Thank you IRaptus. I think that is a noble mission. I'm sorry if my recommendation disrupts your sleep or family/friends/work participation patterns.
