For instance, it would mean that the great intro. would need to be chopped up quite a fair bit to suggest this, but I'm not sure that would satisfactorily explain why the other 'pods' weren't transferred to the 'EEV unit' too, considering the fire broke out in the vicinity of ALL of them... ...and without going out into all the exact descriptions, it would also entail removing a heck of a lot of neat footage, dialogue, and music to accomodate the scenario that Newt, Hicks, and Bishop were still aboard the 'Sulaco', and none-the-wiser...but would make for a very choppy version of the movie I reckon. I've been told that there's been several previous 'fan-edits' that were going to attempt to imply that Newt, Hicks, and Bishop may have survived, but they didn't come to fruition unfortunately. And seemingly there was also one involving a small group of editors that was going to show *two* 'EEV units' being jettisoned in the first place - one with Ripley in it which crash landed on Fury 161, and one with the rest of the 'pods' in it, which would have drifted safely away... That sounds like it would have needed a touch of effects changes, but it wouldn't have satisfied me anyway, as it still wouldn't have saved Ripley herself! What I'm intending is a solution that makes it possible to watch the existing storylines of the ALIEN 3 and ALIEN RESURRECTION movies in their full complete glory (albeit re-cut to include a combination of what I think is the best footage from each version)...but yet allow for a 'total disregard' for them at the same time, in a way that actually shows onscreen how Ripley, Newt, Hicks, and the Bishop have survived their horrors! Luckily for me, there *is* a way to do that, and there's just enough footage and dialogue available to do it in a way that would definately satisfy me. This way, I would still be able to view these movies as they were intended, but end up with a very different outcome at the end of each of them, thus nullifying the direction they took. Hopefully it might satisfy others too who happen to hold the same love/hate regard for these last two sequels as I have. Hope that clarifys things a little.

I get the direction you wanna take Cerv, and I have no problem attempting to pull it off. BTW I think that all the bishop footage should be left in, the scenes where she grabs him and later on talks to him set up events later on. The problem is, just from a creative point of view, I don't really see the point, because Hicks and Newt surviving is pointless, we never see their story concluded and they would be dead by Alien Rez, creatively its a unexplored and unnecessary loose end.

No-one has done what I have in mind yet, and even if they came up with a similar kind of solution, it's highly unlikely that they would end up using the exact same combination of footage and dialogue that I'd prefer to see. I reckon there's a good chance of me eventually finding someone who's willing to do all of this exactly the way I want it from the pool of guys I originally had in mind...but if you're actually offering to have a crack at this yourself at some point Snorkelbottom, then I'm willing to take it further with you sometime. What I *can* promise is that the person that does this will be the first to get a chance to evaluate how this will play. And hopefully, they will get as much satisfaction as I will of making this available to others who'd like to see this too, eventually.

Making it is no prob whatsoever Cerv I am just voicing what others will voice when it is finished, also I can do the cuts as per you instructions no prob, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will be good/bad cuts, it all depends upon your experience in the fields of narrative and editing, which I don't know whether you do or not?

Sure Snorkelbottom, some that may eventually see these versions might indeed voice certain critisisms, and that's fine. But whether the versions I have in mind are deemed good or bad by others is irrelevent to me...as either way, this may end up being the ONLY way that any of us will actually be able to watch a version where Ripley, Newt, and Hicks AREN'T killed off... But as I'm a hell of a nit-picker myself, I had to ask myself if what I came up with would work in a satisfying enough way for me, personally. I'm happy to say it will, and I can give an explanation for every single alteration/addition I've chosen, to whoever ends up doing this, along the way.

There would be no need for explanations along the way, just what cuts, swaps, removals, inserts... when and where. I'd do your version as you wanted it to the millisecond. Then if I disagreed I would do another cut, my cut to highlight the differences. Just take into account that a film, just like a game, a level, a book, a comic, even a building, in fact anything with a structure (Narrative or otherwise) needs... - Flow (hard to explain easy to show) - Balance - Logic - Association - Pace (yes buildings have pace)

Guys, Look at it from this perspective. 1. The Alien egg conversion process below the ship would not be possible purely based on the lack of organic material, as a stand alone. 2. Queen approach would only work after the crash of the derelict. As all the eggs are upright and the eggs are truly in a "cargo" chamber. This theory I can't agree with because I would have to chalk this up as a design error as the caverns/chambers clearly exceed the size of the derelict. In our biosphere where there is a will there is a way. Frogs have proven this. Frogs in an all male environment can spontaneously change to female to propagate the species. So for lack of a better word, drone should be able to spontaneously change to a queen to further the species..... Hold on a sec......why couldn't there be a Xeno King? A bigger more badass xeno but not a xeno? I'm going to go there with this. Driver Ants......They kill everything they touch. But a Sausage Fly is the male form of the Driver Ant that is like 100 times larger than the ants themselves. They grab him clip his wings and haul him off to the queen as a sperm bank. Translate this to xeno and you got a big badass mofo that looks nothing like the orignal shape. Ridley said there was going to be some form of Alien much larger and different than the orignal form. 20CB, Thats a good question and could be a matter of perspective. Does a Xeno see Jones as Alien to it? This also goes to AvP. Do you include AvP in the cannon or the apocrapha? If you include them as part of the Alien universe and make them part of the cannon then, yes its hugely populated. If they're not part of the cannon then other life could be slim pickens. Either way I think there are other beings that are the string pullers. If you compare the Engineers to the Annunaki they were actually demi-gods and not the actual Gods that managed them. So there are other things that go bump in the night that Ridley is leaving out for the movie. Regards, Rick

I totally include the Predators in this because it just makes more sense..but i believe the aliens are created dna screw ups by someone..

The predators seem a faction worthy of being part of the same Alien universe. In my opinion, the crossover were bad by his directors were not commensurate with the work. That would be as thinking that STAR WARS is a crap just because jar jar binks appeared in some of his films. With regard to prometheus, only say that if the above film was the starting point of a new franchise or canon should include new races in the Alien universe. After all, I imagine that one of the objectives of this film is to expand the universe of the franchise.

I don't have anything against the Predator series. I actually appreciate Predator and Predators, I think they were great films but to be frankly honest I don't think they belong anywhere near the Alien franchise. Predator has its own turf and so does Alien. It was a REAL BIG fuck up for 20th Century Fox to even consider bringing the two series together. AVP sucked ass and their both monsters that deserve to be on their own in their own series. Together was a monumental fuck up by the studio and I'm glad there done with this AVP bullshit. Even if it was done differently I just don't see it becoming part of anything. Alien has its own universe and so does Predator. Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection if you look at it could be one "string" of the entire Alien universe. Thats "Ripley's" story. But there could also be other stories told later on down the road that incorporate their own story in the same universe, revolving around different characters, new locations and a whole different threat/bio-weapon that the Space Jockey's created. And I'm sorry Predator just doesn't deserve to be anywhere in the Alien Universe.

I have a gut feeling this movie may be more simpler...I feel this figurehead in the poster and in the urn chamber is a representation of the SJ itself. Coupled with the image of the flightchamber where you see a similar bald figure to the side. I think the plot will boil down to the SJ engineers as a race looking like us that seeded the Earth (hence the beginning of time sequence"...the suits will be nothing more than suits. Ridley Scott's reference to Wanting to show how everything got started seems to be metephorical for the beginning of the human race. The Xenos in alien and its progeny are a byproduct of this engineer/SJ race .....Just a thought

also maybe the aliens were bred as a way to wipe humans away because we were some sort of mistake...better yet Humans themselves are the offspring or some type of biological decendents ot the SJ race

I would see the xeno's as like a cleaner of planets...in preperation for seeding of life. Or xeno's were created in error via a mix of the vile of humanoid DNA and dinosours( a raptor perhaps). Thinking of the attributes of the raptor, cunning, intelligent, ruthless and a plain killing machine. I know its a very [i]out there[/i] suggestion with a little sprinkle of crazy for good measure..... :)

Just down the road from me is an art shop that deals in Memorabilia and photography amongst other things. I was browsing in the shop window and my eyes lit up, There before my eyes was an original gold framed blade runner poster from the cinema theatre . They are asking £600 pounds for it $934 i really really want it but not that bad lol. The frame is just a gold effect lol

Agree with Shardy. What if the compound that "mutate" David require a controlled environment to keep the mutation in check, bringing this compound into their own ship makes it uncontrollable. But there is no way he is mutating into a big blue giant, i think it is way scarier.

Pretty sure that is a unsuited SJ. I distinctly remember something about the suit being bio-mechanical (SJ), and not a being of it's own. My theory is that the SJ's create beings out of bio-mechanical origin and bring it to life with some "magic" compound or device. The crew gets their hand on this compound or device, and things start to go crazy as they or any bio-mechanical device get in contact with it. Remember the gods created humans in their image, they looking like us is not that crazy you know... And hello btw, diehard Alien fan here ;)

oh my god i feel so stupid for not noticing things like this... the guy on top: maybe unmasked SJ? guy on the bottom: looks like one of the blue and yellow space suits, but damaged and worn out. the actual guy looks like he was infected... but if you compare the suits BOTH have on, they look similar... those are just some thoughts i get when looking at the pics

may be , just maybe what we saw in the first movie with the SJ head , was a face hugger still attached over his face and the tail all fossilized

i always figured that apparatus / canon / thing was an multiple functioning device, and now with the addition of the holographic element like the star charts configurations, i'd guess that instrument controls the drive of the ship, etc. there are angles in other pics of the apparatus where you can see what looks like a large pair of human lips at the tip of the device, more of Giger's psychosexual design i guess all in all, i'd say that device serves as a primary control center for the craft argh! i can NOT wait to find out if all these questions will be answered in PROMETHEUS, or if it will leave me with even bigger questions damn....
