I dont think Sir Ridders give a flying fuck about queens and all that jazz. So if Prometheus does conclude with the Derelict crashing on a planetoid orbiting LV-426 in a system close to Zeta II Reticuli, then we shouldn't be surprised to not see a queen alien. From all Ridley's interviews, the impression I'm getting is that metamorphosis from victim to egg is his preferred genesis. "They do uncivilised and perverse things" is what I'm clinging on here - although some special individuals on this forum immediately jump to rape. To each his own.

I think good ideas like the ones you guys are posting don't get the attention they deserve because a lot of people on here are not very opened minded. They believe in the comics, novels and the movies so much so they talk about them like they really happened. They have memorized so much of this fiction and have add it to all their own little fanfic ideas that it gets set in stone. They can't believe Ridley Scott would ever deviate in any way from their own tastes. With that mindset anything presented here that contradicts what they and Ridley "know to be fact" warrants either an exaggerated explanation full of fanfic speculation or just quickly dismissed as being foolish. Welcome to the internet,

I'm feeling the SJ has a cargo of killer eggs, possibly to offload on Earth. One of our main characters lets down the "blue seal" security so a facehugger can impregnate the SJ, hence stoping its killer mission.

i don't buy all this human egg conversion nonsense even if it is alien law it just doesn't feel remotely feasible.

So whose to say if there was no queen before? Perhaps the introduction of a human/earth host in itself had brought about the need of a queen.

i'm refering to peoples assumption Bret was being converted into an egg

Personally i like to think the alien was stocking the larder for a few weeks

How is it an assumption? It is described in the original scripts. The scene was actually shot for the movie but removed for pacing then added back for the directors cut. Is it an assumption just because you don't like it?

I think people are reading too much into the original film and the new trailer. When making the original Alien, no one was concerned with a backstory...the idea was to create mystery and atmosphere by making the alien creature be found inside a mysterious ship whose origin is utterly "alien" (not to make a pun) to the people finding it. Were the SJs trying to escape the aliens? Were they transporting them? Were they trying to get rid of them? Were they victims of it? Were they god-like creatures who seeded life around the universe? None of these questions were ever considered when the movie was being made...the idea was to generate a very eerie mystery. Because of the demand to know more, Scott, Giger, and others who worked on the movie have given different vague answers as to what they THOUGHT the answers could be, and mused about them as an entertaining subject for speculation, but there has never been a consistent, official backstory for the SJs or anything else concerning the Alien universe (the clumsy backstory in the AVP movies not withstanding, and Scott has been very vocal in stating those films have no place in the Alien universe as far as he's concerned). Obviously, this will change in Prometheus, in which Scott and the writers aim to provide an origin story. Clearly from the trailer, we know that Scott has decided to go with the "SJs are beings who have seeded life" idea, which first originated in the original Dark Horse Alien comics. But, again, I think you are overthinking the whole process. Prometheus will very likely not answer all of the questions, and it may not even provide a specific origin for anything per se, but rather a suggestion of things. In the Dark Horse universe, mankind has found more than one derelict in different places around the galaxy. My guess is, Prometheus will NOT directly tie into Alien, but rather tell ANOTHER story about ANOTHER crew finding a derelict and what happens to THEM, only to foreshadow what will happen later on in Alien.

No wonder the script went through dozens of rewrites.

Yeah a lot gets cut out before the expense of making a set and props and shooting the film however that scene was not.

Too true re scripts and alterations. Altered- Ill pick you up on "stocking the larder" are you stating that Aliens need to eat? Or that the Alien was storing host bodies for future breeding purposes? I have always thought that Xenomorphs have no need for sustainance in a way which we understand. However this should go in another thread....

If there is any "intelligent" interaction (other than the speculation of the SJ's using the humans for their purposes/experiments), I think it will be like when you go to a county where you don't speak the language... you communicate through gesturing. I agree that I would not want them to be able to speak our language or us theirs.

Good call, gesturing makes sense... if there's a lot of footage of them think there's going to have to be a lot of gesturing! Maybe they could do charades with the crew....Subject: book, 3 words, first word, sounds like.... Or what if Ridley throws us Alien/Prometheus nerds a massive wide ball, and the SJ's talk Hispanic gangsta... Yo homes, what you doin up in my crib essay, bust a cap in yo ass fool... No disrespect to my hispanic brothers...got nothing but love for ya.... ;-)

hopefully there wont be any cheesy voice over dialogue, or as per CSI...where the viewer is spoon fed the info through running commentary ( we have deductive reasoning you know!!!!!). no, scott credits his audience with a bit more intelligence, i dont see much need for comms as the visuals will speak for themselves, the actions of the aliens will see to that

could be through metaphor like the classic trek episode or decipher like alien Hieroglyphics or some kind of technology that allows thought to be transcribed into images, its interesting to know how it will be tackled if at all.

im using the aesthetic filter in my head and guys if ripley can make a bug understand her intentions made with a flame thrower gesture by threating the queens offspring i'm sure the engineers in alien can get a grasp on sign language or any other form of non verbal communication i mean after all theres never been communication between alien species and humans in adult sc fi before has there lol

Happens to me at work all the time - I see or hear something that is so incredibly stupid it takes my brain 10 to 15 seconds to convince itself that what just happened was real.

Maybe they don't notice the blood until after she is lying on the floor? And I'm not ready to link this scene with the bed scene either -- why is the guy vomitting? Disgusted at his own actions? Or someone else's? Why isn't there any blood on the bed?

why there must be blood on the bed ? and the guy is not vomiting ...hes just worried ..or maybe feel guilty ...or have some sort of disease

I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm not 100% convinced it's blood all over her. I'm no Dexter so forgive my blood splatter analysis, but it seems really concentrated on her hands, feet, and elbows (and maybe even her knees). Almost looks like she was crawling/dragged through something. As dark as her feet are, I would expect to see some bloody footprints as well if it was blood. Again, it's probably blood.. But something seems off about it. I've see post where people think this image takes place after she gives birth to whatever is in her belly. If she just gave birth "naturally", I would think underpants would be more bloody (gross I know). If she gave birth unnaturally.. I would think that would have killed her. @Gehirm I didn't notice any vomit. Are you talking about the scene where the guy is sitting on the edge of the bed with his elbows on his knees?

FrantzPrometheus ForumBattered woman... no reaction?
good analysis jeffomorph ...we cant be totally sold is blood ...however since she is probably shaw is difficult to not connect that with the "pregnancy"
Reply
GehirnPrometheus ForumBattered woman... no reaction?
Yes Jeff, it's very subtle but the man is spitting/vomitting (his arms block most of it from view). @Frantz I'm sure there's no blood on the bed either. Just thought it was important to differentiate between the blood on her back in one scene and the bruises she has in another.

.....she looks so spastic....i mean her whole pose....abnormal....but it was taken as she collapses, which probably explains it....those stains could also be anything....so she might have been crawling threw some dirty tunnel or air duct or something..... I seriously doubt it has anything to do with any kinda birth...u don't just put on your soiled panties and go run around after giving birth...does'nt make sense IMO.

I also am intrigued by her outfit (stasis or medical tests clothing?). I'm inclined to think she was on Prometheus when she got her clothes covered in whatever it is. Stasis/medical test clothing Or is it Theron who's battered and not Rapace? (probably not based on the hair color and length, but you never know)
