Great screen shots. I like the neomorph too...so evil looking.

The first one really opens up the imagination. The 5th recalls Half Life 2 in a good way. All are amazing. Thanks for sharing!

It sounds as if the prequel movie could include both Alan Dean Foster's Origins novel content as well as what Ridley Scott is having written in regarding Engineer culture.

I like the first one and then the one with the domes. Such great artwork...thank you for sharing Ati.

"When he leaves Planet 4 in Alien: Covenant he is 79."

Fascinating!  David is 79 years old.  Wow!  He looks good for a 79 year old.

Now thinking about it, I'm surprised with the realism of the androids skin that it didn't age.  That's some very good technology.  I can easily understand why Yutani respects the great modern Renaissance man that Peter Weyland is.

Sorry if it is a bit OT,  but I think more anti hero would be good. It provides ambiguity. Sort of like this dude used to do.

"Stephenson also does a great job of describing human technology thousands of years from now."

That sounds very interesting.  I'll put it on to read list.  Sadly, the list is already to big. :(  Still, the way you described the book and the up-and-coming time that I'm about to have may make reading this possible.  We'll see.  Thanks for sharing!

I love the black and white Ati.

"It's great to see the bad guy reign"

Yes it is Lawrence of Arabia. His end must be epic as well.

I like how the xenomorphs were depicted in Alien, Alien 3, and Alien: Covenant. I agree dk. The AI angle does add rich background but yes the writing must be fresh to keep the morph scary and have some mystery attached to it (hopefully).

We grew up watching the same movies dk.  Did you like Prince of Darkness?

I love the light bearer drawing Ati. Thank you.

Monty Python compared the Fosters beer at their live show to American beers long ago. The comparison was making love in a canoe- Fuc^ing close to water.

That said, the US has some really good beer these days.

I want some BigDave Brew but it probably won't happen.

Forgive me my American friends, but Brett and Parker would've been happier and probably saved the day had they been drinking some real beer.... ;-P

Wow... I was just thinking about these beers the other day. I didn't know they went all out and branded them with Weyland-Yutani logos. I found it distracting the other day when I was watching the 1990 Total Recall and the film is suppose to take place in the 2080's yet the soda cans in the background are the 1980's retro looking Pepsi cans. Anyways, back to Alien.... I was thinking about the beers Brett and Parker were chugging down while they were repairing the Nostromo and wondered if they were like this or not.

Incredible. For example, I've never seen those suits at the end of the corridor in the movie. They are totally different. Awesome.

Ingeniero - Thank you.

BigDave - 'But it could appear that FOX/RS are re-writing the Timeline and History/Lore on many aspects of the Franchise that leads up to Alien Covenant.'

Indeed.

'Fox took down the timeline that we went by for so long and now have yet to produce an equivalent that reconciles with what we have seen in the movies and read in the novels.'

I jumped to the same conclusion, Ingeniero.

'the idea that there are much fewer androids walking around than what I thought before.'

I like it, and I think it would be interesting to see a new android of a secret Weyland-Yutani project.

IRaptus - The blog article you linked is fantastic! It offers several interesting details! Thank you for the share!

Let me highlight this screenshot from Alien:

'This screenshot contains not one but four details of note. The first is some random text on the right-hand monitor screen:'

'Well, I say random… it may be significant that the text includes the phrase D GILER. (That name might sound familiar.)'

M41a.  Although taping the flamethrower to it, a la Aliens, is a good idea if I don't need to be light afoot.  Good for clearing blind entries...plus I want a 45acp or new tech equivalent sidearm (of the genre CZ97b, HK USP, FN FNX, PPQ45, etc.).

Glad you enjoyed it, even though it's 1st Draft!!

This is the 'appetizer' skirmish between the ships, the start and a long ways from the finish of battle. ;)

When you're ready, they'll be waiting for you, that's the great thing about books, they're at the audience's command. :)

I see an Obituary Date, and can tell it was an animal, and I extend heartfelt sympathies and condolences to you on your loss from myself and my family. ((HUG)) <3

IngenieroAlien: Covenant ForumThe real deal is here.

You are absolutely correct VivisectedEngineer. Private industry will most certainly raise their hands to fund cryo-sleep or any other life extension-type tech.

This is a great topic I Moon Girl.

I recommend Seveneves from Neal Stephenson...a sci-fi epic novel.

Humanity is facing extinction because an "agent" intervened in our progress. We are forced to use today's technology to get a precious few into orbit before the coming rain of fire lasting for millennia on the Earth's surface.

The book then jumps 5,000 years forward to when the children of the survivors that made it to low Earth orbit make their way back to the surface of Earth for the first time and realize some also survived under the surface and at the bottom of the ocean.

IRaptus, I'm sure you'd like it being a geochemist.

I felt like I had been educated in aerospace engineering, nanotech, genomic science, astroid mining, robotics, etc...Neal Stephenson does not disappoint in research. You can also use the book as a weapon if needed (880 pages). Parts of the book are very similar to Armageddon and the politicians in the book are as corrupt as some in the real world.

Stephenson also does a great job of describing human technology thousands of years from now. Bill Gates' notes on the book are here.

I agree with your theory about David models BigDave. All of it.

Fox took down the timeline that we went by for so long and now have yet to produce an equivalent that reconciles with what we have seen in the movies and read in the novels. I have warmed up to the idea that there are much fewer androids walking around than what I thought before.

Neomorph Alien: Covenant ForumBest one liners of the franchise- which movie had the most?

I think a lot of people relate Aliens with memorable one-liners. The other films also have good ones but Aliens takes the cake here imo
