Well maybe we could get some News on the 26th of April but it does seem to be that DISNEY knows the Poisoned Chalice of the Franchise as far as Theatrical and will the TV Series Finally begin Shooting?

In the Meantime then DISNEY knows the Franchise can make Money from other Formats which include Video Games, Comics, Novels and Merchandise/Toys.

I think as far as the Big or Small Screen then the Franchise has HIT a NERVE with Many Fans....  This all STEMS from the STUDIO not having the BALLS to stick with what  Prometheus was doing and STEERING AWAY from the ALIEN.

I do suspect that DISNEY maybe could REBOOT the Franchise say in 2029 for the 50th Anniversary.....

Yeah there isn't much legitimate info available right now. I'm hoping with the release of Aliens: Fireteam that it sparks some new discussion on the topic, prompting updates from Disney / 20th Century Studios. The click bait BS is just getting out of hand lately and I think it's due to lack of any official updates.

I think if we look back at WHAT has Changed from Inception to Prometheus (talking prior to Alien Covenant)

The Alien 01 Master Narrative had NEVER been released in Full, so we can only take Little from it, which i had attempted in my previous Post.

The ONLY link to ALIEN we see in what LITTLE we have of the Master Narrative is that the Engineers went from  viewing Mankind as a Nurtured Race to becoming a Problem and that the Engineers then had began to ADDRESS this Problem which Resulted in what was going on at LV-426/LV-223

We then come to ALIEN ENGINEERS which had covered a Little of the Engineers Creation/Seeding Process which was about Sacrificing themselves to Nano-Scarabs that would CONSUME/STORE the Engineers DNA which these Scarabs then PASS ON by Biting a Organism and this INFECTS the Target in a way that they Mutate into a Hybrid of their own DNA and that of whatever the Scarabs had been Storing (in this case Engineer DNA).

When it comes down to the OUTPOST/SHIP what we get the Impression of is that  in some Cave/Cavern System there are some kind of Parasitic Organisms that are Growing.  This Organism has some Traits that are Familiar with the Xenomorph but Different

Inside the Complex we see there are URNS and in these are Scarabs, only they INFECT a Host (Fifield) with something that Mutates him into a Hybrid with Xenomorph Traits. We have to ASSUME those Scarabs had OBTAINED the DNA from something that is related to the Xenomorph or a Precursor to it.

We do see the Hammerpede which is more like a Centipede with NO real Explanation for it....

We then have David come across some Eggs on the Juggernaught, from these we have Face Huggers described as more Armored than what we saw prior (Holloways Encounter) David informs us these are Weaponized/Evolved Experiments and that the SHIP has 7 other Variants.

What we can CONCLUDE from this is the Engineers had been Experimenting with some Organism related to the Xenomorph, and Creating Hybrids of it.. It is POSSIBLE that what Holloway had Encountered was some Native Organism or maybe Obtained and taken to LV-426.  And the Engineers would USE their Creation/Evolution Tool (Scarabs) to Obtain the DNA of this Organism that Holloway Encountered and to then ALLOW the Engineers to MIX this DNA with Various Species to Create/Engineer the Xenomorphs..  The Engineers were essentially doing SIMILAR to what  David had done on Planet 4.

So in CONTEXT to the Changes when we get to Prometheus we have the SCARABS replaced by the Black Goo (which may be Nano-Worm like Parasites) but the Basis is still the same... it is LIKELY the Engineers had encountered a Organism and USED the Black Goo on it to Create various Hybrids.

ONLY they felt we DID-NOT need to see any Xenomorphs, that by showing some Traits within the Infection of the Black Goo on the Worms/Hammerpedes and via Dr Shaws Fetus/Trilobite that leads to the Deacon via Face Hugging the Engineer.   And Fifields infection then we have ENOUGH clues to show the Engineers have something in those URNS that is Connected to the Xenomorph in some way.

FIFIELD had some Alternative Designs that looked more ALIEN and Connected to the Deacon/Hammerpede.  And so going for the Toxic Avenger Zombie Fifield gave us something that had NOTHING really that Connected to the Xenomorph, Deacon etc (the Neomorph we could make a Connection).

I think they Missed the BOAT in NOT having FIFIELD being more Xenomorph Connected... but also with NO clear Pay Off with the Hammerpede...  (in my Edit, they would SHOOT the Hammerpede and we see it open up and Small Eggs would Pour Out.... these look a little like those in ALIEN..... then latter Milburn would Chest Burst something like the Babyhead... something that is similar to what the New Born Neomorph Bursters were like......

THIS would make a Connection more between the Deacon, Xenomorph and Hammerpedes... in that we see the Hammerpede is a Variant of the Face Hugger and Trilobite.....

The Resulting Milburn Burster would attack Dr Shaw and someone who accompanies her on the RUN..., she would SHOOT it and it would SPRAY ACID BLOOD... she would then Continue to make her RUN to leave the Hanger.

A more Xenomorph related Fifield would also ADD to more of a Connection to the Xenomorph....

Prometheus had TONED DOWN too much.. but Alien Engineers was Too Much ALIENY... it Needed to be like 60% Prometheus, 25% more Alieny like Alien Engineers and 15% of Extras to TIE them in Together... but also the Ambiguity needed to be Reduced by say 25%

But then thats the OVERALL Plot... the Bigger Problems was the Writing of Characters, Dialog and Execution... but this has been a Problem with Alien Covenant and Alien Resurrection too.

As it stands the PREQUELS had become a Disappointment to Many, they also had such POTENTIAL... but its likely in 10 Years Time they would go down as NOT being Canon and a Forgotten Memory that Soured the Tastes of the Fandom.

I am NOT even  sure they would Reboot the Prequels.. the Xenomorph Origins and the Space Jockey are a POISONED CHALICE to anyone who thinks they can give a Explanation that will PLEASE everyone.

In Hindsight the MOST POWERFUL and Enigmatic Scene in the Franchise (Derelict/Pilot Chamber and Egg Chamber) should have REMAINED a Mystery.

Would Certainly have been Great to had seen him WORK on another ALIEN MOVIE..... he Certainly did a Good Job along with Matt Hatton and bringing Davids Dreams and Sketches to LIFE.

David having Dabbled in Genetic Experimentation and being Impressed with the Pathogen and Horrors it Creates, while wishing to PLAY GOD and saw Wasted Potential with what the Engineers could have Created.

But to become a GOD you would need WORSHIP and i just cant see Xenomorphs holding Religious Affinity with David ;)

So i felt that David had some BIG PLANS with those Human Embyros and who knows what HORRORS would be Created before he Creates his OWN PERFECT Species.  A Species who can become a Civilization and Worship their Creator David...

so what Failures are on the WAY and what NOTES/SKETCHES would David continue with?  If we had a Sequel to Alien Covenant that would have covered such a PLOT.. i think that Hallet and Hatton would have been Great to WORK on such a Project.

But ALAS!

Indeed, as did I. Dane brought an incredible talent to that film. I only wish we got to see even MORE of his twisted creations! I hope they reach out to him for the FX TV series.

Shame this bozo mook from small-screen.co.uk has to dump on Prometheus & Covenant, I think they both get better with age.  I just now rewatched Covenant on UK channel 4 and I had forgotten some of the details, it was frankly, fcuking AWESOME!

"David killed Doctor Elizabeth Shaw in the spaceship Prometheus"

It seems that Dr Shaw had Survived the Journey, also by her Hair Growth it would be that Dr Shaw had Survived for about 9-11 Months before she Finally puts David back together, and we DONT seem to see any Adverse affects of the Black Goo....

It seems that Dr Shaw was HOLDING UP inside the Juggernaught after it had Crashed.... i cant see HOW she could Barricade herself from DAVID..

I therefor think its LIKELY he had Told her it was NOT YET SAFE for her Outside, and the Pathogen had Accidentally Infected the World and KILLED the Engineers.

For her to Survive then David would have to get her Water and Food and after doing this for some Time, she would QUESTION as to HOW he is Obtaining Food/Water that is NOT contaminated.

I suspect she became Curious and then she must have Ventured Out One Day... Followed David... then she would LIKELY had Discovered his Little Lab of Horrors!

I assume he then Catches her and Tries to Explain it all and that he was doing it for her BENEFIT... to Help find a way to allow her to Create Life so they can Re-Start a New Eden... she must have REFUSED and then this leads him to Decide to KILL her...

There seems to be NO SIGNS of Mutation apart from whatever is Connected to Dr Shaws Head.

I only ASSUME that he USED her Productive Organs or Egg Cells for his Experiments as using Engineer Females had NOT given him the Desired Results...

She Essentially is the MOTHER of his Xenomorph the QUEEN if you would and so what is Growing/Attached to her Head may ACT as some kind of CROWN he has Made.... but its actually a NOD to HR Giger and his Lilith Art Work

I think its a SHAME that there was  a LOT that could have came about from the Engineers Plot... as EVENTUALLY going for Xenomorph after Xenomorph or similar would RUN OUT OF STEAM!

Looking at what LITTLE we know about Alien 01 Pitch to Alien Engineers, what i can Summarize is the Following.

They had Millions of Years ago been Very Similar to Mankind, they had Evolved Technologically and Genetically to a point BEYOND what we are NOW... they became Intergalactic Space Travelers they had Managed to find ways to Prevent/Stop various Diseases and Ailments and Found a way to Prolong their Lives.

Their Culture and Religion had Changed so that things like Music and Art and Entertainment as it is Seen/Used and Evolved by Mankind over the Last 2000 Years, was something the Engineers had GROWN out of Favor with so they Do-Not view such Arts and Entertainment as we do but they maybe HAD at some point.

They became Focused on Science and Advancement, and took up Engineering other Species after they had Engineered/Evolved themselves to such a HIGH LEVEL.

They were not Preoccupied with other Things that Civilizations would see as a Important part of their being. Certain things that would bring Pleasure and Entertainment where likely Shunned...

Food is Food its basis is to sustain Life its Purpose is to give us Energy to use to Live.  And so they maybe took a Simplistic look at it like that....  (In Space Food Ration Protein Slop is all thats Needed, not a Fancy Banquet).

So they Likely took a similar Stance to other forms of Pleasure/Entertainment.... which includes SEX... which at its Basis is there to Procreate... simple as THAT....  No SEX, then No Procreation!

And so  as a Advanced Species then you could Procreate without SEX... we can do that NOW all we Need is a Sperm Cell and Egg Cell and then we get Test-tube Babies.. in Future we could Incubate Fetus like this... so we would NOT need SEX.

And so at some point i think again the Engineers looked at SEX as being the WAY to Procreate and ONCE they Found a way to do this without the Act of SEX then they saw NO POINT in having SEX and so they Abandoned it.

So i Suspect they GREW out of the NEED/WANT for Certain things and looked at them at their Basics. A Cultural Change of their Ways....

Eventually being a Race who have Engineered themselves to Live for Thousands and Thousands of Years and Procreate without SEX... then eventually then YES their Species could become STERILE...

It seems they was NOT Content with this and they was looking at Gaining some kind of IMMORTALITY some way to Transcend their SOULS to Beyond the Limitations of a Mortal Body/Vessel.    If they had BELIEVED they was so CLOSE to achieving this then they would NOT be Concerned about how they can NO LONGER go and Procreate.. who Needs to Procreate their Numbers if you can become IMMORTAL.

In the Meantime they began to Seed/Evolve Life on other Worlds, even Creating Races that are similar to themselves as they were maybe Millions of Years ago...  MANKIND being one such Creation.

They would VISIT and Nurture these Creations, watch them become Civilizations, Pass on Limited Knowledge and Arts.

Once the Engineers had gained that Transcendence to Godhood that they wanted.. to become Beings who are NOT of Flesh and Blood... they maybe would then allow some Civilizations they Created more of their Knowledge that is NO-LONGER required for beings who are NOW Beyond a Pane of Existence that Mortals have.

THEN.................

Something had Happened to Cause them to View Humanity as a Problem, a Threat maybe?

The Engineers likely NEVER achieved the Transcendence they Desired... they would REMAIN as Mortal, and while they LIVE for Thousands of Years, they can be KILLED and will eventually DIE and being Unable to Procreate they KNOW that their Species will EVENTUALITY go and Disappear.

They maybe saw that some of the Civilizations they Created and Nurtured had shown Signs of Evolving at a Quicker Rate that had taken the Engineers Millions of Years, due to the Fact the Engineers had Engineered and Passed On Knowledge to these Creations..

The FEAR would be there, the Realization that their Creations could MAYBE at some point in Future also Advance and take to the STARS and Gain the Engineers Secrets.

Its likely their Creations had began to LIVE in ways that are AGAINST the Ways the Engineers had turned their BACKS on.  They would Pervert the Basic Knowledge, Arts and Music, they would Pervert the Basic Need to Procreate.  Maybe these Species also showed signs of coming up with their own STORIES, and Mythos, or seeing the Engineers as NOT being so Godlike....

This would be a Concern... and the Engineers likely would VISIT these Worlds from Time to Time, and in the Case of Earth then things could have GROWN really out of Control.

They could have sent down Messengers or Emissaries to try to PUT us back on Track and Steer us AWAY from Vices, and Beliefs or anything that was AGAINST what the Engineers would EXPECT from us....

But we would NOT change our Ways or Accept the Ways of the Engineers, and then IF we would then Punish and Execute or Sacrifice these Emissaries then that would be the FINAL STRAW for the Engineers.

AT THIS POINT...

The Engineers would have THREE things on their Minds.

1) Failing to Gain Immortality do they Still Pursue another way to Achieve this?

2) Do they begin to Concentrate on a WAY that they can Regain the ability to Procreate?

3) They would look at a way they can Eradicate any Worlds/Civilizations they see as a THREAT and Rebellious.

THIS.....

Is likely when the Began their Experiments and the USE of their OUTPOSTS on LV-426 (latter Changed to LV-223)  maybe these Experiments were taken in the HOPE of Achieving (1) and (2) but they Certainly had Created something they could USE to Achieve (3).

And so (3) would relate/connect to the Xenomorph but is ONLY a SMALL Part of the Overall Plot/History of the Engineers.

The Xenomorph to them is maybe just as a Assault Riffle is to us... its a Evolution of the Black Powder that can be USED as a Weapon....   Black Powder became a GAME CHANGER in Warfare on Earth.

But their is MORE to Mankind than our Discovery, Invention of Black Powder and the Evolution of Weapons that have came from it.

And so in Context to the Engineers the Xenomorph was again MERELY a Engineered/Evolved Weapon...

And so THIS... is what they THOUGHT about between Alien Engineers and Prometheus that actually their is something BIGGER that you can Explore with the Engineers Plot than merely OH THEY CREATE XENOMORPHS as Weapons of War/Pest Control.

I will add that WHILE you Ponder are those Eggs the remains of Egg-Morphed Engineers i think it seems UNLIKELY as far as where they were going.

HOWEVER.... if we go back to Starbeast, then we look at the EGG MORPH scene that was Removed and then the UNUSED Mural by HR Giger.

Then this would IMPLY the Engineers/Space Jockey would Self Sacrifice themselves to PROCREATE the Starbeast/Xenomorph and so if we go by the Procreation Route that was CUT... then INDEED we could Speculate that the Engineers/Space Jockey may have Self Sacrificed some of their own to be EGG MORPHED.

The ELEMENT of them doing so would leave us to ASK as to WHY?

HOWEVER... if Ridley Scott had Envisioned the Xenomorph as something that could become more INTELLIGENT and that at some POINT had a Civilization.

Then this could THROW UP these Two Scenarios.

1) The Xenomorph/Starbeast would USE the Engineers to Procreate as they saw them as the Perfect Host.  The Engineers must have something that makes them Accept this Fate (Majority of them Gain something for doing this) or they are Enslaved against their Will.  Maybe some Engineers eventually Rebelled against this... or some Calamity Reduced the Starbeast Numbers so only a Few Remained and the Engineers took advantage or waited for their En-slavers/Masters to DIE OUT and then they looked to Exploit their Knowledge/Technology and Genetics.

2) The Engineers came across the Starbeast who have maybe been Reduced to Low Numbers or Extinct and the Engineers saw Potential in their Genetics (especially if this is a KEY to some kind of Immortality such as Genetic Memory/Soul Transfer) then the Engineers would have Good reason to Self Sacrifice to allow them to gain better Understanding of the Starbeast/Xenomorph and HOW to USE its Traits/Genetics to the Engineers Advantage/Salvation.

But ALAS we had Alien Covenant which kind of puts the above to BED.... However this does-not mean the above could apply to another Species who Pre-Date the Xenomorph who are the STARBEAST and who indeed use the EGG MORPH to Procreate/Resurrect themselves.

Regarding any Plans by Ridley Scott.... he had mentioned about the Xenomorph had started to Run it Course and you had to Evolve It and Explore other FORMS of Procreation and so i do BELIEVE that Ridley Scott would have shown us the Egg Morph at some point.

I love this franchise so:

1. Alien: love this one to death. I would say it is in my top 10/20 of all time

2. Aliens: Loved it though since I liked the quieter original this has to go 2nd.

3. Prometheus: People love to hate on it but I love this film. the music is great, the plot is good and the visuals are awesome. I get the complaints around this one, but I don't care the movie would've played out the same. I like them building on the backstory.

4. Covenant: This one is weird. I like it but I think less than Prometheus which bummed me out a bit. At the same time it sort of let me know that it had become a trilogy about David. I know people don't care but the possible sequel to this movie is one of my most anticipated films. The way it ended I hope it set up some full planet horror hunger games deal and end David in style. I've thought about this too much lol

5. Alien 3: I hate this one. The ending sequence is I think iconic and it has a lot of other stuff that is visually iconic, but I just don't like it. It is a tie between Resurrection. I like this one's story a bit more.

6. Alien Resurrection: I saw this one as a kid and I think it was my first theater Alien film or at least the one I recall going to. I like the director a lot and the style of this movie though the story is too cheesy for me to care. I still rewatch it.

I will add that Lindeloff is OFTEN used as a Scapegoat there are others at FOX who Pull the Strings and also Ridley Scott wanted more Ambiguity and with Ambiguity does come Discussion and Debate... if Prometheus was NOT at all Ambiguous and Spoon Fed there would be FAR LESS to talk about and the ALIEN  Section of this Website and others would have FAR Less Topics/Debate.

But what we got was TOO AMBIGUOUS.

The General Public and Casual Fans would NOT know HOW this Connects to ALIEN some would have Expected a Movie that Connects to ALIEN that is SET within the same Universe to have more of a Connection.

The Movie Needed more Clues.... it did-not have to SPOON FEED us... or have Xenomorphs it just Needed to have more Clues/Connective Tissue...

This would have Required a LONGER Run-Time... the Deleted Scenes do ADD some Meat to the Bones but they Mainly add more to the Engineers and Change HOW we could Interpret them.

I did do a EDIT that i Lost... which added a few Elements of Alien Engineers, plus some of my Own Scenes/Extensions.

But this kind of Edit would have made the Movie 35-40 Min Longer...

In HINDSIGHT...

Ive said this before....

FOX should have Followed up with a Exploration/Recovery Mission to LV-223 which would be more ALIENY, more so than Alien Engineers and could have given enough Clues to the Xenomorph and LV-426 while having a BIT of Ambiguity and would have CLOSED the Door to ALIEN.

They then would have FREEDOM to go where David and Dr Shaw are going and look more at the Engineers rather than to Sacrifice them and TRY and give us a NEW Origin Story of the Xenommorph.

I think there was a LOT of Evolution going on from WHERE they at FOX was thinking, to what Spaights had then given in his Pitch...  A lot of Emphasis seemed to be on the Engineers, it maybe is a case that FOX felt that the Xenomorph should play a ROLE...

Spaights had some Background with the Engineers and Mankind that would SPAN to FAR before our Xenomorph came into Play... which seemed to be that came about as some kind of PLAN to deal with Humanity who had became a Concern/Threat to the Engineers at some point.

We dont have the Full Alien 01 Master Narrative or any of Spaights First TWO Drafts... we are made aware that the 4th (Alien Engineers) is a Evolution of the 3rd.

The Impression i get with Alien Engineers and Alien Genesis is they are a PRELUDE to exploring the Engineers more in a Sequel rather than bringing us to ALIEN and Xenomorphs. I get the impression its a Introduction to HOW the Xenomorphs came to be and then we would be going where David and Watts/Shaw would be going.

What we have to REMEMBER is when making a Prequel, that they would be TIED DOWN to a Run-Time and so when you are going to the FINAL STAGE of what to Shoot you have to ask WHAT are we showing and WHERE are we going Next.

So if we have some Big Background Story/Plot about the Engineers and History that is NOT that Fleshed out in Alien Engineers/Genesis.... we have our Would Be Gods and Creation which we play a Role...

We have the Xenomorph which is some Experimental Biological Warfare that was to be USED on Mankind... but resulted in the Space Jockey event...

So they had to look at WHAT is the BIGGER Picture here and the Xenomorph seemed merely a Engineered Bio-Weapon.  With a Sequel do they then Explain WHY this Weapons was Created in more Detail? Do they show MORE of this Weapon? Do they Spoon Feed the Space Jockey Story more?

Or are there other THEMES/PLOT that should be Explored?

If you took ALIEN ENGINEERS etc and gave more Detail into the Xenomorph Origins and those Experiments on LV-426 then there are other NONE Xenomorph parts that would have to be Dropped or Cut  Back.

The Question is then..... WHERE NEXT?

After you have more Xenomorphs than in Alien Engineers, after you have the ORIGINS of them and WHEN/HOW they got on the Derelict (Alien Engineers teases this but its FLAWED.... it simply contradicts LV-426).

It seemed that the BIGGER PICTURE would be the Engineers and their Reasons for Creation...  and so THEY came to a point and FELT that THIS is what the should Concentrate more on and SET-UP to Explore more in Sequels...

We have after all seen the Xenomorph OVER and OVER.. and ONCE you have the ORIGINS shown its WHERE NEXT?

Each Incarnation seemed to be more about the Engineers than Xenomorph and WHEN they decided to get Lindeloff in to HELP to Rework the Story then he said they should  Concentrate more on the other PARTS of the Plot than the Xenomorph.

The Xenomorph was REMOVED and Connections were TONED DOWN... i think in Part it was the Right Move... but it was TONED DOWN too much.

We Ended Up with a MESS of Ambiguity...

Prometheus was the RIGHT IDEA... it just NEEDED to have a bit more of a Connection/Clue to ALIEN so that the DOOR to ALIEN could be Closed..... but the Story and Execution of Lindeloffs Paradise was also FLAWED.

Indeed the RESULT we have is from a Changing of Concept/Idea from the Inception by Dan O'Bannon to the Changes that gave us ALIEN.

By Virtue of the Theatrical Cut having NO EGG MORPH it allowed for James Cameron to think OK we have Eggs, and WELL we see that Eggs are LAID and so the Queen Concept was BORN.

The Original Concept being more ALIEN and more Parasitical

Before we had ALIENS we had those Eggs as something Ambiguous but Ridley Scott saw them as some kind of Bio-Weapon that the Space Jockey was using.

But it was NEVER really explained as to HOW/WHERE/WHEN the Space Jockey had got those Eggs... so all we could Speculate was...

1) They are a Pre-Existing Organism the Space Jockey would take to USE as a Weapon.

2) There was a Pre-Existing Organism the Space Jockey would take to Experiment/Evolve into what became those Eggs.

3) The Space Jockey had Created those Eggs from basically Scratch.

Ridley Scott had a FEW ideas of where he was going to take us back before ALIENS... he had proposed that the Xenomorph could become something Intelligent and KILL all the Crew of the Nostromo and then Mimic the Voice of Ripley to LURE in a Rescue Team.  But this Change/Ending was NOT what FOX and Walter/Hill wanted.

He had wanted to do a Prequel that would look at the Connection of the Space Jockey to the Xenomorph and saw those Eggs being he Remnants of a Once Alien Civilization,( Warlike and Self-Destructive) and he would Explain as to WHO they was and WHY the Space Jockey had them.

Ridley Scott had also wanted to go back to ALIEN after ALIENS but it seemed that he was more interested in Evolving/Exploring the Space Jockey....

James Cameron would have wanted to go to a Xenmomorph Hive World and Evolve on his HIVE Concept more.

with the Movies that followed and the AVP Franchise then it had became kind of a Accepted Fact that the Xenomorph Eggs are LAID by a Queen and so the Space Jockey would have either been a Species who had either.

a) Came Across the Xenomorph and saw their USE as a Weapon.

b) Came Across the Xenomorph and had intended to STUDY them and maybe Experiment with them.  (This seems the Story behind the Giant Race Discovered in STARBEAST).

But as it stood it was LEFT open to Interpretation by the Fans, the Prequels came along and attempted to STEER AWAY from the Idea/Origins but then also Changed Plan to give us a Different Origin Story.

So we DONT know what the Plans would have been to Explain those Eggs on the Derelict... i am NOT 100% that Ridley Scott would have based his NEXT TWO Movies around the Queen from ALIENS... and i would Suspect that the Egg Morph may have been USED to some extent had he been able to Continue.

Steering away from Ridley Scott one of the Concepts by Blomkamp for his ALIEN 5 Project did seem to look like maybe HE would also have Explored the Egg Morph but if thats the Case and to what Context we just dont know.

I dont mind such a Queen it depends on the Context and what Role/Origin it serves, as Opposed to just giving us something because it kind of looks COOL...  such as the IMAGE that setaverde had posted above.  As in i would NOT be much of a Fan of that.

By Context i mean if its given some Origin Story/Background that would FIT and make sense.

For example as PART of the Engineers trying to EVOLVE themselves, as maybe a Race who Created the Engineers.

Or a Human Hybrid... for example they could have Continued with a Sequel to Alien Resurrection and have Ripley 8 go and EVOLVE to similar. Or have it where they USE some of Ripley 8's DNA in a attempt to CLONE the Successful Clone but they get something like SIL.

A Missed Opportunity could have been that Dr Shaw awakened looking Similar, she becomes Horrified but David informs her that he has Evolved her so she can Survive... and that he has Perfected her and SHE may be MAD about it.. but then he could Inform her that she can NOW go and Create Life.

I suspect David had similar Plan... but likely Dr Shaw refused and ENDED up being Killed.  Who knows if he wishes to USE poor Daniels for similar or those Human Embryos.

Im with BigDave,i don't think that queen idea is good.

In first place, cheers BigDave, we are Alive. Second, David can create a Queen, his Queen. A Queen that reproduces in an hybrid way, half human, half Queen from aliens 1986. We want to watch the horror and feel repulse about every scene where the new queen appears. Possibly, we can watch it in the Alien fx TV series, or in the Marvel's Alien comics. I hope to watch something new in the Alien Universe very soon.

I always thought the eggs in the derelict were the Eggmorphed space jockeys, and those from the nostromo would have resulted in a different creature, maybe a slightly different facehugger but not a queen. I like aliens but don’t really care for the queen concept itself.  I would love to see Ridley make a sequel similar to Halloween 2018 that discounts the sequels and see his vision for Alien 2.

I think their is a Market for a bit of FUN set within the Franchise we DONT have to take it too Serious or connected to the Movie Canon ;)

some of these Xenomorphs are a bit Generic... but they have teased there could be other Creatures and so if they are hinting at Deacons and Neomorphs and we see Hammerpedes well the Biology that Connects them to the Xenomorph and Black Goo does allow for a HUGE number of Variants that could STRAY a bit away from the Genetic Xenomorph Aesthetic.

Set in the FUTURE after Aliens... and with them Hinting that we would NOT be Faced just against Xenomorphs and the like.... so we will Face Various Human Factions, and Synthetics.... there is SCOPE to explore other Races too.

Maybe the player will get a Arcturian Ass Whooping or does that Species only have ONE use lol

I think the Egg Morph could be something that could have been Explored in Future... i wonder HAD we seen Ridley Scott be able to Continue with the Franchise would he have INTRODUCED the Egg Morph?

If the Egg Morph gets explored more then they could CHANGE its Purpose....

The Xenomorph would be Pretty Flawed if in ALIEN what we saw was going to become TWO EGGS... but i GUESS this adds a Weakness to the Organism.. and if we go back to Starbeast then its THIS Need for Hosts that had become a Downfall for their Species if they Egg Morph all Life then they would RUN OUT of any Hosts.

But its always NICE to give a Monster a Flaw/Weakness.

I had always looked at the Scene as Creating a Egg Morph and then using Dallas as a Host... but the FLAW i have with this would be WHY does the Xenomorph not do the same with Parker and Lambert as then it would have TWO MORE of its kind to Join it...

I recall that RS had said that he felt the Xenomorph in the Narcissus was trying to HIDE away to DIE as it had Performed its Task (Egg Morph) to me this would make SENSE if the Egg Morph would lead to a ROYAL FACE HUGGER... so that Dallas would have Gestated a Queen.

I guess the Egg Morph could be Explored in Future and changed somewhat.... for me as a Evolutionary Stand Point.. it would make more Sense if the Egg Morph would lead to a Metamorphosis into another Xenomorph or similar and thus REMOVE the Face Hugger from this LINK in the Chain of Procreation... but you still have someway to Obtain a Queen that can LAY more Eggs.

I think if we was too look at them, then we could look at them like ANTS and so they could be Connected Sub-Species that would FIGHT for Dominance over another Species....

I suspect when they was working on the Comic they had similar idea.... like Black Ants vs Red Ants

I am NOT a Fan of that Queen idea... i think it depends on the Context.... the Problem is the Mythos/Origins has become Messed Up and in Limbo with Alien Covenant.

That being does look like SIL from Species thats crossed with HR Gigers Lilith. Which both are his Creation.

We see that David had draw some similar things... the the Monster Designers/Artists for AC had drawn similar (some used for Davids works). So David could have Dreamed about turning Dr Shaw in to similar and maybe has Plans for Daniels....

I think such a Female Entity could work depending on the Context.... but Alien Covenant had kind of Muddied the Waters of the Mythos.

So the Introduction of such a Species could come from a kind of Evolution from the Pathogen/Xenomorph, or a Experiment.

Maybe Ignoring Alien Covenant, they could have gone with the Original Idea for the Engineers that they had LOST the ability to Procreate and they had Discovered something they had HOPPED would gain that again... but it just LEADS to a Mutant Female like SIL from Species who could then have Provided the Precursor to the Xenomorph etc.

Or you had such a Species as being Ancient and Enslaved or Created the Engineers for a Purpose and they Rebelled and Overthrown these Ancient Beings... and some Engineers latter tried to Evolve themselves to become more like their OLD MASTERS etc..

But ALAS...

A Number of Years ago i came up with a FEW ideas for a ALIEN V that would continue from AR and have it where Ripley 8 was slowly Transforming into something like WHAT we see in this COMIC...

such a Story Arc and Gradually Evolution would require LESS of a Budget/Time trying to make Miss Weaver look like she did in the late 90's.  As if she soon started to Turn like Holloway was before he was Toasted then the Make-Up etc would HIDE her Age.. and she then Progresses more and more to like a SIL then the Make-Up would HIDE that we have a Ripley who looks in her 60's etc.

As SM had Mentioned this is Viable... and Especially in a Comic/Animation  as you can still GET There Likeness without Expensive CGI (or Naff CGI) a Synthetic is IMMORTAL as long as their Memory Banks etc are Intact of have been Uploaded prior to Destruction etc.

But YES the Comic just seems to be a Fan Service Fest!

what i mean by going back to Basics is essentially what SM had wrote " You go with what's familiar - Aliens, marines etc" so its NOT so much about just Bishop but that the Comics and Games will likely STICK to what we are Familiar with from the Original Quadrilogy rather than go too DEEP into Mythos and things like the Prequels... essentially YES its a Fan Service... but it has a Market and would appear to be more FINANCIALLY a Safe Bet than to go and introduce something thats NOT-SO Familar, this was tried with the Prequels but the Fanbase seems to NOT be as Receptive.

So they will LIKELY stick to what they DEEM had worked and what is WELL KNOWN about the Franchise... which i am NOT a FAN of as all these Comics/Novels do seem to just Re-Hash the same thing and they can  get Repetitive but there is a Market for it..

A Big Gripe for me is INDEED the bringing back of Characters who are GONE/DEAD from the Franchise, but these Comics, Books and Games would do so to MAKE MONEY and they are essentially like Retcons/Reboots of Sorts.

NOW i dont mind when we have Stories that are SET in the Franchise with certain Characters that are Loosely Connected like Amanda Ripley and her Adventures.. but i dont AGREE with Stories like where Ripley has other ALIEN/XENOMORPH encounters prior to ALIENS or after etc.

I would rather them do a Comic Continuation to Alien Resurrection where we could see RIPLEY 8 Evolve into that kind of Female we see in THIS Comic ;)

Regarding a BISHOP Story... well they could have Recovered him from Fury 161 and used his DATA to Study the Xenomorph/Findings.... you could have his AI then realize the Company are trying to OBTAIN a Specimen and then find a WAY or someone to UPLOAD him to a New Model in a attempt to SABOTAGE the Companies Plans.

Maybe we should NOT take the Comics too Seriously and just Enjoy them as Alternative Canon and Fun?

I would LOVE to see more Mythos, Engineers, Starbeast and a HR Giger meets HP Lovecraft kind of Universe but i am NOT sure we would ever get something like that.

Sadly as its Latex then if they DONT get regular Care then they can go HARD and Crack and Discolor....

With the Technology we have TODAY they could Finally Pull Off what HR Giger had Envisioned on Screen, Sadly in the Late 70's they could NOT have Pulled this Off Right.

Dark Horse eventually drifted away from Newt and Hicks after Female War as they began focusing on original characters and expanding out the alien universe beyond Ripley, Hicks, Newt, Bishop, Colonial Marines, and Weyland Yutani.

I mean Weyland-Yutani Corporation didn't even come into the picture until what Alien Berserker which was Book 5 or 6?

The Earth War series was very gutsy since it had the xenomorphs ultimately take over earth and it took several stories later until the Earth was reclaimed again by completely different characters unrelated to the original trilogy heroes.

There were a few comics centered around an unknown extraterrestrial protagonist fighting off the xenomorphs and one comic were an extraterrestrial cook was cooking a facehugger like a hamburger patty.

Now there was a few comics that didn't follow or were loosely connected with the main comics' continuity and were therefore standalone stories.

I wasn't trying to be that exact, my point was that it becomes about recycling characters. Get a writer that knows how to make good stories and well done characters while bringing something new.

I understand that but then there is a risk that you get too much stuck in the past. From a business thing I get it when people buy familiar things but to me it's not fun to have a franchise where we see the same things over and over again. Maybe it works for a while but eventually people might get bored by it at some point.

I haven't read anything from Dark Horse, so I can't comment on that in detail. About Hicks and Newt they have never been my reason for finding this franchise interesting even though they are alright as characters.

The horn-lady and the Hammerpede yeah but most of the characters were either reminiscent of old monsters or characters that were reminiscent of old (soldiers) but it still has the Bishop-character, and more marines. Not to say that marines must be something bad but there is a risk that you treat it too much like it has been for many years. I would like to see new things, not rely on what we saw in the 1980s or whatever. The past has had its share of good things but some time you got to move on.

My hope is that they use the comics to try new stuff, new monsters, new worlds and that. It seems to me to be a less risky thing than to throw them directly into the movies. If people start to appreciate new things in comics then it might spread to the movies also (appreciation for new things, or attempts at new things).

I wrote a piece back in 2003 - I think for Absolute AvP - that used the term 'egg morphing'.  And I think it'd been around for a little while at that point.  The Anchorpoint Essays might have used the term prior to that as well.
