Looks and sounds just like the first trailer to me except it is missing the credits.

Where’s Snorkel bottom, not seen him around here for a while. His imagination is amazing I bet he can see that totem pole thingy. lol

@ Gehirn Blimey mate that was a bit strong wasn't it Ive not been here for a while so id not seen that. I personly would not have spoken to you or any one else in that way but any way take a another look at the new trailer i swear theres something there

Also the building above, which has been argued to be part of the derelict spinning, does not appear to move at all. So I am pretty sure that this is the temple. The new international trailer seems to show a few seconds more of this sequence....

Here's a thought. As I've gotten older, and remained a big sci fi fan, I've learned to lower my expectations for ANY movie. I no longer look forward to a movie being a life changing event. For example, whatever you thought of Fantom Menace(and I wasn't wild about it), there's no way it could EVER have lived up to the expectation generated around it's release. All of us on here are already SUCH huge Alien fans, that I doubt anything will match the 30 YEARS of enjoyment and speculation that I've gotten out of such a groundbreaking movie. Also, consider what Ridley did using the technology of the 1979! I always have to check my expectations to keep them realistic. Now, having said all that, of course I am hoping to be proven wrong! -Cheers

I have to agree with skyguy1054... If what David is pulling up out of the ampule winds up having a tail on it looking like a facehugger, won't you all be a tad bit disappointed? I mean, you'll know what it is, you'll know what it can do. Do we really want to see all of that again? That won't scare any of us. Now, if it's something totally different - something we've never seen before, then THAT is something worth being excited over. Just my few cents :)

@Kiddo, yes this has been discussed. The opinions were that the 'fingers' you can see are some sort of cage that 'David' is holding the handle of. As we are unlikely to see anything we have already seen until the end of the film (if at all), I think it is unlikley we will see a 'facehugger'. Other theories have been suggested in multitude so I am apologies if I miss any out, but I think they were: 1. Contains the building blocks of life 2. DNA of an entire world or species (different species in different Ampules or rooms) 3. Infant species of the Engineers / Jockeys in stasis 4. Biologocal weapons 5. Progenitor to the xenomorph in safe storage

@BellisanAlien - I'm gonna lean more towards your 5th point there! I think that "goo" looking stuff he's fiddling with is the genetic makeup of the progenitor to the Xenomorph species, I believe extracting it and toying with it is in some way related to the rumoured "pre-Xeno" we're likely to see in Prometheus. . .

I think it has four lobes that appear to be holding onto him, rather than the other way around. When I first saw it it reminded me of an egg. I'm wondering if the eggs we see in Alien are inside the ampules, which later decompose over time and the agg with facehuggers inside harden (polarized silicon anyone?) to protect themselves. Ridley once alluded to the eggs being like spores...

Reading the title I half expected this to be another USHBUCK ban and locked thread drill.

I've always thought that the top of each of the 4 'lobes' had claws on the end of them. It's the beginning of something scary, for sure. Why else would it be slimy and green?

I called the claws cannula but I was lazy with that rendering and should have made them curved a bit more. I figure it is a biomechanical syringe. The claws are used to grab a hold of an organism, pierce the flesh to inject whatever substance is contained in the ampules. Grasping it's prey tightly like this allows all the ampule fluid to be injected before the host could remove it.

Let's throw this one into the mix!!! the ampules could be vessels containing embryonic SJ's!!! imagine if you can,the most realistic way to travel the vast distance between stars is at sub-light speed.The most realistic state to travel in,would be frozen in an embryonic stage then born/grown at your destination... you would need caretakers,hundreds of generations of them, their sole function throughout the journey would be to monitor and maintain the ampules then revive you at the other end!!! could be that we were the caretakers at some time in the past and the xeno's have evolved along the way??? probably started the voyage from the SJ home world as something akin to a cockroach and evolved into the xeno we know and love!!! given the journey times involved,... could be?? this is a thinned down theory,thought I'd throw it out there for consideration

Theres an international trailer released today, but no new footage. It just doesn't include title montage coming up at the start. . . :(

Not aware anyone's promised one but most movies usually have one, especially huge-budget movies like Prometheus. But I'd chalk up the talk here more to people like myself who simply WANT to see another trailer. If we're predicting (should we place odds?), I'm going with 1st week of March. That's 3 months after the teaser and 3 months before the movie is released.

Yeah I'm thinking March aswell! What big releases are out in March-Beginning of April?? It'll probably be attached to films around then.

The secret is that humankind is the Xeno's mother (father?)!!! haha... wait. Maybe? No, no idea. My guess is the same as Ridley has stated he created Prometheus to be epic AND tie back to Alien. In keeping with the original Prometheus story, I'm of the theory that Prometheus ties to a certain race/creature that helps mankind out and then gets supremely punished by the ruling/God race for doing so. Having a horde of Xeno's unleashed on you would qualify as epic punishment in my book. Anywho, how the original aliens/Xeno ties into the over-riding story is one of the many, many questions we have 111 days and roughly 23 hours to wait for. If the movie's anything like the anticipation, it's gonna be great.

The proto-xeno is actually a cross between the SJ and prehistoric human. A punishment to the SJ who tried to become a god, and bestowed knowledge that should have been kept secret. The proto-xeno is what the superior being gave him to reign over as god.

I don't see the original derelict in the Prometheus teaser either. I DO see something that appears to be a claw/hand in the distortion - the screenshot's been posted in these forums recently. Can't tell much of anything from it but can't wait to come back to these speculations after finally seeing the movie...

If anything there is the shot of the hand on the 'medical tube' with the image reversed. But it's like looking at clouds everypne sees something different; want the imagine, what they want to see, what someone else suggests and puts into their minds. Human suggestibility my friends.......

What i see is a lot of smoke and dust and an environment that could quite easily be concealing a PYRAMID...ya-hooooooo !!!

If it's the flash and fuzz I'm thinking of, I'm guessing it's the footage Ash was looking at when the monitor in front of him started to distort. I haven't seen the "original ship" in the trailer, but that's what I always assumed the introduced static was from.

I found it difficult to 'make' into the original derelict that we see in Alien as well. Looks more like a hand to me.
