I think he was just a very curios scientist type, who wanted to lay claim to a truly epic discovery, however, with all the over analysis of the slightest things of all things alien, whose to say any more? Bella's theory may just be as valid as that bloke who was rattling off theory of light speed travel and how it wouldn't be possible for the Promtheus crew to travel by such. lol I meant on the forum, not Einstein, although him and Hawkings were mentioned a lot on that thread. I'm willing to accept anything when it comes to peoples theories, no matter how far fetched they appear right now. We wont know what Ridley has in store for us until June.

After all why be on here to discuss different possibilities when your mindset is wait till june, only Ridley knows, etc. After watching Alien Kane does appear driven, desperate and have no caution what so ever. Ridley suggested Lambert was the viewer's perspective but I never noticed it in the chest burster scene (even though her expression just before it happens was priceless). Though I did notice it later on when Ripley's giving her "I'm the captain now, lets all head back into the vent shafts" speech and Lambert tells her she's out of her mind. I wish some other films used perspective acting like that, it would save me yelling out at the screen all the time...

i hate to say it.....but i think my response might have been similar to that of Lambert's....lol

Always been a huge fan of Lovecraft, as a youngster we used to geek away days, weeks, months playing the RPG Call of Cthulhu - inspired by Lovecrafts novels. As a massive Alien fan as well, if SRS has taken a leaf out of Lovecrafts works then this movie should be the ultimate sci-fi horror thrill ride.....Lets just make it adult, give it the R rating it needs and be shocked out of our minds!

snap! I was reading the short story that inspired the movie 'the Un-nameable' the other day. I think its called the strange case of Randolph Carter or something along those lines. He is also a big inspiration to Stephen king too, The Dark tower rocks. I didnt know until recently that Prometheus and indeed Alien, had Lovecraftian inspirations. The mind of Giger is one hell of a crazy place to be, but in my humble opinion, as much as ridley created the movie, and as much as Dan wrote the script etc, Giger is directly responsible for the creature we all know and love, and the jockey and the derelict. Dark, dark, stuff

I checked it out, watched the film, found it impossibly boring, watched because of the connection to Giger...sorry, maybe I missed something there about him, gotta read some of his books I guess.

I am aware of how famous and awesome he is supposedly though, I just haven't caught up to you guys on him yet, got a lot of reading to do now, thanks!

Sparky, 'the un-namable' is low budget rubbish horror at its worst, well almost, lol how NOT to make a movie 101 lol

Lovecraft was the bomb. Not a great technician necessarily, but he had great ideas. Check out his Dream Cycle anthology, which has two (3?) stories on the infamous Mr. Carter.

for all the reading you guys do, it apparently hasn't been too beneficial for your analytical and reasoning abilities. i posit that's an aspect of intelligence completely innate to the individual.
