I've rewatched Alien a couple of times in anticipation of Prometheus, know exactly how you feel :)

Not only was lv426 a very dark planet even after the atmosphere got established By weyland yutani many decades later on. Maybe there are more derelict ships with The goo or facehuggers. It could be LV426. Remember it is mention numerous times that the planet is volcanically active. After years/decades of volcanic activity all that ash would create a blanket over the planet making it darker.

Nobody would deny Super Bowl Sunday is primetime for big ads. That's a fact. I don't watch the Super Bowl, and it doesn't bug me that I won't see the trailer real-time. I'll just catch it later and geek out then. I haven't seen, but is there another post, here or on another site, lamenting the time and placement of the new trailer? I really just don't get your point that Prometheus fans are up in arms about the new trailer.

There will not be a trailer during the super bowl. No time slot was purchased, I saw it on movies.com that they will not have one.

Very interesting indeed! A second movie sounds great. That leads me to believe Prometheus might end in some sort of cliffhanger. Possibly Shaw and Vickers marooned on the planet after the derelict crash. I'm hoping that this will help the pacing of the movie so it doesn't feel rushed. So the end result he wants to get to is a facehugger type creature? I'm not sure what to think of this.

yes im of the opinion that what is inside the urns infect everything around ...and what was "metallic " become "biometallic" ( and that include the proto-hugger) .... but is really only my opinion . Ridley seems pretty sure he will do another movie and that link very well to Rapace's face when asked if there will be a sequel to prometheus .

Ridley Scott)[/b][i][/i] [b] You've watched the teaser trailer countless times, you now know the Space Jockey appears in the film, and yet you still haven't a clue as to what Scott is up to with this sneaky reentry into the ALIEN universe. I know more than I want to, and I can assure you that any "leaked" plot summary you've read is bullshit - though I fear the studio might've jettisoned the best version of this film when they brought Damon Lindelof on to rewrite Jon Spaihts (who should not be held accountable for THE DARKEST HOUR). But even if this isn't the cerebral sci-fi classic it could've been, it's still going to be a clever resuscitation of a beloved franchise. I'll be shocked if a) PROMETHEUS doesn't live up to the hype. and b) if Scott doesn't direct the sequel (which is already in development). (June 6)[/b]

Agreed Frantz... look at Rapace's response to the question of whether there's enough in Prometheus to make it a franchise, or in other words, enough for a sequel (and with Ridley's latest comment about trying to squeeze in two [b]prequels[/b]). Trying to squeeze in two prequels would mean he is trying to pack the material for both into one space, which in this case would be one movie. This would be akin to the orginal plan for LOTR to be two instead of three movies. If the quote was "try to squeeze out two prequels" you would have better proof a second act to Prometheus.
