Yes! I always wanted to find a copy, specifically a pdf version, but it was a comic-con (I think) exclusive back in 2014

The black goo/pathogen is a bioweapon, not a natural occurring organism like space bacteria. I'm sure that was the logic for the characters doing what they did (no helmets), that space bacteria isn't a big deal. They couldn't comprehend another species out in the galaxy let alone a planet contaminated, their info said it was fine. With Ridley at the helm I'm sure the writers had some inkling, maybe not about the particular articles, as he is very fascinated with biology. You're right that if they would have been more cautious it would have saved their lives but the data they had told them it was safe so they went on faith. I see Covenant as more a cautionary tale.

Lawrence of Arabia I don't think Alien Covenant makes the case for supporting that theory. On the contrary: stresses the fact that there are quarantine protocols to follow. The only problem with the movie is that it is not consistent with that. I am sure the writers have no idea of those science articles about bacteria exist.

(Gediman's mind than makes a couple connections between what he knows of Ripley and what he thinks.  Gediman smiles.)

Amazing...

(Gediman's mind is racing on experiments he could do.)

(Ripley than runs her hand through the back of Gediman's hair, gently urging him up off his chair)

(Gediman's fear is starting to come back...)

Gediman mumbles, "Ripley..."

Ripley replies, "Shhhhhh....."

She pulls him close and kisses him.  Gediman kisses back.  Then, as they draw apart, Ripley makes a smile.)

(Gediman is aroused and confused, until....)

(An alien tongue SHOOTS out of her mouth, burying itself in Gediman's face.)

That's why they call it science fiction. Neil DeGrasse Tyson also agrees.

Thank you for that Ati and I still appreciate the link you gave me to the Dane Hallett page for the amazing concept art.

Lawrence of Arabia That's a very interesting article, and if it was true it would totally debunk the premise of "The Andromeda Strain", miniseries that was produced by Ridley Scott. I don't think it can be proven though, and I wouldn't take my chances.

lol did anyone else get this rather ironic sponsored ad? Damn Engineers ruining the tv reception with their weather defence storm XD

Great point though Cerulean Blue. I does seem more than a coincidence.

Aliens is perfect and totally plausible :B People are only butthurt with Covenant because it wasn't a pure rehash, they are upset with the origin, or that we didn't get Neil's fanfic so now they are looking for every excuse under the sun.

Remember also that in Alien LV-426 was subject to violent storms that only abated when Dallas, Lambert, and Kane approached the derelict Juggernaut.

I see that at the forearm too Ati.

The suit must "heal" to the Engineer skin and most assuredly provide nutrients when in hypersleep.

"Infamous sequel" that is something. The only infamous movie that failed to connect to the audience and is at 6.5 on imdb and rated 57% (rotten) on rotten tomatoes is Alien Covenant.

Go do some fluting, Ati

Complaining about helmets and space bacteria is dumb.

Daszkowski Watch it, it's very funny. Anyway, the level of nitpicking is sometimes so exaggerated that you know they are just pulling your leg (like with the ear canal observation)

BTW I beat you by 2 minutes in posting this! lol

sherrisAlien: Covenant ForumWere the Engineers able to use the weather as a defense?

First off..... I love this question !!

Here are my thoughts....

In P i thought that after the ampule room had been "Tampered With" , somehow a change brought on several potential threats. Not only do the Murals change  and indicate human beings have affected the atmosphere. We then have the storm front !!

I believe this is an Engineer process which is bringing the storm on LV 223.

1. It was started after the Atmosphere change in the Ampule Room.

2. It blew from DIRECTLY behind the line of Pyramids which would be the angle to help clear the paths t the Pyramids,  yet if it was a random storm, why wouldnt it come from a different angle. there are so many to choose from lol

Terrible explanation im wiped again but i still say it was caused as defence or deterrent rather than mother nature.

The Storm covering the Planet could hide it from long scans or it may just turn out to be a Planet that can be moved by the Gods technology

I always thought the weather was manipulated by the Engineers.  Too many weather changes cannot be coincidence.

Indeed an odd one. Thinking bout it. It's unlikely an android. Why would there be flies otherwise.

Well to quote Cheshire Cat from Alice: Madness Returns:

Every picture tells a story, sometimes we don't like the ending...sometimes we don't understand it.

Thanks Ati, the rest of the photos in his album didn't give me much of an "ALIEN" feel so I didn't relate it.

It's an odd piece, the face it almost stretched on the edg, and the eyes almost look like he is squinting.  BUt the mouth and flies definitely give me the feeling he is dead lol.

murnauAlien: Covenant ForumNo more CGI.

I almost entirely agree, cJam.

When it comes to the creatures, so much noise was made about the use of suits and practical, in-camera effects, and I was highly disappointed when I saw the finished movie. On two cinema viewings, it seemed to me that most of the creature shots were heavily overlaid with CGI, and however sophisticated it becomes, it never has the weight or visceral impact of real-world stuff. And being just pixels, it doesn't scare or convince anyone.

But the ships and environments I don't mind being CGI. The work has been so good on Prometheus & A:C that there's no way practical sets/models could have matched it, and perhaps because it's scale is different, and it's not about contact between bodies and creatures, that it works better.

I think Ridley should certainly up his game in terms of editing for suspense and horror. I am a fan of A:C, but a true return to real-world effects is just what the franchise needs....

"I LOVE sci-fi tech, but in the end, the story is and always should be about the PEOPLE involved, right? Tech is merely there to help the story, allow new avenues of actions, or present interesting complications and devil's-choice options."

I agree Blackwinter-witch. In Alien: Covenant, it does appear that the tech does blend into the background listening and aware of the crew as a whole.

If Weyland was making investments in weapons' tech this early, then the situational awareness of their weapons in relation to friendly (Covenant crew) and target (neomorph) would almost wipe out friendly fire.

In short, they may not shoot each other (because of smart weapons tech) when all firing weapons toward a fast-moving target they are standing in a circle around.

Great image enhancement below Tiwaz.

To me, the above image shows someone decomposing with their head turned. The sagging of the left side of the face looks like is is due to gravity and the teeth are exposed from the deterioration of gums and skin.

"David and Xenomorphs vs Engineers multiple worlds war"

Sounds good to me Agronut

Those on Paradise seem to be related to the Engineers but I agree they could be "progeny" of the Engineers seeding that world Xenocentric.

I believe that Paradise was what we saw in the beginning of Prometheus.

In the Alien: Covenant novelization, Captain Oram and David 8 walk past a control panel (described similar to the control panel in the juggernaut) in the temple as they are entering the lab with all the creatures and the plasticized Engineer. David 8 does also describe them as Engineers in his notes but he could be generalizing those on Paradise.

I agree K-Theory that those on Paradise look like ancient commoners and they might be part of a knowledge caste system...that might explain the robes.

Cerulean BlueAlien: Covenant Forum"Playing God is a human fantasy..."...

@Blackwinter-witch - That speech by Adama speaks to exactly what the Engineers did by creating the 'Wolf', then trying to banish it & act as if they were then free from it.  I liken it to the wonderful world of Nuclear power humans created & the nasty problem of disposing the by-product of the waste...dig a big hole & forget it is there as it slowly decomposes for thousands of years?  Well, then there is David....big problem!!

Here is an image of the xenomorph before I performed any enhancement in Photoshop to bring out the fine details dk

I believe the enhancement done to the stills in the opener may have brought down the overall quality because it was zoomed and the tone and contrast were changed. This image above might make you feel better because I made no changes.
