@Leeta, Ingeniero and Cosmonaut-Copper
Good luck with that!
(But Cosmonaut-Copper, yes, Samuels from Isolation is an option - any synth in the series is. Do you change your answer?)
Don't you remember what happened to Walter when he corrected David's Ozymandias attribution? I have a feeling that if you beat David 8 at darts you'd have a good ten seconds to enjoy your win before getting stabbed with a flute!
Seems like a sound choice, Walter is helpful and loyal.
VivisectedEngineer ty :)
Gediman, nice choice and reasoning! Good point about him having the best ( and only) track record for successful surgical extraction.
David's apathy and total indifference towards life and suffering scare the shit out of me to be honest lol.

Great topic IRaptus !
Wow, these are our options!? We're so S.O.L.! lol.
First off, definitely NOT Bishop's evil father because... he looks like Bishop but is evil. And that would just creep me out and give me sort of...uncanny valley vibes (ironically).
Definitely can't trust that insufferable, smarmy back-stabber Burke, either.
David is a tempting option just because...he's sort of like a cat that play's with it's prey before killing it. ...There's some slim chance he might actually keep me alive in the short-term, buying me some time to plan an escape. ...But most likely I'd just wind up like Oram...
Gediman is...creepy as hell...but he's the only one with a proven history of surgically extracting the Xeno and taking an interest in keeping the host alive. I'll take my chances with Gediman.
Well in the original 1979 movie, the extremely potent acid blood was from the Facehugger.
Ati thanks hahaha. The choice is pick the lesser evil really.
Xenotaris fair choice, definitely. Hard to tell if he'd keep his word but he's a safer bet than some of the others :)
...LV-138 :)
I would rather it be an OVA either animated by the South Koreans or the Japanese.
I would probably trust Micheal Weyland if he offered me a job in exchange for removing the chestburster.
The protomorph is different, but precisely because genesis has just begun. By the term Proto: It indicates a simpler structure of an organism, its first stage of development, this is easy, the difficult one must be the creation of the Queen and it begins to dance. "Breakfast from Tiffany?"
Forethought about potential contagions on an alien planet!?
Get out of here lol.
We just blindly stroll on in with no care in the world. What could go wrong....
nek minnit

Tennessee knows how to fly.

Good catch hox.

Even though it is believed that there is a difference in the mutagens' eventual affects due to differing solution (Paradise Engineers fried, Sacrificial Engineer broken down), you are able to see how the swarm interacts with the body.
AC heads in the Hall of Heads have lines as well:

The horizontal lines resemble the Engineer aesthetic we saw in Prometheus on the sculpture drucea.

Cerulean Blue, I believe the large Engineer ship is on the ground.

IRaptus - Water has a significant role in every Alien movie if we look at them carefully.
Dark Nebula, David is not flesh and blood. He has no DNA.
Ha, brilliant alternatives! :D
He has a few thousand colonists to experiment on to get to the version we see in Alien.
That is presuming the xeno ovomorph eggs in the Alien derelict actually has something to to with David. We presume David bred his proto xenomorph from the neomorph and human DNA, but we don't actually know that for sure.
David never directly said that and what he has said may not be true. The xeno form of the Alien may be an Engineer creation and David was just hybridizing it.
@daliens If I remember correctly, before AC came out someone from the test audience who saw cut of the film said something that David merges his own synthetic DNA with the protomorph DNA to create the classic xenomorph we all know and love, and thats what gives them intelligence and biomechanical appearance.
I don't know if this will be relevant in the sequel because knowing Ridley Scott, he changes his mind very quickly.
The close up of the ravaged Engineer is reminiscent of the injuries suffered by the sacrificial Engineer in Prometheus. They both have a similar gouge in the spine area.
Anyone can explain how will David create a biomechanical xenomorph?
Look at the picture of the Big Chap, it's very different from the Protomorph David created in Covenant.

sacrificed himself to wash away the sins of that world. Interestingly he died in water too..... very Genesis.
Then Noah built an altar and made a sacrifice, and God made a covenant with Noah that man would be allowed to eat every living thing but not its blood, and that God would never again destroy all life by a flood
I liked this movie, and Rapace was great playing 7 of herselves. The setting seemed a little hard to believe though. Didn't China already do something like this in limiting the number of children you can have, in real life?
Do all of the head statues/carvings, either here or in Prometheus, seem to have horizontal (or slightly diagonal) lines going across them? At first I was thinking that maybe the heads were craved in layers then stacked, but that doesn't seem to fit with a carving in a mountain side. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
The acid didn't seem to be as corrosive or whatever in the protomorph either. When it was crushed in the crain claw, wasn't that hanging over the top of the ship that Daniels was climbing around on? The claw looked to be sizzling a little after the aliean was crushed, but there didn't seem to be any worry over it eating through the ship hull like in the 1979 movie.
Wow good find!
As for the two faces in the mountain, to be more precise, the two Engineers from Prometheus, I have a theory:
This is the Father:

And this is his/the Son:

The Father and the Son!
/God and Jesus/
That would explain the whole situation in Prometheus - and why the scene with the father was cut/deleted. (They tried to avoid the religious connection.)
Ingeniero - You are welcome! x3 :D
BigDave - You are awesome! :) They are the Engineers from Prometheus. They look exactly the same!
'The camera angle seems stationary with the ship flying toward it with an Engineer in the mountain and when the ship flies by up towards the clouds the angle turns to see another Engineer face' - by Ingeniero
Ingeniero - Exactly! No cut in the scene!
Let's imagine that we are the camera. We are facing the mountain (the rock face), we do not move. We are between the two faces. First still: we are looking right, the lifter is approaching, we are looking at it continuously, it is flying away between the mountain and us, we don't move, as it is passing we are turning our head left...
If it is not enough, compare the two faces:
First face: there is no cloud at the forehead:
2.png)
Second face: there is a cloud at the forehead:
1.png)
Its blood is orange. (Meaning the proto is more human?)
Awesome! :)
Indeed David! He always got a plan and manipulates his way through. Bishop seems very smart too.
I would love an animated Alien feature but I would not know how they would pull off a Sunday morning cartoon lol The gore would be too much for kiddies!
Anybody could be the Space Jockey as the complete story hasn't been told yet and already we've had some unthinkable revelations. Personally, I like the idea that David creates the Xenomorph variant from the blue-prints of what the Engineers have already done with the Ultramorph. It's poetic, monsters making monsters, creators being destroyed by what they've created, the Perfect Organism born from madness. What we saw in Covenant though I believe isn't the final product yet and David has work to do on his way to Origae-6.
Cameron's queen looked RIDULOUS! I am anxious to see what happens with Daniels.
David is the smarter of the two, and the most devious imo.
Walter iI thought that aliens was perfectly enjoyable and i actually love alien 3. ressurection was crap though in my opinion.
the big problem I have withs blomcamps movie is that it would completely undermine alien 3 witch in my opinion is one of the greatest sci fi films of all time and better than aliens, alien ressurection, prometheous, and alien convant.
am looking forword to see the engineers and david in the sequel to covenant.
We know the engineers are in suits, could be anyone in that suit on the Derelict.
Thanks for the review dk, will have to watch it. Just finished "The Transfiguration"---a really good flick!
drake and vasqueze are way to trigger happy. I would go with ether dillon and morse.
Tkanks for the mention.
Indeed, my ther theory was that if it ontsined several heads then this could mean maybe 2 things.
1. Planet 4 is Paradise and the chosen one, enhance themselves then seed a planet. their faces etched into the mountains on planet 5 for worship/respect.
2. That was the first Elder ruler over Planet 4, 10000k later another death of the lead elder. one more stone etched into mountains portraying the last elder to rule and so on ??????
