Today's Choice:

You wake up alone in a cold, dark shipping container having forgotten all the events leading up this event. There is a large dead spider looking thing next to you.

You have a sore throat, some mild chest pains, fever, and some mad pink eye going on. There are 4 people you can turn to for help.....

Who do you trust?

1. Gediman

2. David

3. Michael Weyland

4. Carter J. Burke

I would probably trust Micheal Weyland if he offered me a job in exchange for removing the chestburster.

Ati thanks hahaha. The choice is pick the lesser evil really.

Xenotaris fair choice, definitely. Hard to tell if he'd keep his word but he's a safer bet than some of the others :)

Great topic IRaptus !

Wow, these are our options!? We're so S.O.L.! lol.

First off, definitely NOT Bishop's evil father because... he looks like Bishop but is evil. And that would just creep me out and give me sort of...uncanny valley vibes (ironically).

Definitely can't trust that insufferable, smarmy back-stabber Burke, either.

David is a tempting option just because...he's sort of like a cat that play's with it's prey before killing it. ...There's some slim chance he might actually keep me alive in the short-term, buying me some time to plan an escape. ...But most likely I'd just wind up like Oram...

Gediman is...creepy as hell...but he's the only one with a proven history of surgically extracting the Xeno and taking an interest in keeping the host alive. I'll take my chances with Gediman.

VivisectedEngineer ty :)

Gediman, nice choice and reasoning! Good point about him having the best ( and only) track record for successful surgical extraction.

David's apathy and total indifference towards life and suffering scare the shit out of me to be honest lol.

Give me David...I would definitely deactivate the SOB ASAP in some manner. Cannot believe Shaw trusted him. Disappointed in her decision making skills...

"David's apathy and total indifference towards life and suffering scare the shit out of me to be honest lol."

Lol! Whole-heartedly agreed! That's what makes him such a great villain! He's truly the stuff of nightmares!

GladOS used to be my favorite villain, but David has supplanted her.

Yes, but that doesn't exactly solve your chestburster problem, now does it?

Now you're still doomed, but at least David isn't around to fawn over the baby xeno once you get chestburst, so you've got that going for your which is nice. ...I guess.

I wanna pick Gediman cause he's a creepy little man but he looks like he can at least be reasoned with as opposed to our other selections lol

"he can at least be reasoned with as opposed to our other selections"

Quite right! And David most certainly can't be.

Good to see all it takes to improve your character judgement is for you to wake up in a shipping container infected with a chestburster lol

One thing I think we have to consider is the End Game of whomever gets your specimen.

David's agenda is to kill humanity because his father/creator made him pour the tea and was mean to him ;p  Very Bad

Gediman and co. are trying to weaponise the Xeno for military use. Could be bad, or beneficial to humanity depending on who holds the leash.

Weyland and co have questionable motives and operate in a very cloak and dagger, crew expendable way. But are truly evil, or are they working for the greater good?

Burke is W-Y crony but would likely sell you out to the highest bidder, potentially risking a massive outbreak by selling you to some backyard chop shop. Very bad.

My choice: Weyland, though I imagine I would likely either be killed or "disappeared". But perhaps not. and perhaps even in death you might have contributed to something greater...

@IRaptus

Oh gosh dammit! There you go making it all ethically complicated. But...very valid point.

Well, in that case, David is definitely the worst choice because his vendetta is against the whole of humanity.

"My choice: Weyland,...perhaps even in death you might have contributed to something greater... "

I do admire your optimism...and after all, he did create Bishop. So he's got a brilliant mind...which can be a double edged sword when it comes to weapons engineering (and, let's face it, what else can research on a xeno be used for?).

Realistically isn't suicide the most altruistic option in the case of chestburster infection? Can altruism really be expected to trump survival instinct? We likely wouldn't persist as a species if it did.

Well, in the interest of self-preservation, I'm sticking with Gediman and I think I can hardly be faulted for it.

Of course, the David from the beginning of Prometheus would be the best option hands down, but after he found out about what the Engineers do, than the decision gets much more interesting.  I think David would remove the Xeno and would be captivated by it and study it IF that was the David at the beginning of Prometheus.  He wouldn't kill me.  I treat people kindly, so I don't think that David would hurt me either.

The David after Prometheus makes things harder to decide.  Honestly, I don't know who Michael Weyland is.  I couldn't trust Gediman with my dead body almost like I wouldn't trust the David after Prometheus with my dead body either.

I'd choose Carter J. Burke and just accept my death.  Plus, if Carter J. Burke is involved, he's probably the reason I'm all alone in a shipping container with a dead facehugger.  That just seems like his kind of style to me.  I would just try to escape the shipping container so that when the chestburster bursts, it creates mayhem.  I'm not letting someone impregnate me without at least trying to create a little mayhem before I die.  $h!t's about to go down!

LOL!!! I LOVE IT! Truly unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality. Very liberating.

Good Point, that does sound like something he would do lol.

Michael Weyland is the company rep that looks like Bishop. Him and a security crew shows up to Fiorina 161 at the end of Alien 3 to try and convince Ripley to surrender her Queen chestburster. Promises they will remove it and destroy it. She didn't believe him.....

Ah, that's why I don't remember! It's been a long time since I watched Alien3. Thanks for telling me.

@IRaptus

He promised that, but then when she went to throw herself into the incinerator, didn't he shout something like "Nooo! Think of all we could learn from it!" ???

...I have a strong feeling he didn't go to all that trouble of recovering it just to destroy it.
