With filming expected to kick off at the start of next year, there have been a number of announcements surrounding Noah Hawley's Alien TV series for FX this week! Below we've cataloged all the recent updates to the show's cast as well as additional directors!
First up, The Ronin has reported that Dana Gonzales will be joining Noah Hawley in directing an unknown number of episodes for the series:
The Ronin can share a small update on the untitled “Alien” series. Executive producer Dana Gonzales had been previously linked as one of the show’s cinematographers (latest credit being “The Toxic Avenger”) and will direct an unknown amount of episodes alongside Hawley.
Following on, Deadline recently reported that actor Timothy Olyphant has joined the cast of the Alien FX series, with limited details on what character he will play - although they think he plays the role of a Synthetic:
Details about Olyphant’s character are not being disclosed. I hear he plays Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Chandler’s Wendy who is a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.
Timothy will join David Rysdahl, who was also recently announced as joining Noah Hawley's Alien FX series:
After working with Noah Hawley on the fifth season of his Emmy-winning drama Fargo, which just debuted last week, David Rysdahl has solidified his place in his FX family with a series regular role in his Alien prequel series, Deadline can exclusively reveal.
