The Xenomorph in FX's Alien: Earth series was for the most part captured using practical effects and stunt action work. Utilizing a Xenomorph suit created by the folks at Weta Workshop and worn by stunt performer Cameron Brown, the Alien: Earth team brought a bulkier and extremely aggressive Alien to life for the show! Showrunner Noah Hawley recently explained why the Xenomorph design in the series differs slightly from its film counterparts – it's worth a read if you haven't seen it already.
