MemberOvomorph08/9/2011Looking at those pics over on Alien Prequel News, they're tearing down or moving the sets to Morocco apparently. I'd have thought some of these may have been re-used if another 'Prometheus' film is being made back-to-back with this one?
I remember reading somwhere that R.Scott has booked sound stages at Pinewood for two years, (the first year being almost up, I assume), so what next? New sets?
A new look for the next film?

MemberOvomorph08/9/2011I would assume that if this film pans out well, he will make it as Fox will see how much gumba they can make off this. They know alot of people will see the movie because of Scott and the Alien connection. if there is a sequel, will Scott leave us hanging at the end of this film?

MemberOvomorph08/9/2011 Cain1977, that may very well be so, but on your point of there being a possible
cliffhanger, if Fox think that it may bring low returns, then what of a resolution to that cliffhanger? The follow-up would have to be made surely? But Scott could really skew us and leave it hanging forever, which in a way would be perversely appealing in itself.

MemberOvomorph08/9/2011Well, If I had the power, I would def start after Aliens and restart the series from there to keep the story going and diminish 3 and four. It would be a chance to bring back the series and make it better and well, have a better plot. As for realistically doing a cliff hanger, he can keep this story going and run parallel to Alien, within the same universe. I am sure that the writer can run a story that runs along with Alien but not attached to Alien.

MemberOvomorph08/10/2011That would be a great dream...to restart and keep to the dark mythos of the story. When part 3 and 4 came out, that mythos disappeared as well, as a good written story with actual work put into it. Perhaps this will open the door...

MemberOvomorph08/10/2011To be honest that won't happen will it... Really? I'm with you guys. If they did do Alien 3 again (with Biehn and Weaver) it would certainly make most Alien fans dreams! But just to scrap 3 and 4 as never happened, I don't know if the studio's would back it... Of course there has been a lot of 'reimmaginings' recently so who knows..

MemberOvomorph08/10/2011I'm a fan of all 4 movies to be honest. But I like every sequel less than its predecessor. The first remains the best movie overall and my personal favorite film. I do not really care much for continuing the movie series after the second movie. I feel this has been done to death in comics and novels (some of which were very good). This is why I think the approach Ridley is taking with Prometheus seems to be the best way to go about making another film that ties into the ALIEN universe.
It would be great if Prometheus does well enough in the box office to warrant a sequel. But I don't believe its ties to the alien franchise will help it. After all the Alien movie franchise is dying/dead. Fox knows this very well. Just because the original creators (minus OBannon) are coming back for a prequel is not enough to motivate new audiences to spend money at the theater to see this new film. This movie will have to do well on its own.

MemberXenomorph08/17/2011Hows this for an appetite wetter. A Ridley remake of Aliens or Better yet not a remake of Alien but an alternative Alien Perspective or even an Ash view type movie. There are always two sides to every story, Ash seemed to be missing ALOT throughout the later part of the movie maybe there was some Alien/Ash interaction that no one was aware of and then with the Jockey's in the mix a third side and then it goes on. Just an idea.
