Okay..so I found this site that explains the Derelict craft from the many photos and this site which is pretty cool. So, what has been said is that the Space Jockey fuses with the chair in this biomechanical ship, which would explain why he is fused and not fossilized to the chair as so though and would make the 30 year time frame sound correct but take a look guys..pretty interesting... "It is clear that the derelict was intended as a sort of an organic bio-ship. This is supported by the fact that the pilot of the derelict is fused to his cockpit chair (Figs. 9-11), using bio-mechanical means and the fact that the interior of the ship consists of a conglomeration of bone-like organic elements (Fig. 11a).
