Question; can anyone tell me what the object in the picture is...?... If so, and you do get it right, it will be "Your Turn" to ask everyone some kind of Science Fiction or related Movie question... perhaps we can use media like pictures as well to spice it up for fun. Anyways I am going first...what's that in the picture?

Tec-B ill give you the point. In an interview she stated that Bolagis height made the alien more realistic and more frightening as opposed to the guys in Aliens that were just 5'5'' stuntmen dressed up tec-B has the con

this is a tenuous question.. in the scifi realm.. if it's not acceptable please say and i'll come up with another The scale model builder for Alien was involved in many films, one of which he was unusually told not to "Dirty Down" the models. Which film was this?

nope, that was creature effects on Aliens, this was a british guy, think he's interviewed in quadrilogy, and is certainly interviewed on the three hour documentary on the Legacy Bonus disc for alien. He may have been the prop master.

no to dark star and dune. it was half remembered from an interview years ago, but have confirmed that my memory is correct, although it wasn't roger dicken. A clue is that if you don't already know what "dirtying down" is then find that out. It happens on virtually every film (not just sci fi) when models are involved which was it was unusal.

It is, for example, in a film setting where a spaceship like the nostromo has been trekking round the systems for however long isn't going to look brand spanking new, it will looked dirty and battered etc. So what film was the guy in question told not to do it. Film is more important than the guy in the question

Hicks is correct. The actor in question appears in Aliens as Hicks with his back towards camera. they had to leave the shot in as they were a week into shooting when the actor got fired
