Okay here is my try: Okay hmm I read the Resurrection synopsis and it says they were able to breed aliens? So That seems different then the queen idea in aliens. Is that the discrepancy? Sorry that is all I got.

There were only 3-4 actors present during the scene in question.

Ok, here is another shot at it without any new hint... This, in and of itself should be the answer.... In a famous scene, restored only in the director's cut of ALIENS, Ellen Ripley looks at a photograph of her daugter, only to find out from Carter Burke that the child died while Ripley was in hypersleep. The foreshadowing was that Ripley would later become a Mother again of sorts, but this time for the Monster itself. It is a Continuity issue because that scene never appeared in the theatrical release of the film.

and the more I think of this the more I am drawn back to near the end of the film in Which Bishop gets ripped apart by the Queen. How could the Queen have possibly had enough room where it was hiding in the drop ship to lay another egg? We clearly seer the Queen Laying her eggs via the assistance of a massive ambiblical tube, so if there is an EGG present on the Sulaco at the start of Alien 3 how in the hell did it get there ? It effects the Resurrection film in that they had to get around that mistake in order to get to a point where the creature is now Birthing like a human.

Is it something to do with Hicks?

nice try sparky but no. regards the two eggs you're talking about in alien 3, allegedy there was 1 in the landing gear of the Dropship and 1 in the EEV, supposedly left behind by the Queen while she was hiding. Thats what they say, but this has nothing to do with the question or answer.

Ok have no clue if im way off the mark as im not sure if we have a "proper" pic of the dead Hicks in his cryo tube in Alien 3 anyways...could it be that in Aliens the bandage we see Hicks wearing is over one eye(cant remember which) but at the Start of 3 its over the other?

I can only think of the scene in Aliens where Ripley dreams she has a chestburster in her which kind of foreshadows Alien 3 but I can't think of what the discrepancy would be.

the problem with this, and it's probably why it gave us so much trouble, and I am just being technical here, is that the rules were we could not make any reference to any films outside of THE ALIEN franchise! So we ONLY considered the question in light of 3 and Resurrection! Just FYI & Point To Biomechanic who now has the con!

I also said it foreshadowed alien 3 which is wrong. I would be fine with half a point for it.

IMO, unless officially rebuted by Fox, AVP and AVPR are part of the franchise, plus I have referred to these films in a previous question. In future I'll refer to it as the collective franchise, for clarity - my bad.

@ BM - I wouls say .75 a point, because it does foreshadow Alien 3.
