MemberOvomorph12/10/2011I was wandering what people think of this possible story line.................
Weyland employ Repace as a scientist after discovering the remains of an alien (space jockey) temple on Earth, the giant head and urns. The early Repace can not have children and early on this makes no sense. Weyland meet with Yutani to discuss terroforming, but Yutani and Weyland differ as Weyland want to explore but Yutani want to conquere. Weyland send Repac, David and a few others on a mission to the Space Jockey's home world as discovered by the archaelogical dig. Yutano follow in the second ship. When arriving the Weyland ship lead by Repace is welcomed as scientific exporers greeting the space jockeys. However, the space jockeys loose trust in them after the second ship Yutani comes in with more aggressive intentions trying to steal the secrets of the urns. The space jockeys worker drones then go into action to protect the secret of their masters.........................................

MemberOvomorph12/10/2011Oh and my idea about Repace not being able to have children will be why the Space Jockeys do not have designs on her, as I think they may be doing tests on fertile beings as they are having problems with reproduction as they have been alive for millions of years and they need fresh DNA to make their's stronger. And why they may chose Therone; and lets face it who wouldn't lol. But Repace is still a fitty :)

MemberOvomorph12/10/2011Nice ideas BUTI think you give too much weight to that Weyland Yutani thing ...i think that like in Alien the "company " is used for a smart plot twist or merely as a link to alien ... i dont think Scott will use that subplot that is mainly interest for geeks .

MemberOvomorph12/10/2011I see your point. I don't think the Weyland - Yutani thing will play a big part. But I think there is some definate deception involved (probably company driven) which results in the engineers / space jockeys releasing some sort of damage protection, i.e. xeno's. Or it could be that the space jockeys are long dead and we just learn more about their culture from the planet expolration ..........................

MemberOvomorph12/10/2011Mebbbe the company logo "W" we see on the vehicles and on Janek's shirt is the futuristic representation of the logo of Walmart!!

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011That makes sense, I've seen my fair share of mindless androids in Walmart.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011As mentioned earlier and as is traditionally said I do not mean to be rude, and with all due respect to you guys, but we have established that for the purposes of the Alien Franchise there were NOT 2 seperate companies, everyone just assumed this, the name he created, as Ron Cobb so elequently explained, was a cross between the Giant European auto maker "British-Lelaynd" and a neighbor of his whose name was one letter different than "Yutani".

Engineer Prototype - Model GAJ84
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011I have to agree with Spartacus. I have looked all over for any mention of a merger between Weyland & Yutani and I just can't find one. I just assumed it had always been one company.

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011A merger is mentioned by Scott here :MTV Interview

Engineer Prototype - Model GAJ84
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011The important paragraph,
"Scott: It's Weyland. Weyland hasn't joined Yutani yet, so they go and see Weyland. [The film] is about the discussion of terraforming — taking planets and planetoids and balls of earth and trying to terraform, seed them with the possibilities of future life. "

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011He was surprisingly revealing in that interview. How much of what he said actually made it on film is anyone's guess.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011another noticeable thing in there is the subtle hints {or so I felt} to perhaps reviving this machine and perhaps even the possibility of a Sequel/Follow Up to Prometheus.

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011I am inclined to believe he probably won't do any sequels but more prequels. If Prometheus leads up to the events in Alien then the next prequel will lead up to the events in Prometheus and so on. Maybe in this film Weyland and Yutani are already merged as the logos being seen suggest and in the next movie we will see how they merge and why.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorph12/10/2011I like your inclination,
That would be so cool.
I want these two guys Giger and Scott to do Prometheus Franchise movies into their 150's...and invite all those guys from the documentary in the "Memories of Aliens" section of this web site called "Alien Makers".
I think these guys are a cut above everyone else when it comes to figuring out how to do things no one else can do in films....even more than say Lucas, Spielberg, Coppola, Tarantino, and maybe everyone else out there save for the late Stanley Kubrick !
