MemberOvomorph12/22/2011wow....
finally....the offical trailer has been released (or unleashed)
and the end result was well worth the wait. my simple mind
has been blown in only 1:07 minutes....
the things that stood out in my mind:
the Prometheus ship amongst those puffy clouds
the tone of the trailer, very much a nod to the trailer for ALIEN (1979)
those autonomous orbs with the red lasers scanning all around that structure
the grandeur of the humanoid face structure area
the head of a space jockey(?) being examined as Vickers walks in the room
research vehicles all racing back to the Prometheus ship on that dark dusty path
Vickers running down the interior taking OFF her surface suit (go figure)
the large saucer like ship that is slowly passing above the large waterfall
the hologram of the star charts that expands at David's command
the crewman who seems to have aged(?) both in his suit,
as well as being examined by David and appears to be in a wheelchair
in the frame that shows Shaw dropping to her knees in the medical bay
the flash of the Space Jockey's ship as it seems
to have collided with another ship in the bright sky
the mutated crew member launching himself at another crewmen
and of course - - the Space Jockey's chair / apparatus rotating slowly
up from the base of that arena (and the strange looking humanoid that is watching it)
last but not least - the monumental image of the derelict ship in motion
okay...i think that covers it! lol!
sorry folks, i just needed to positively vent my excitement at FINALLY
seeing what Scott and his team have been cooking up so secretly over the
past year
i can say with ALL honesty,
that i have not been this giddy or anxious about a film in a L O N G time
this is gonna be one hell of a 6 month wait...
but, if the trailer is any indication of all great things come to those who (well you know)
then we are in for a really special cinematic experience. i will literally be counting down
the days...

MemberOvomorph12/22/2011Hopefully, the wait will be made easier by additional trailers or spots released between now and then. Most films do that, and that is the only thing I hope is common with this one.

MemberOvomorph12/22/2011yes, there will be those types of additional trailers interviews to keep
us folks vested and ready to watch the final end result on the big screen
i do wonder though,
what the special features on the Bluray will contain (i'm thinking far ahead here)
i hope that they really give us a good n' meaty production disc,
much the way Scott did for the ALIEN Collectors Edition laser disc back
in the early 1990's. there were even some secret* features on some of the
laserdiscs in that particular release
so there is MUCH to look forward to in that regard
