MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Sorry that looks like a blatant composite.
EDIT: But it does have authentic looking components.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012If you right click and then view image. It pulls up the larger image. It is then obvious its not a composite. The forums shrink the image.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012yes it look fake but i dont think the background is fake ...is the same photoshop composition/editing of the newspaper photos of some time ago . Are set photos heavily retouched ...

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Yeah It's not the size or resolution it's the lighting difference that doesn't look authentic in my opinion.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012BAHAHA...look at the arm badge. WEYLAND MEGA----
Still can't see the rest but this will start another battle.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012The suits look like the statues. As the suit covered engineer when he entered his chair, what is the use of such suits, or maybe it`s a kind of suits for critical situations to take them on fast...

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012No composite of any images I have seen yet. Which is still intriguing because it is an obvious Photoshop. I work in PS CS5 and yes this could be done easily. You can even see halos and noise that have been attempted to be covered up just above her head and all through the darker area above her left shoulder.

Frantz
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012however cannot be all fake ..is a photo of noomi we havent see yet and the background cant be fan made imo

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Okay so it does look like a composite but it may not be. The Entertainment Weekly stuff looked fake also. I think the knee jerk reaction comes from the fact so much is revealed in this and that just seems wrong. Like Frantz said the image of Noomi does seem new and real but the background... I just don't know what is going on there.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Her image is totally real. The Weyland Patch does not say Mega though, it looks more like it is a staff patch stating what their position is, like Mechanic, Cook, Pilot, Doctor (IE: The Dharma badges in "Lost") I'm just thrown off by the obvious PS work but it looks like both pieces can be from something real. Maybe it was PS'd by some hack who tried cleaning it up or enhancing sharpness or contrast.

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012mega ...if is mega it match perfectly with the photo bio posted some time ago about the hat of Janek ...is Weyland Megacorp or something like that

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Mindbender, Janek has something that starts with an M on his hat also though. I think it is the ships name but I don't think it is Magellan.

From the discussion How do you spell Magellan?

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012The Logo has already been revealed and confirmed as the company name being "Weyland Corp" So who knows.

I'll give you back the 'A'. But I see a definite 'G'! LOL

1234567890
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Ah I didn't look at that detail before, his shirt definitely says "Weyland Corp"

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Hmm that's not a sun either that's a ringed planet they use in the logo.
She has pepper spray that means they knew of alien rapists and were prepared : )

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Wow, that's a major reveal........elephantine stillsuits? Hmmm... I'm more impressed by their indestructable space ship.

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012So yeah...

MemberOvomorph01/14/2012WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...i was so hopeing the the sj actually really looked like their suites!!!....now that they look human i am really pissed off.......i think im gonna go punch my brother brb...well anyways..i dont know why RS hired such a fail team to produce the idea of the SJ...but if he followed the the comic books and actual books of the story..the space jockey look nothing like a human..they look much more alien!!!! more like the alien itself!!! im sure it will still be a great movie..but i was hopeing to be completely shocked and awed by the sight of the SJ...

artyoh
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012Just because it's a suit, doesn't necessarily mean the creatures that wear them look fully human. Heck, I had been thinking that what we saw in "Alien" might be the result of an SJ having died in a state of being physically biomechanically "merged" with the instrument he was found within.....muscles, nervous system, etc. That's super high-tech creepy, right? Am I disappointed that it reallly is, "just" a pedestrian environmental suit?.....not if it works in the story. I mean, would you want a couple of those giants stomping down...oh, say, that corridor above, right at your heels, while bellowing out the order of limbs the're going to tear off, once they catch you?

Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012So we travel 5 years through hyperspace to find an alien that wears good ol' Wellington boots?! There has been a lot of fact and innuendo that have not met my personal expectations of the film - the so-called "mohawk guy", the "tall guy", the "magic ooze" - but I made concessions and remained optimistic, repeating in my head, "In Ridley I trust, In Ridley I trust...". But I'm sorry to say, the sight of Wellington boots has finally broken me. Damn I thought there would be a bit more creativity around it all.
Of course, I'm already trying to explain to myself the boots and the rubbery suits themselves: perhaps the boots are no bother because in the actual film there is no view of them, and the suits are merely the costumes for the film rather than a part of it - assuming the background is a warts 'n' all internal pic.
I dunno, might have to hit the bottle to lift my spirits. Sorry to be a bummer.

Juxtapose
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012I also work with photoshop everyday...her hair is the biggest give away...a really bad amateur job...cannot help but think it is fan made.....!
But those suits in the background....how do we know those are suits?...maybe those are the actual SJ's standing in the hallway?
To be honest i have not looked at the higher contrast images...but from what I have seen...they look like they might be the actual sj's...(or I guess maybe just suits...we'll see?)
P.S...Sorry I accidentally posted this on a similar thread as well...(the one following this)

Juxtapose
MemberOvomorph01/14/2012@ Starbeast....yeah those boots...fuck!...did not really look close enough.....so maybe the SJ's like to wear boots?...lol
