MemberOvomorph01/16/2012the alien in alien and aliens looked human like and was bipedal because the alien gestated inside a human host..aliens 3 the alien gestated in a dog and thus ran on all fours and was dog like...people have said that in alien there is a deleted scene in which a cocooned dallas is turning into a xenomorph..this is not what is happening in aliens the colonists are also cocooned. the aliens cocoon them as living hosts around a facehugger egg so that the hatching face hugger has an immediate host. still we do see the humans in the trailers mutating and attacking one another...who knows what the hell is causing this they are like rabid zombies. we see the one guy in the space suit pouncing at somebody and he clearly has super amplified strength..also the rabid woman that we see collapsing is wearing white pieces of cloth meaning she is either in some hyper sleep hibernating outfit or she was examined in a med lab prior to her killer mutation..perhaps she came into contact with the mutagen that is used to make the xenomorphs perhaps a fluid within those urns...say when we see that person with acid gas in their helmet and perhaps that fluid is what causes him to be able to pounce and attack. maybe its a fluid or gas that makes the xenomorphs so vicious..some chemical used in their dna like a steroid which causes the humans that have come in contact with it to become vicious killers

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012Dallas IS being cocooned to be a host for Brett who is in the midst of metamorphosis into the egg sack. This is a factual and actual scene that is back in the special edition of the film. Cameron changed the growth and stages of the alien to suit his need. Once more, NOTHING in any of sequels is being used as part of this movie so please stop using these references as speculative ammo.

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012yeah but i thought it took a queen to lay a face hugger egg..
the fact is that the aliens ARE human like..they are bipedal and they have two arms wth human like fingers..HOWEVER this is because they come from a human host

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012Dude, the alien from ridley scott never
Had a queen alien as concept nor did
he stated that the alien's 2nd form
must be depending on its host.
Looking back at the hr giger alien
artwork and tge deleted scene with
brett and dallas, the life cycle of the
alien is different.
They used the victim to morph
into an egg again. Dallas was kept
alive to be a host for the face hugger
that used to be the corpse of brett.
The alien used brett as biomass to
Create new egg with face hugger.

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012i've got an even simpler explanation: common sense
plus the fact that this is ridley scott, not james cameron for some other hack.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorph01/16/2012To me, & IMO with regard to the first film, No Internecivus Raptus had ever sucked in any human DNA until Ripley's Xeno first got to Kane.

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012but like i said the alien is human like because the original hosts were human up until aliens 3

Game Over Man!
MemberOvomorph01/16/2012I think the xenos are their own speicies and no way descendants of humans. The SJs came across them somewhere in the universe and seen their value as a cleansing mechanism. Cleaning something up they created on a planet that went wrong possibly. Not sure where the eggs are coming from if Ridley has no plans for a queen. But since the engineers are creators I wont discount the possibility they created the xeno themselves.

deadcell
MemberOvomorph01/16/2012maybe the xenos are a sister species to us. they were to primitive and feral so the creators made us to replace them

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012If you eliminate all the films that followed Alien. You saw only one Xenomorph. It's life cycle was illustrated much to Kane's misfortune. The deleted scene with Dallas, and Brett does show both of them cocooned with Brett's transformation much further along than whatever is happening to Dallas. That freaky xenomorph's metabolic reproductive chemistry is goddamned incredible. It was only a matter of HOURS people! Even butterflies take months, this indicates to me that the xenomorph is like a mayfly. It's entire life cycle must be very short due to it's accellerated metabolism. As for it's intellegence, it outsmarted, outmaneuvered, and out witted the entire crew of the Nostromo. It also got it's biomechanical ass on the Narcissus when Riply set the ship to self destruct. You've read the alternate ending, which would have established that the Alien was not only deadly, but highly intelligent. Eliminating that though, and using the film to base all of your assumptions it's a sadistic, killer. It likes to toy with it's victims, study them, and it's born with a biological imperative, to reproduce with any hosts available.

Game Over Man!
MemberOvomorph01/16/2012I know it is hard not to try and tie in the reproductive cyle with ALIENS but that cycle worked for me anyway even with a queen present. But we never really find out how the queen came to be from the reprod cycle. Plus we dont know 100% for certain what Ridley's life cycle would have been since we didn't see it through to producing another Xeno. Yes we know Brett was forming into an egg and Dallas was cocooned for the egg. But would have Dallas's xeno been a queen or just another drone xeno? No one knows for certain. Maybe that is why Ridley kept this out of the film because he wasn't quite sure how he wanted the reprod cycle to be.

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012well aliens takes place on the same planet so you have to figure that the eggs from the derelect came from the queen as well

MemberOvomorph01/16/2012As a weapon I like the concept that the Xeno is a sister race but for a different purpose or maybe something the SJ found and corrupted into a killing machine.
Maybe we will see the base species before the SJ corrupt it. Maybe the humans in Prometheus get corrupted by the original corruptive goop hence the alien DNA in the film but a new concept.
interesting

Xenophobe
MemberOvomorph01/17/2012I still think that in Prometheus we'll possibly find out that the xenomorphs were a SJ creation, that humans unwittingly interfered with which lead to them inheriting some human DNA in the process and this lead to a creature that wasn't suppose to exist in nature. . .

ArchEtech
MemberOvomorph01/17/2012Lyle - bingo
It could also mean that it won't be created again..... But that doesn't mean there aren't worse things.

Xenophobe
MemberOvomorph01/17/2012@ArchEtech - True, this combination of human and xenomorph DNA will make that creature so deadly in my opinion. Also look at the Alien movie, the xeno clearly has some humanoid features i.e two arms, two legs, digits on it's hand and it stands as a bi-ped.

Galaxy Dave
MemberOvomorph01/18/2012If you like the theory that the SJ's found the xenos and used them for their purposes, why not use the xenos as "material" or building blocks if you will to construct their halls, ships or what have you. They are both biological and mechanical (metalic)! Living ore!
