2nd Prequel

Im pretty sure after Ridley Scott has said recently there will definately be two films. I think Prometheus will actually be the prequel to the Alien prequel. Prometheus focusing on the Spacejockeys/Engineers, and the next one focusing on the new Xeno or whatever new creature is revealed in Prometheus.

i dont want him to say anything about another prequal untill we see how this one fairs, too many movies equal money grubbing

@deadcell, Ridley Scott pretty much defined the sci-fi genre with Alien & Bladerunner and has been wanting go back ot explore posibilities in the Alien universe for years. The man has so much passion for this I doubt he's just doing it for the money. If you want to blame anyone for beeing greedy money grabbing sods, then point the finger at Fox, they are the ones who wanted the "family friendly" pg13 version.

dude im not hacking ridley, trust me, not to be misunderstood, its fox im worried about with the prequels. i have all the faith we will get the old riley, its just after avp, avpr and every other series fox has milked to all end i am still a little worried that fox will screw with ridley

Lets all hope that FOX does not interfear with Ridley. We all dont want them to screw it up. Plus, I dont think that Ridley would do the movie if he couldnt do it the way he wants.

I most definitely read somewhere last year that he'd booked those sound stages at Pinewood Studios for two years. How true that is I don't know. I think he may have another film in the works, but like some of you say here, that depends on how 'Prometheus' fares I assume.

@Engineerprototype - I think you're spot on there! Prometheus being a prequel to the subsequent next movie, with that one being the DIRECT prequel to Alien. Good thinking! Also, clever Ridley Scott if that is the case.

I'm wondering if when Ridley said "We're trying to squeeze in 2 prequels" he meant "We're trying to squeeze 2 prequel stories/story lines into 1 film". At first I read it as yeah they're trying to make two prequel films, but now I'm not so sure if he means they've squeezed 2 stories for prequels into one film. I think after Prometheus there's not much left to say and if it does happen that they really rinse the story dry on screen in the second film it would spoil any (if there is any) mystery left over after Prometheus.
