So for all you fans out there that have seen all 3 of Christopher Nolan's Batman films what were your thoughts on The Dark Knight Rises? Did it live up to all the hype and expectations you had for it?
I was able to watch Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises all in one showing on the big screen on Thursday. Personally I think The Dark Knight still surpasses Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises. The pacing, humor, darkness, complexity and sheer fun of The Dark Knight along with the incredible golden performance of Heath Ledger as the Joker is just unbeatable on so many levels in my opinion.
So what was your favorite from Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy?

Batman the dark knight - awesome.
Batman - dark knight rises - ((waiting))
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

MemberOvomorphJul-22-2012 2:54 PMThe Dark Knight Rises was good. Director Christopher takes the cliche, predictable setting that is the Batman universe, throws in very interesting and informing (yet long) story-lines, and adds incredible, top notch acting and pulls off the movie very well....even though you see the ending coming a mile away.
The movie IS recommended, and Bane in no way shape or form should be compared to The Joker, 2 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT characters/villains.
Joker is a sociopath, and Bane is just brute force but done the right way this time.

MemberOvomorphJul-22-2012 3:20 PMso, who's the other vilain this time, besides CatWoman and Bane?

MemberOvomorphJul-22-2012 3:30 PMDid not find any other vilain yet..
Sure, Dark Knight can not be topped, so batman rises can only be "good, but not so good then dark knight".
But i am not sure if it was Heath Ledger - i think the secret lays in the character of the JOKER, who is the most fascinating villain EVER in comic universe(s).
I would like to see a well made movie "THE JOKER" with a really good actor.
I never understood why GARY OLDMAN never was a villain in any comic movie. Its WASTED TALENT that Oldman "just" plays the Commisioner in Batman, he was BORN to be BAD...

MemberOvomorphJul-22-2012 8:56 PMBane was badass, if you deny this that you're crazy.
The Joker is the Joker is the Joker, no way around that.
But it's not like if you love Bane, then the Joker and Ledgers whole performance is going to be wiped away, no it's still there, I'm sure Heath Ledger would have said "It's okay guys, you are allowed to think about other characters in the movies."

MemberOvomorphJul-22-2012 10:19 PMWe can't answer that David 1...that would be cheating and really, it would ruin a total shock moment you don't see coming with a villian I never would have expected, but that totally fits.

MemberOvomorphJul-29-2012 6:01 PMChristopher Nolan continues to delight us with his narrative style and impeccable delivery which is unequivocally the best Batman film created and one of the best superhero movies. Doing a good attachment to the comics, makes clear his reputation as a film director film gets better and outlines to leave your name in cinematic history.
In one of his previous films (The Prestige) Nolan describes the magic tricks in 3 parts, presentation, exchange and prestige. The presentation is when the magician shows a simple object which is related to us, change the magician takes the ordinary to do something extraordinary and revives our interest to find the explanation for the impossible even knowing that we want to be deceived. Finally comes the prestige, the most difficult where the real magic occurs.
The same structure applies to the trilogy of Batman. In Batman Begins we witness the birth of a hooded darker when compared to previous installments. Some seemed to slow the development of the first part, however the director anticipated the elements necessary to sustain the story, was laying the foundation to make way for Dark Knight (which even if it hurts to say was driven by the death of Heath Ledger) and we move into the inner conflicts of Bruce Wayne. Using a formidable foe such as The Joker, Nolan delved into good and evil that resides within every man. Batman took the decision to make clear his sacrifice for the city. The common man became the hero.
Dark Knight Rises complete the trick exceptionally. Through Bane, we see a Batman face his destiny, move beyond fears and hopes. Gotham City is the scene of the last fight of the masked detective.

MemberOvomorphAug-02-2012 1:52 PMEach movie is great on its own AND as part of the trilogy. Each is very different and I continue to find it difficult to place one in front of the other despite multiple viewings of each. This is one of the best Hollywood film trilogies and definitely the best Comic-book trilogy. I'm glad I can have these three films on BR on my shelf.
