MemberOvomorph01/24/2012Hey, as we are all dying for more oxygen from Ridley, I thought I'd start another theory borne out of no evidence whatsoever...
As I've suggested in a couple other threads, what if the SJ suit is such that you don't actually have to be of similar size to wear it. What if you can actually be any size - even a human - and put it on, and the suit itself will "grow" around the wearer to make a snug fit. As it is biomechanical, this should be pretty easy to explain. And the suit will make the necessary connection points to allow the wearer to operate the limbs and see through the eyes etc etc.
Further to that, now I'm thinking well wait a minute, why couldn't the tall blue guy (I call Riddick) be just another suit!?! I mean, maybe the actual engineers have evolved into jellyfish/squid-like beings and don't have the dexterity anymore and therefore, they created these different suits for different activities.
Again, this is just my mind making shit up while we starve, but please let me know your thoughts.

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012Yer this would explain why the suit would fit Shaw. But like I said before the thing in Alien is huge not petite like Shaw.

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012Well, I think you'll have to look elsewhere for oxygen!
Good effort however.

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012I agree, and even said the same thing in the thread with Shaw in the hallway and suits/statues behind her.

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012@Rakkasan, sorry I must have missed that. If it was the thread about 4 SJs behind Shaw, then yeah I deliberately avoided that one having debated the same scene on another thread preceding that one.

@Hukerlover, not quite following you brother. Seem to be contradicting yourself - please can you elaborate. Do you mean the exit wound is too big to have come out of Shaw and through the SJ suit?

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012@Starbeast what i ment was the SJ/SUIT in Alien was huge if Shaw gets into yhe suit how come it fits her
ah hang on a mo MUTATION

No worries I was just trying to point out we had a similar thought, but you had the initiative to start a thread on it.
If I understand Hukerlover what is meant is that if the suit conforms to the body then Shaw could not be the one that wore it and became the SJ in Alien. If the suit shrinks to fit then she is too small to be the SJ.
Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/24/2012But what I'm thinking guys is the suit doesn't shrink but actually fills in the gaps - i dunno like with nerve endings that kinda wrap around the wearer like cotton wool sort of.
A cross between the loader suit from Aliens and the avatar suits from Avatar - if you get me. Lol, I'm trying my best to keep this theory afloat.

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012Now I am tracking. Since you put it that was yes, it makes perfect sense. So I understand, when Shaw gets in the suit it internally modifies itself to fit her, but externally remains the same size. Is that right?
Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/24/2012Exactly! So there's no physiological changes needed on the human or any wearer, no mutation necessary either. It'll probably end up a million miles from the truth but it's fascinating trying to connect these dots!

MemberOvomorph01/24/2012tall blue guy alternative possibilities:
-science exploration suit mark v
-labor/exploration android mark ii
Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/25/2012Yeah I mean the tall blue guy simply can't be the true space jockey because they just wouldn't give away the big reveal in a damned trailer. In previous threads we've speculated it being a sentient being itself or like you say a glorified robot, or indeed a suit as we now postulate. I remember seeig or reading about Toyota or was it Honda that was developing power-assisted suits primarily for the infirm and elderly to help them carry themselves and handle heavy items etc. So the tall blue guy suit could be satisfying similar needs - like you say a strong, agile and perfectly adapted vehicle to negotiate the terrain of the host planet and so on.

MemberOvomorph01/25/2012First off...I love the 'suit that biomechanically changes to suit the size of its wearer concept' Starbeast. But I can't go with you on that 'blue baldy is a suit too' idea, It just doesn't track for me...at that point, the whole thing would just become some weirdly stupid sc-fi recreation of those Russian nesting dolls that fit one inside another...........

And while I understand the gut reaction that Blue Baldy CAN'T possibly be what the SJ's are, because the studio would never so easily reveal it in an early trailer...I just don't agree. All we see is his back and the side of his head in a very long shot that's onscreen for a fraction of a second....that one shot is an obvious tease in itself. There's no reason it CAN'T be a SJ.........

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I totally disagree. Nice idea though. Sounds too much like Star Wars and George Lucas ... completely opposite of Ridley Scott. Makes the scenario much too easy to explain.
