MemberTrilobite01/26/2012The Head in this image is shown at the same angle as on the official poster.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012sweet, looks like they are in a burrowed tunnel after all, to me at least.

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012Not new at all, i`ve seen this some weeks ago. But thx anyway for posting, everything here is useful and can give us new impressions...

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I've definitely never seen this before. Good work Frantz but why is she looking up his nose?

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012@Spartacus,
The curvature makes me think they're inside the derelict.
@ Biomechanic,
You can see the veins on Michelangelo's David, so maybe there are sculpted nose hairs in this case? : )
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I think she's looking for a way in. : )
Think maybe I thought of an excuse for why they take their helmets off. Maybe they are trapped inside this cave or ship and their clean oxygen has run out so they have to take the risk and breath the alien atmosphere or suffocate. I can live with that scenario.

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012So someone set me straight.
On the planet, once they've landed, the crew will be in both a temple and the derelict at some point? I thought it was just the derelict.

ZetaReticuli
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012That's gorgeous, not seen that one before, thanks Frantz.
Can you please post a link to the picture?

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012New to me - nice one Frantz! I doubt the big head is in a ship, seems more temple orientated. High res would be nice

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I really dig this scene. No matter what angle, it is absolutely stellar. The one thing that I keep reminding myself about, is the fact that Ridley wouldn't allow this stuff to be released, if he wasn't saving the 'good stuff' for the full screening.
Will the eye's open up and blaze everyone? (relevant link)

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012That's a big nostril. Least we know what's inside the urns now -- boogers! LOL

AdminEngineer01/26/2012I've seen this before. It was from a magazine article if I remember correctly. But regardless thanks for posting!

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012cool new pic, i like how we cant see the eyes......little creepy
BUT it would be nice to see a new picture other than this scene. i feel like we have seen a dozen pictures of different angles in this scene. maybe the whole movie takes place in this one area lol

Frantz
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012i think is a perfect marketing operation ....
a) is that the main scene of the movie ?
b) is just a bait to spill over and over the same things and keep hidden all the others ?
c) its to lead you away from the real plot because other scenes will be too revealing ?
d) they stay 3 hours there ??

danrald
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012Snorkelbottom,
Yes that angles are pretty much the same.. but note, it's Imora and Shaw in there.. lol.

ReeceMacoy
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012frantz, your b & c options seems pretty accurate. lets count how many times they show this scene in the next trailer lol

Gavin
MemberTrilobite01/26/2012...and David (out of shot or behind the head).
I know what you hinting at Danrald, but I seriously doubt that Imora would be the woman on the poster because she's not the main character, Shaw is (Noomi Rapace is the first name in the cast list on the poster).

danrald
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012Snorkel..
lol. Thanks for noting the hint.. I'll put up images later for why I say this.. I don't doubt one bit that Noomi is the main character.. It's just curious that Imora is on the poster.. or it could be Vickers.. But I have a pretty good pic to prove it..

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I've often thought how I would make a movie, and I really like the way Ridley Scott has handled this movie SO far. If it were me, there would be VERY little footage released period, with just enough to stir the imagination as seen on these message boards.
With regards to the "head", I think it would be great to see this mission first concerned with exploration & discovery, only to end up being a fight for survival after encountering "malevolent" beings.....

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012How about the reason their remove their helmets being a scan of the atmosphere reveals the air is BREATHEABLE.
What I would like to see the movie develop into would be a discovery so beyond the imagination of humans, that the crew of the Prometheus find themselves WAY OVER THEIR HEADS.......

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012Hi Snorkelbottom ref: I know what you hinting at Danrald, but I seriously doubt that Imora would be the woman on the poster because she's not the main character, Shaw is (Noomi Rapace is the first name in the cast list on the poster).
where was Sigourney Weaver's name on the cast list for Alien, could be Ridley hiding his leading lady and confusing us evan more

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012great image, I hadn't seen that before, again liking the Geigeresque cavern.
Maybe the head's mouth will open up, and a little mouth will pop out !

MemberOvomorph01/26/2012Hi, it's my first post but have been lurking for a while and loving all of the analysis, insights and opinions of what we have seen so far. I have followed most posts but not every so excuse me if I am repeating other peoples thought.
It occurred to me looking at this latest image that the big head, urns, etc, could be what is found on Earth, pointing them to the home world of the engineers. This would include the star map we have already seen. This would explain why they are walking around with their helmets off (the suits are being worn because they were going into an "alien" structure found on Earth - unknown atmosphere). The urns contained the bio-goo DNA which was the genesis of Man, hence the giant head iconology.
What do you think, does my theory stand?

No. But neither do ours! Haha.
Welcome to the forums.

Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/26/2012I know, doesn't make sense. I mean, you'd think it was natural light, (from a hole in the roof?) but if it's the site on Earth, it shouldn't really have a "sky light" because it would have been buried. So this could further support the premise the room is on another world.
Also, notice the "freckles" on the big head. Could those be burn marks caused by xenomorph blood??? They also look like tears, which would be an appropriate metaphor.
I love this picture.
