Here's is a more detailed screen by screen play of the GIF I posted a few days ago. It's all guess work so please don't get to hun up on the names as I have used guess work and assumption with these....... This looks very much like the ALIEN movie we all love in the 70s. How this would relate to the Holloway's acid incident is still up in the air... They keep a really tight lid on the promotion of this movie. DARK KNIGHT RISES already revealed a 6 minute prologue & that movie opens one month after PROMETHEUS. AVENGERS images & trailers are all over the place.

@Engr101, I did think this was the lead up to the Holloway helmet scene, but I am not so sure after studying the images. Towards the end of the GIF you can see a face and I am more certain this links it to the inspection scene I have posted above. The scenes and pictures of this part of the film shows them with no 'helmets' on, so this is why in my mind I have ruled this out. Still gives very little, but as you say it looks as if Ridley is trying to capture some magic of the original...... @genjitsu17, is your name related to Ju Jitus? I've studied for many years, sadly not at present. I'm 4th Dan in Ju Jitsu, still don't fancy my chances against a xeno though :)

Thanks @Bellaisanalien.....this really does peak my my interest and it's got to be the most tantalizing evidence, of what I'm not sure, we've had in a long time. It definately is reminiscent of 'Alien', that's for sure.

The more I think about it, I think the Engineers / Space Jockeys are controlled by some sort of parrasidic organism Or they need to die off for their young to spawn........ I've been thinking of ideas that to us would be wrong, but for other species it would be normal. Lots of insect species and arachnids are eaten by their young, so I think we need to think outside of the 'human box'............

Lets look at the logic of what we see... Like bella says... Something organic opens, up (pale/light in color), and then something dark and organic shoots out and we see torches... My suggestion is that maybe something that requires a host organism to survive bursts from the remains of the Space Jockey found on the floor in the ampule room and escapes the temple using the mohawk guy as a host to sneak onboard the Prometheus and escape. He's not mutated, he's infected. Question is, what is it, why does it want to escape.

@ Snorklebottom, I like your idea, best explanation i've seen for this "parasite" so far. The theory is sound and fits in nicely with what we already know.

Perhaps the creature needs fresh DNA to continue its evolution and thus generate a race. the Space Jockey has been dead for long, therefore the parasite needs a body alive and in good condition to continue its process. I think what he said Ridley Scott, little things that may affect large scale…

Or perhaps the parasite needs to make contact with a space jockey alive. It is possible that just want to use the human body as transport to get to the engineer and so become a weapon biologica really lethal and dangerous.

@Snorklebottom, the only reason I think there are changes (possibly mutations) with the mohawk guy would be the bizaare way he climbs up the vehicle and jumps off; it has been described as 'super-human' strength, etc. It could be driven by a parrasidic organism though.....

I love that take @Snorkelbottom, but I also see where @Bellaisanalien is coming from.......I think you're both right and we're talking about two different events......................Ridley did say in one of the countdown teasers that "what they find there could eviscerate any one of them at any moment"....that's a paraphrase, but I get the idea that more than a few specific perils befall this crew, whereas in 'Alien', one crew member finds one peril and succumbs to it.....in 'Prometheus', repeat trips to this "establishment" result in multiple and entirely different injurious events that ultimately create chaos for our intrepid collection of little indians...........

So in theory, since the jockey we saw in Alien was a suit. The presumed chestburster that we assume came out of the him may have been the Jockey itself escaping from it's Host/Avatar/ Biomech Suit what have you, and not exactly the same type of chestburster which came from Kane. Leading possibly to perhaps the Jocky and Xeno being one in the same being? Just an idea.

No Problem. I've been thinking what I would do if I was Ridley; I wouldn't want to do something that had been done in films or sci fi already (I know that will limit things). a) Cells that take over organisms has been done in the Thing b) Parasites that bond with the hoast has been done in Star Gate and Star Trek c) Artificial humans going mad has been done in the original Alien and in Blade Runner d) Artificial human becoming human has been done in Pinochio I have gueses about what will happen, but I can't tie this image which with what happens to Holloway. I think as Cragemore has said we are going to have a number of surprises. I think the Ampules are going to be one, and this creature another. Perhaps the xeno is created through cross contamination of creature and the contents of the ampules.......

I like that last thought @Bellaisanalien...........the crew discover the ampules, extract at least one, tamper with its contents; meanwhile, they come in to contact with a kind of parasite, bring it back on board, intentionally or inadvertantly, and it ultimately comes into contact with the contents of an ampule, thus..............the progenitor of the alien is born...... .....that really kind of meshes with stolen fire subtext of the Promethean myth and the inevitable consequences that would result.

Oh I see what you're getting at. It would just be a parasite from that planet that stows away and later accidentally comes into contact with the ooze and mutates into the progenitor. Its a good idea but i think most people watching would see this coming as it comes into play; Ridley made it sound more like we wouldn't realize what was going on until around the last act. Besides creature+ ooze= mutated creature sounds like Ninja Turtles. I don't think anybody wants to see TMNT Vs Pinnochio, LOL.@ Bellaisanalien Like I said the other day I think you found something that a lot of other people missed and have found something to really talk about with no new material being released lately. I'm with you 100 percent that is the same scene with the head/eggsack. (you see, we don't always have to agree to disagree, LOL!)

The thing that they are inspecting is the Space Jockey's decapitated head. The rest of the Space Jockey is laying directly under the inner door to the Ampule room, an inner door that is large and has a sharp edge (it lowers from ceiling to floor). Either the Space Jockey had a nasty accident, was caught in a trap or committed suicide and lost his head. The Space Jockey head does not explode of course as they take it back to the Prometheus for examination (parralelling StarBeast).

In fact, watching that last frame before it changes to the second shot, I can see two eyes with the glint of light in them near the bottom on what appears to be a face from an upside down perspective...

I'm not completely convinced that it's a head, but if it is I'm considering whether the creature is shot from the trunk of the Engineer? or the helmet is opened and the contents is simply released over the examiners in a gooey mess (this scene may have been included to intice debate and re-direct us - although it was a leaked trailer). Or it could still be a weapon, if the Engineers are benevolent then it may be that they kill each other at the drop of the hat; using whatever we have seen to do the job................... And, @CharlieDontSurf - yes it does look like the creature pulled from the Ampule, squid like.......

Oh one more thing.. I'm going out on a limb here. You know the "hand" that is shown in the very last image of the trailer? Well look to the right of the "Head", looks like a hand with the palm up. Does that look like the same kind of hand?

This reminds me of a 1987 movie called THE HIDDEN with Kyle MacLachlan about alien organism which takes a human host but has the ability to literally jump to another host through the mouth of the host (!)
