Then the derelict crash lands on to LV-426.........then the Xeno is born....... dah dah dah

if they land on lv 223 and the finish on lv426 they will have to land on other 203 planets that are in the middle ...

As trolling as it might sound, here is my speculation about those last minutes and LV-426 and their link to Alien.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Are planets not named on when they are discovered Frantz? They could be right next to each other......
Although I see your logic I don't believe there are 203 planets between them, just 203 planets between LV-223 being dicovered and LV-426 being discovered. Probably discoverd by someone called 'Loui Verona' or something.......

The LV-223 might leave open a sequel to Prometheus which would still be before ALIEN discovering the events of what happend on LV-426.

@NoXWord That is the best and funniest plot ending theory I have read to date! Kudos to you for coming up with it!!

FrantzApril 10, 2012
i was jocking !!! Btw the name ( lv223 ) is just like an easter egg like RS said today or ....

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
Maybe Prometheus is the prequel to the prequel to Alien. But most likely be the same planetoid LV-426. Who knows, maybe the terraformer is destroyed and that is why it looks different in Alien.

RS has said. Prometheus is not a prequal. Prometheus does not end with Alien
Prometheus is not set lv426, the crew will not visit lv426. Lv426 will not feature in the movie.
Finishing the movie where Alien begins would kill a potential new franchise before it even begins
NoXWordApril 10, 2012
To be honest, what I expect from those last minutes is not a direct connection to the events in Alien, but rather a series of revelations and "now it is clear!" moments that just help understand what might have happened to the derelict to become such.
Basically just the needed background of knowledge to answer those questions by myself, without RS showing me.
In that way there would be some degree of mystery left around the original space jockey, and when watching Alien after Prometheus I wouldn't feel the derelict scene completely deprived of its pathos and atmosphere.
A real prequel to Alien would spoil (in my opinion) the biggest contribution to the success of that movie.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
Yes, I think that it is possible that is the starting point for a new trilogy or spin-off, but at the same time I would like to see a huge chestburster emerging from the chest of the space jockey and the definitive answer to the mystery of xenomorph eggs.
ShaneApril 10, 2012
What came first the eggs or the chest burster?
We will probably never know. Thankfully. I see more chance of a "Jar Jar" level of fail if they tell the story of the jockey from Alien. Leave that to our imaginations while pointing us in the right direction.
NoXWordApril 10, 2012
I 100% agree
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

@ethon the ripper
I know what you mean. But if Prometheus explains the relationship between the xeno and the SJ then perhaps there will be no need to end with the derelict crashing on LV426

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
Well, maybe that's the reason why Ridley wants to leave the original mythology (and of course, the overexposure of the xenomorph)
In this way preserves the mystery of the original mythology. But I personally would like to see a sequel or prequel to Prometheus in the format of spin-off or universe expand, IMHO of course.

TheNextLV426April 10, 2012
And I think that's exactly what the spin offs will produce.
We will find the SJs have their fingers in more than one pie, so to speak.

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
@TheNextLV426, On the other hand the Alien DNA may be the Easter eggs and the final 8 minutes of the fall of the Derelict, and that's it (the mystery continues and prometheus can advance independently of the Alien franchise for a possible sequel or prequel )

TheNextLV426April 10, 2012
@ethon-the-ripper
True.
But when RS talks about the last 8 minutes having alien DNA I was assuming he meant, running around the ship chased by a creature rather than DNA in the literal sense.
It's a tough call, on one hand I can see the alien Easter egg so everyone says oh wow thats what happened. On the other hand I can seer RS sticking to his guns and no having no tie in to the Alien SJ

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
@TheNextLV426 I think Easter eggs are not a literal appearance xenomorphs or facehuggers, rather than just a fan detail insidious may recognize, for example the mural/statue or whatever of the xenomorph creature in the trailer (the Xeno-Christ superstar)
PS: By the way, I agree with Allen that DNA will not be very literal, perhaps it is as you say, led to claustrophobia and narrow corridors.

"Finishing the movie where Alien begins would kill a potential new franchise before it even begins"
....and we have a winner!

Ethon the RipperApril 10, 2012
But Prometheus is not an Alien movie, Scott has said a million times. On the other hand it is unlikely that Scott directed a sequel (realistically) but has been said that a possible sequel to stay away even more of Alien, probably as a spin-off.
And by the way, Easter egg is just a tribute to the fans, not necessarily literal appearances will xenomorphs in the plot.

reffugeeApril 10, 2012
Looks like the last shots we've seen are of Vickers and Shaw surviving the crash, so what do they do next? Could the scene of space jockey in chair come after the crash, it dose look like bio-mechanical suite is coming off of him rather than going on. And it looks like they crash on same planet.
ShinobiX9XApril 11, 2012
I think that the last mintues will explain what the Nostromo finds in Alien without it being a real sequel. But an explanation.
just imagine a scene at the end of a battle. an impregnated Spacejockey (i don't know how or why) takes the ship and leaves. some other stuff happen, the film focuses on something else. the end.
now we can lead to a sequel without alien(s) but we can imagine that the surviing spacejockey had a chestbursterevent leading to die and maybe the derelict to crash on lv423 (not to far from lv223?) where it later can be found. not bad ei?
(i don't like to say, but the end of alien vs predator did inspire me here)

BigDaveApril 11, 2012
The Film will end with a open ending like say those adventure books where you can choose to go to page 278 or page 194, or like some games like Outun where you get to select which area you want to map out to next.
Thus the end of the movie will give a hint to explain what may have happened to Alien, but also have another part that means they can explore something else in a Part2.
This could leave Ridley Scott to go and do another movie and touch up on and explore the link from the last scene and Alien, but then how can you make another full movie to tie in Prometheus End to Alien begining.
Or he can explore another area, like more about how those Temples came to be, how those Urns came to be so like a Prequel to the Prequel. Or even explore what happens to the survivors if any from this movie.
We just dont know how its going to end or be linked or not with Alien.
